Horror movies are not my favorite, but I have seen many and as we are in the month of fright with Halloween and trying to remember the best horror movie for the TV movie contest, I remembered that as a child I enjoyed for several years a horror saga of the 80's directed by Wes Craven, this is Nightmare on Elm Street better known in Latin America as Freddy Krueger, fictional character that terrorized children and adolescents.

Freddy Krueger was a spirit that tormented his victims in dreams, that is to say, in nightmares. This spirit harassed and killed young people who dared to have a deep sleep, Freddy was a serial killer who murdered 20 children in a community for which he was judged and exonerated of all guilt being released and the parents of his victims submerged in pain decided to take justice into their own hands and burn him alive, After his death and in the form of a spirit or ghost he would continue to take revenge, that is why he is seen with a disfigured face, burned and melted with holes making it unpleasant to the eye, with a striped sweater and a leather glove with sharp blades that was the most terrifying weapon of the time.

Las películas de terror no son mis favoritas, pero sí he visto muchas y como estamos en el mes de espantos con Halloween e intentando recordar la mejor película de terror para el concurso de cine TV, me acordé de que de niña disfruté por varios años de una saga de terror de los años 80 dirigido por Wes Craven, se trata de Pesadilla en Elm Street mejor conocida en Latinoamérica como Freddy krueger, personaje de ficción que aterrorizaba a niños y adolescentes.

Freddy krueger era un espíritu que atormentaba en sueños a sus víctimas, es decir, en pesadillas. Este espíritu acosaba y mataba a los jóvenes que se atrevían a tener un sueño profundo, Freddy era un asesino en serie que asesinado a 20 niños de una comunidad por el cual fue juzgado y exonerando de toda culpa siendo liberado y los padres de sus víctimas sumergidos en el dolor decidieron agarrar la justicia por sus propias manos y quemarlo en vida, luego de su muerte y en forma de espíritu o fantasma seguiría cobrando venganza, por eso se ve con el rostro desfigurado, quemado y derretido con huecos haciéndolo desagradable a la vista, con un suéter de rayas y con un guante de cuero con cuchillas bien afiladas que era el arma más aterradora de la época.

They always showed this saga on Sundays at 8 or 9 pm and just when I was watching these movies my mother had the habit of sending me to buy items such as matches and anything I needed in the kitchen at those hours with the streets alone and dark, I was a girl of about 8 to 12 years and came out in full advertising running to the store scared to death and looking everywhere, I felt like in the hunger games, being the bait but in this case of Freddy Krueger.

Esta película fue tan exitosa qué del personaje protagónico realizaron comics, juguetes, su ropa se puso de moda, además que se convirtió en una saga de 9 películas donde perseguía a una chica en especial que siempre se escapaba, y se pudo conocer en una de esas secuelas que su madre era una monja que había sido internada en un manicomio donde fue violada por varios hombres, justificando todas sus acciones y buscando en el espectador un poco de compasión para este personaje.

Siempre pasaban esta saga los días domingo a las 8 o 9 pm y justo cuando estaba viendo estas películas mi madre tenía la costumbre de mandarme a comprar artículos como fósforos y cualquier cosa que necesitara en la cocina a esas horas con las calles solas y oscuras, yo era una niña de unos 8 a 12 años y salía en plena publicidad corriendo hacia la tienda muerta de miedo y mirando hacia todas partes, me sentía como en los juegos del hambre, siendo la carnada pero en este caso de Freddy krueger.

Creo que ha sido la película de terror con más secuelas y una de las más populares de la historia, debido a todo el marketing que se produjo con su idea. Incluso se llegó a hacer un crossover con otro personaje de terror. Si no me equivoco, creo que fue con Jason Voorhees. Después de tantas secuelas, yo me aburrí y las últimas dos películas no las llegué a verlas bien, ya no las disfrutaba, pero sin duda Freddy Krueger ha sido una de las películas de terror más populares y taquilleras de la industria.
