Years ago I heard about cases of kidnappings in Mexico between different family members, fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, and between siblings for pornographic videos. I found this news disturbing and did not investigate further.

As I like to watch movies based on real events, I chose one called Daniel and Ana about a kidnapping, but I did not know anything else, the protagonist seemed to me to know and I am not sure, but I think I have seen her in soap operas, the film lasted only 90 minutes, enough time for suspense and drama to seep through my veins and take away my emotional peace for several days, the impression was so strong that I had 3 consecutive days of nightmares, where I woke up about to scream, I saw it more than a month ago, but I will always remember it, since neither the strongest horror movie, nor the Investigation Discovery programs caused me so much impact.

The movie tells the story of means and that's what I'm going to review. The producers relied on information from the press media. It is about an upper class family composed of the parents and two children Daniel a teenager and Ana the older sister, they all treated each other with love respect and trust, they went on vacations and had a bright future as a family, they were all preparing for Ana's wedding, she was in a relationship and her boyfriend had offered her a job in Spain, but Ana was so attached to her family that she told him flatly that if they got married they had to stay in Mexico condition that the groom accepted.

On the other hand, Daniel was anxious to have his own car, but his parents told him that when he came of age, he also had a girlfriend, but had not yet become intimate with her. He was a studious young man, and had dreams of participating in international marathons.

Hace años escuché sobre casos de secuestros en México entre diversos familiares, padres e hijas, madres e hijos, y entre hermanos para videos pornográficos. Esta noticia me resultó perturbadora y no indague más sobre el tema.

Como me gusta ver películas de basadas en hechos reales, escogí una que se llama Daniel y Ana sobre un secuestro, pero no sabía nada más, la protagonista me pareció conocía y nos estoy segura, pero creo que la he visto en telenovelas, la película duró solo de 90 minutos, tiempo suficiente para que suspenso y el drama se colara por mis venas y me quitará la paz emocional por varios días, la impresión fue tan fuerte que tuve 3 días seguidos de pesadillas, donde despertaba a punto de gritar, la vi hace más de un mes, pero siempre la recordaré, ya que ni la película de terror más fuerte, ni los programas de Investigation Discovery me causaron tanto impacto.

La película cuenta la historia de medios y es lo que voy a reseñar. Los productores se basaron en la información de los medios de prensa. Se trata de una familia de clase alta compuesta de los padres y dos hijos Daniel un adolescente y Ana la hermana mayor, todos se trataban con amor respeto y confianza, salían de vacaciones y tenían un futuro brillante como familia, todos se estaban preparando para la boda de Ana, ella tenía una relación y su novio le habían ofrecido un trabajo en España, pero Ana estaba tan apegada a su familia que le dijo rotundamente que sí se casaban tenían que quedarse en México condición que el novio aceptó.

Por otra parte, Daniel estaba ansioso por tener carro propio, pero sus padres le dijeron que cuando cumpliera la mayoría de edad, él también tenía una novia, pero aún no había llegado a intimar con ella. Era un joven estudioso, y tenía el sueño de participar en maratones internacionales.

The sibling relationship was beautiful, they were very close, Ana took care of Daniel and he, for his part, admired his sister and did not want her to move away after their wedding. They played jokes on each other, they went out together to run and play sports.

One morning two men kidnap them in broad daylight, and under threats of knowing who they were and knowing their family, they blindfold them and put them in the suitcase to take them to a house, they enter a room with lights and cameras, everything was prepared for a filming, they force them to undress and have intimate relations between them 😭, with crying and pressure they give in to save their lives although in the end, they thought they would kill them.

This is the first scene that struck me, and it was so well done that director Michel Franco deserves recognition. At no time do the actors' private parts appear in the frame, so nothing is censored; however, we are as spectators next to the three hostages in the scene, who are directing the brothers, telling them what to do, yelling at them and pressuring them. I lived the situation, just like Ana, I also screamed. I think I pulled my hair out while I was watching, it was terrible.

When it was over, I thought the worst was over and I was wrong. I knew they had survived to tell the story. They were released to go home as if nothing had happened. The logical thing is that they would report it immediately, but after such a shock who would, they just went home without a word to bathe and sleep.

The days passed and both brothers changed their habits, became depressed and stopped talking, and hid this fact as best as possible. Ana canceled the wedding for no reason and Daniel went crazy looking for the video on the web. Without telling anyone what had happened, Ana sought help for her with a psychologist there little by little she overcame it, but Daniel was very bad, of course he would be the most affected because of his age, the boy stopped going to study and although the parents found out they did not pressure him, they gave him the car he wanted, but he had no expression of joy.

At the doctor's encouragement, Ana took Daniel for a consultation, but the boy could not speak, and later returned alone, but he could not be consulted either. At this point the family was broken, the parents were worried about their two sons without knowing what was wrong with them. And I, as a spectator, was waiting for them to denounce, I felt pressure and that everything would explode.

