Una araña gigante lo ayudará a ser mejor hombre - Spaceman: Opinión [ESP-ENG]

La misión de Jakub es bastante trascendental: ha de navegar en la repentina nube de polvo rosa que aparece en el extremo de nuestro sistema solar. Una vez allí, deberá encontrar respuestas. Solitario en su nave espacial, con la sola compañía de los sensores y las llamadas de comunicación directa con la estación espacial terrestres, Jakub irá confrontando el dilema del amor y el remordimiento. Todo ello surge de la conexión amorosa que se rompe en la distancia; Lenka, su esposa, tomará una decisión que terminará llevando a Jakub a la locura.

No me acostumbro a ver a Adam Sandler como actor dramático, quizás porque la gran mayoría de sus actuaciones son para películas de comedia: comedias básicas, alocadas, torpes, etc. Cuando vi que protagonizaba este largometraje, y que además encarnaría a un hombre con fuertes problemas existenciales, me ganó la curiosidad y la ironía: ¿Podría Sandler demostrar que tiene talento suficiente como para regalarnos un personaje memorable? Mantuve la duda por bastante tiempo, hasta que me animé a ver la peli. Debo admitir que fui bastante escéptico.

El argumento de Spaceman emplea la explotada visión cósmica para mostrarnos una igual de explotada analogía sobre lo que de verdad debe ser importante para los mortales. La exploración espacial apenas si es profunda; la trama es abarcada por Jakub y su inquietante amigo: una tarántula amigable. Ambos representarán el constante conflicto entre la culpa y la conciencia: una batalla que los hace viajar al pasado a través de los recuerdos. No mirarás cataclismos o apocalipsis humanos, como pasó en la Interstellar de Christopher Nolan. Al menos en el film protagonizado por Adam Sandler, la cuestión es bastante simple.

I'm not used to seeing Adam Sandler as a dramatic actor, perhaps because most of his performances are for comedy films: basic, wacky, awkward comedies, etc. When I saw that he was starring in this feature film and that he would also play a man with strong existential problems, I became curious and ironic: could Sandler prove that he is talented enough to give us a memorable character? I kept the doubt for quite a long time until I decided to see the movie. I must admit that I was quite skeptical.

Spaceman's plot employs the exploited cosmic vision to show us an equally exploited analogy about what should matter to mortals. The space exploration is hardly deep; the plot is encompassed by Jakub and his unsettling friend: a friendly tarantula. Both will represent the constant conflict between guilt and conscience: a battle that makes them travel to the past through memories. You will not see cataclysms or human apocalypses, as in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. At least in the film starring Adam Sandler, the issue is quite simple.

Y es en la simpleza de su paradigma que Spaceman falla. Lo único fascinante, es la tarántula amigable que además de ser una especie de conciencia suprema, le encanta el chocolate. Solo por mera curiosidad, me imaginé el suceso en el que una araña gigante se me acerca para darme su ayuda, yo creo que esa araña no fuera sobrevivido conmigo porque, o sea, las odio jajaja. La película está basada en un libro, según vi en los créditos. Al menos para mí, la araña no compensó el resto del film, que divaga en el vacío como una nebulosa de escaso brillo.

Adam Sandler no terminó de convencerme en su papel de protagonista traumado... por lo que vi, hizo un gran esfuerzo y dio todo de sí para meterse en el papel de Jakub. No obstante, sus nulas expresiones le jugaron en contra. Hubiera yo preferido que solo dejaran a la araña, que me cayó superbién, XD. Pero, debo admitir que hay cosas que se rescatan.

And it is in the simplicity of its paradigm that Spaceman fails. The only fascinating thing is the friendly tarantula that, besides being a kind of supreme consciousness, loves chocolate. Just out of mere curiosity, I imagined the event in which a giant spider comes up to me to help me, I don't think that spider would have survived with me because, I mean, I hate them hahaha. The movie is based on a book, as I saw in the credits. At least for me, the spider didn't make up for the rest of the film, which wanders in the void like a dimly lit nebula.

Adam Sandler didn't end up convincing me in his role as the traumatized protagonist... from what I saw, he made a great effort and gave his all to get into the role of Jakub. However, his null expressions worked against him. I would have preferred if they just left the spider, who I liked very much, XD. But, I must admit that some things are redeemable.

Para ser una historia dramática, le faltó un poco más de complejidad argumental. No soy quién para criticar nada, pero creo que el resultado hubiera sido mejor con otro actor, o quizás con una composición más profunda en el trasfondo del personaje principal. Sentí que algo le faltaba al film para que este terminara de brillar, tal como esa nebulosa que sirvió de base para mostrarnos la dirección de la trama. Spaceman no fue perfecta... pero tiene sus escenas emotivas y reflexivas; de hecho, por un instante, entendí el porqué de la existencia de la tarántula, la cual se llama Hanus, por cierto.

El dilema entre la realidad y la conciencia nos moverá el cerebro durante toda esta película. Esta fue una de las razones por las cuales no abandoné Spaceman. Como espectador, creo que es lo más destacable. Casi todos estamos familiarizados con el tema del existencialismo y el tiempo, por ello, es fácil que la peli atrape y encante a quienes le abren su corazón.

Al menos para mí, la araña Hanus se lleva el premio mayor, XD.

For a dramatic story, it lacked a little more plot complexity. I'm not one to criticize anything, but I think the result would have been better with another actor, or perhaps with a deeper composition in the background of the main character. I felt that something was missing for the film to shine, such as the nebula that served as a base to show us the direction of the plot. Spaceman was not perfect... but it has its emotional and reflective scenes; for an instant, I understood the reason for the existence of the tarantula, whose name is Hanus, by the way.

The dilemma between reality and consciousness will drive our brains throughout this film. This was one of the reasons why I did not abandon Spaceman. As a viewer, I think it is the most remarkable thing. Almost all of us are familiar with the theme of existentialism and time, therefore, it is easy for the film to catch and enchant those who open their hearts to it.

At least for me, Hanus the Spider takes the top prize, XD.

Spaceman es una película que recomiendo en caso de que te gusten los temas cósmicos enrollados con más drama romántico que cualquier otra cosa. No es que el film triunfe con esta premisa, pero hace el intento. Si alguna vez le tuviste miedo a las arañas, puede que Hanus te ayude a adorarlas...

En mi caso, me gustan las arañas a miles de metros de distancia.
