Surprise is a primary emotion that makes us react in different ways and arises from something unexpected, strange and out of the ordinary, in most cases it manifests itself in exclamations, expressions of unexpected laughter or astonishment. In cinema, the feeling of surprise is easily found in the comedy genre, as any scene can cause uncontrollable laughter.

When I read this week's cinetv competition entry the first film that came to my mind was the trilogy of My Girlfriend's Family, starring and produced by Robert De Niro with performances by Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, Owen Wilson, Jessica Alba, big Hollywood stars.

La sorpresa es una emoción primaria que nos hace reaccionar de formas diferentes y surge por algo inesperado, extraño y fuera de lo común. En la mayoría de los casos, se manifiesta con exclamaciones, expresiones de risas inesperadas o asombros. En el cine, el sentimiento de la sorpresa lo encontramos con facilidad en el género de comedia, ya que cualquier escena nos puede causar risas incontrolables.

Cuando leí la propuesta del concurso de cinetv de esta semana la primera película que me vino a la mente fue la trilogía de la familia de mi novia, protagonizada y producida por Robert De Niro con actuaciones de Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, Owen Wilson, Jessica Alba, grandes estrellas de Hollywood.

Plot

The first version of this film came out in 2000, and I saw it in South America under the title: the family of my girlfriend, it was so successful that they have released a sequel of two more films, which are titled the little Focker alluding to the surname and the parents are them.

Of this trilogy the one I have seen the most times is the last one when there is already a bigger and more complete family with the respective in-laws of each boyfriend who are now husbands and their children, I never get tired of watching this film because it is timeless and never goes out of fashion, because all the circumstances that surround the family can be seen in real life, only that in the film they make them so exaggerated that everything becomes crazy. It is the eternal struggle between the son-in-law who wants approval and the father-in-law who is sure that his daughter made a mistake in choosing a husband and wants to catch him red-handed and prove that he is a bad match, making the life of these gentlemen a living hell because of their mistrust.

Argumento
La primera versión de esta película salió en el año 2000, y yo la vi en Sudamérica bajo el título de: la familia de mi novia. Fue tan exitosa que han sacado una secuela de dos películas más, que se titulan los pequeños Focker haciendo alusión al apellido y los padres son ellos.

De esta trilogía la que he visto un mayor número de veces es la última cuando ya existe una familia más grande y completa con los suegros respectivos de cada novio que ahora son esposos y sus hijos, no me canso de ver esta película porque es atemporal nunca pasa de moda, pues todas las circunstancias que envuelven a la familia pueden verse en la vida real, solo que en la película las hacen tan exageradas que todo se vuelve una locura. Es la eterna lucha entre el yerno que desea aprobación y el suegro que está seguro de que su hija se equivocó al elegir esposo y quiere agarrarlo con las manos en la masa y demostrar que es un mal partido, haciendo que la vida de estos caballeros se vuelva un infierno por su desconfianza.

Opinion

There are many evils, revenge, mistakes and embarrassments that the male characters in this trilogy are subjected to, but at the end of it all, they are a beautiful family that adores and understands each other, each member is important, and they end up accepting that they are valuable to each other's lives, the father-in-law who is a former CIA member recognizes that his son-in-law is a good father and ends up loving him by seeing that he loves his daughter, on the contrary, the son-in-law who survives every assassination attempt and trap of his father-in-law also understands that he does it out of love. So, in the end we can reflect that even if we are not happy with the new people who join our home, we must respect the decisions of others and accept the qualities of each one, love ends up being the predominant value as an example of family in this film.

Son muchas las maldades, venganzas, equivocaciones y vergüenzas que se someten los personajes masculinos de esta trilogía, pero al final de todo, son una hermosa familia que se adora y se comprende, cada miembro es importante y terminan aceptando que son valiosos para la vida de los demás, el suegro que es un ex miembro de CIA reconoce que su yerno es un buen padre y termina por quererlo al ver que ama a su hija, por el contrario, el yerno que sobrevive a cada intento de asesinato y trampa de su suegro también entiende que lo hace por amor. Entonces, al final podemos reflexionar que, aunque no estemos felices con las nuevas personas que se suman a nuestro hogar, debemos respetar las decisiones de los demás y aceptar las cualidades de cada quien. El amor termina siendo el valor predominante como ejemplo de familia en esta película.
