De adolescente común en la vida real a superestrella en la realidad virtual – Belle: Opinión [ESP-ENG]

Suzu es una chica tímida que ha vivido en las sombras tras la pérdida irreparable de su ser más amado. Sin poder entender a la desgracia que la marcó para siempre, Suzu se aferra a un dolor que la mantiene aislada de su pasión predilecta: el canto. Alejada del mundo, esta chica decide envolverse en la soledad, a pesar de que en su entorno hay una disposición humana para aliviar su corazón destrozado. Por supuesto, todo esto lo marca la vida real, pero… ¿Qué hay de la realidad virtual?

Cuando Suzu se topa con el ciberespacio de “U”, decide fingir lo que no es físicamente para engalanar la irrealidad con la belleza de su voz. Es así como se convierte en Belle. No obstante, la llegada de un misterioso usuario llamado “Bestia” (cuya identidad es motivo de recompensa) volteará la frágil paz fingida de Suzu para obligarla a descubrir que, en ocasiones, hay que sacrificarlo todo por el bien del corazón.

Suzu is a shy girl who has lived in the shadows after the irreparable loss of her most loved one. Unable to understand the misfortune that marked her forever, Suzu clings to a pain that keeps her isolated from her favorite passion: singing. Cut off from the world, this girl chooses to envelop herself in solitude, even though there is a human disposition in her surroundings to soothe her broken heart. Of course, all this is marked by real life, but... What about virtual reality?

When Suzu stumbles into the cyberspace of "U", she decides to pretend that she is not physically to grace the unreality with the beauty of her voice. This is how she becomes Belle. However, the arrival of a mysterious user named "Beast" (whose identity is a reason for reward) will overturn Suzu's fragile feigned peace to force her to discover that sometimes everything must be sacrificed for the sake of the heart.

La realidad ya no es tan “real” como antes. Y es que en un mundo repleto de redes sociales y plataformas virtuales, la magia del filtro y las bonitas apariencias resultan ser la piedra filosofal para una sociedad que cada vez busca aprobación. Nadie quiere ser auténtico, nadie quiere ser catalogado como una persona común. Una vez fui jurado en un concurso de literatura, y tuve una fuerte discusión con el resto de calificadores porque ellos deseaban darle el premio a la “chica bonita”, porque lo bonito ¿vende? Ese es el problema: todo lo debe marcar lo superficial.

Belle es todo lo que cualquier chica bajita, humilde, talentosa, pero poco agraciada desea ser, el problema es que Belle es falsa, pues no es más que la idealización superficial de una adolescente con inseguridad y problemas emocionales. Suzu es Belle, son la misma persona. Solo que la barrera virtual y la real las separa con identidades distintas. Son los dos lados de una misma campana, uno bañado por la luz y otro por la oscuridad.

El mundo virtual hace posible lo que la realidad impide… ¿Pero qué es más real? Esta animación japonesa plantea una hipótesis al respecto.

They are the two sides of the same bell, one bathed in light and the other in darkness.

The virtual world makes possible what reality prevents... But what is more real? This Japanese animation raises a hypothesis in this regard.

A priori la trama estalla con esas imágenes duras sobre la libertad virtual. Suzu, transformada en Belle, se convierte en una superestrella que es aclamada y amada, y que puede realizar conciertos que en su vida nunca imaginó. Tanto Belle como La Bestia descubrirán lo que significa vivir con voluntad en una historia que basa su premisa en el amor puro y no en el simple romance. Sin conocer sus identidades reales, y en el foco del mundo del internet, este par te ayudará a comprender el otro rostro de la superficialidad en las plataformas digitales. Con buena música de fondo y giros casi inesperados.

Out of nowhere, another famous character appears the beast. Everyone wants to know his identity, but to destroy him. The beast is the opposite of Belle... the two come together in a series of encounters in which pain prevails.

Both are beset by suffering, and both wish to flee from it in the virtual dome of "U". Both Belle and The Beast will discover what it means to live with will in a story that bases its premise on pure love rather than simple romance. Without knowing their real identities, and in the spotlight of the internet world, this pair will help you understand the other face of superficiality on digital platforms. With good background music and almost unexpected twists and turns.

Belle es un film bastante sobrio, tallado más a la dirección de un mensaje que a la propia lógica de algunos de sus hechos. Contemplarás de lleno lo que supone el sacrificio, y el amor que surge en la empatía. No hay trasfondos melodramáticos, y eso es lo que más agradezco. Algunos giros de la trama me tomaron desprevenidos, aunque he de admitir que pudo tener un mejor asentamiento en sus momentos finales. Disfruté, sin embargo, de la obra en su conjunto. Es algo diferente: lo diferente merece un punto extra.

Este es un anime para reflexionar sobre las futuras generaciones y el internet, pero además por la realidad que aflige a un corazón humano. Belle no es un largometraje perfecto, no al estilo de las obras maestras del Ghibli. Mamoru Hosoda (director y guionista de Belle)hace lo posible para transmitir el impacto tecnológico en una fantasía virtual con animación trepidante. Y lo logra. Sin duda, es una película que se disfruta.

Belle is a rather sober film, carved more to the direction of a message than to the very logic of some of its facts. You will fully contemplate what sacrifice entails, and the love that arises in empathy. There are no melodramatic undertones, and that's what I appreciate most. Some plot twists caught me off guard, though I have to admit that it could have had a better foothold in its final moments. I did, however, enjoy the play as a whole. It's something different: different deserves an extra point.

This is an anime to reflect on future generations and the internet, but moreover for the reality that afflicts the human heart. Belle is not a perfect feature film, not in the style of the Ghibli masterpieces. Mamoru Hosoda (director and screenwriter of Belle) does his best to convey the technological impact in a virtual fantasy with fast-paced animation. And he succeeds. Undoubtedly, it is a film to be enjoyed.
