Edgley Optica
Is a small light-weight aircraft designed by John Edgley and developed/built in the UK during the mid/late 70’s.

The unusual design was created for aerial surveillance/observation and features a forward glass cabin and powered by Lycoming 5.24litre (160hp) & 8.8litre (230-350hp) flat-six engines, powering a ducted fan.

Just over twenty aircraft were built including development models with production/ownership passing through the hands of various manufacturers, eventually passing back to John Edgley in 2007 as AeroElvira Ltd who continues to develop the Optica and Sprint light aircraft and are seeking partnership to develop an electric hybrid version?