Ana wanted Daniel to attend, but she herself was distant and absent. In this part I felt angry towards Ana because she was the eldest and Daniel was not to blame. Her duty was to report the kidnapping as difficult as it was, but things got worse when one night Daniel attacked Ana, in her room and in her parents' house, raping her 😭😭😭😭😭

La relación de hermanos era hermosa, ellos eran muy unidos, Ana cuidaba de Daniel y él, por su parte, admiraba a su hermana y no quería que se alejara después de su boda. Se hacían bromas, salían juntos a correr y hacer deportes.

Un mañana dos hombres los secuestran a plena luz del día, y bajo amenazas de saber quienes eran y de conocer a su familia, los vendan y los meten en la maleta para llevarlos a una casa, entran en una habitación con luces y cámaras, todo estaba preparado para una filmación, los obligan a desvestirse y a tener relaciones íntimas entre ellos 😭, con el llanto y la presión ellos ceden para salvar sus vidas aunque al final, creían que los matarían.

Esta es la primera escena que me impactó, y fue tan bien realizada que el director Michel Franco merece un reconocimiento. En ningún momento salen en el cuadro las partes íntimas de los actores, por lo que no se censura nada; sin embargo, estamos como espectadores junto a los tres secuestrados de la escena, quienes dirigen a los hermanos, les dicen qué hacer, les gritan y los presionan. Viví la situación, al igual que Ana, también grité. Creo que me arranqué el cabello mientras veía, fue terrible todo.

Cuando terminó, pensé que lo peor había pasado y me equivoqué. Sabía que habían sobrevivido para contar la historia. Los dejaron libres para que regresaran a sus casas como si nada hubiese pasado. Lo lógico es que denunciarán inmediatamente, pero después de semejante conmoción quien lo haría, ellos solo regresaron a sus casas sin emitir palabra para bañarse y dormir.

Los días pasaron y ambos hermanos cambiaron sus hábitos, se deprimen y dejaron de hablar, y ocultaron lo mejor posible este hecho. Ana canceló la boda sin razón y Daniel se enloqueció buscando el video en la web. Sin contarle a nadie lo que había pasado, Ana busco ayuda para ella con una psicóloga allí poco a poco lo fue superando, pero Daniel estaba muy mal, por supuesto que sería el más afectado por su edad, el chico dejó de ir a estudiar y aunque los padres se enteraron no lo presionaron, le regalaron el auto que quería, pero no tuvo expresión de alegría.

Por motivación de la doctora, Ana llevó a Daniel a consulta, pero el chico no pudo hablar, y después regresó solo, pero tampoco pudo consultarse. A estas alturas la familia estaba quebrada, los padres estaban preocupados por sus dos hijos sin saber qué les pasaba. Y yo, como espectadora, esperaba que denunciaran, sentía presión y que todo estallaría.

Los hermanos ya cruzaban palabras solo por el tema de la psicóloga, Ana quería que asistiera Daniel, pero ella misma estaba distanciada y ausente. En esta parte me dio enojo hacia Ana porque ella era la mayor y Daniel no tuvo la culpa. Su deber era denunciar el secuestro por más difícil que fuera, pero las cosas empeoraron cuando una noche Daniel atacó a Ana, en su habitación y en la casa de sus padres, violándola 😭😭😭

This was the hardest and most difficult scene I have ever seen, although in the first scene they were naked and in this one they had clothes on, they still didn't show their private parts, it was a fight scene. Actors Dario Yazbek Bernal and Marimar Vega did an excellent job. I can't find words to express what I felt with this scene, it was a whirlwind of emotions: anger, fear, guilt, pain, frustration. I ended up crying with a deep feeling and I was angry with myself for watching this movie, then I got over that anger with me.

About Daniel's behavior, far from criticizing it, I understand it, and it seemed normal to me that he expressed all his trauma in this way, although it is highly inappropriate, remember that he is a teenager without having had previous sexual relations. What is painful and criticizable is the porn industry mafia.

Continuing with the review, Ana wanted to run away from home, obviously she did not feel safe and took refuge with the boyfriend, reconciling and accelerating the marriage. A lot happened, but that's as far as the movie went, with a marriage, full of suspense and drama that culminated.

And that's when I fold my arms and ask, "What happened? Where are the other details, at what point everything was discovered, the family, how they found out, what happened to Daniel and Ana's life, how she told her husband. Why didn't they show the other facts? If it had answered my questions, surely the movie would have part 2, and that is what people like me wanted to know: the continuation of their lives, how they overcame it and if there was anyone arrested for this crime.

To say that I liked this movie is complicated, since I feel that half of the story was missing. I guess, to protect the real people, I can't say I didn't like it either. What I am sure of is that it made me suffer and traumatized me to the point of giving me nightmares for several days. I recommend it for adults with the caveat that if you are sensitive, be prepared, at least you know what it's about and it won't catch you off guard like it did me.

Esta fue la escena más dura y difícil que yo haya visto, aunque la primera escena estaban desnudos y en esta tenían ropa, igual no se mostraron sus partes íntimas, fue una escena de lucha. Los actores Darío Yazbek Bernal y Marimar Vega lo hicieron excelente. No encuentro palabras para expresar lo que sentí con esta escena, fue un remolino de emociones: rabia, miedo, culpa, dolor, frustración. Terminé llorando con un sentimiento profundo y me dio rabia conmigo misma por estar viendo esta película, después se me pasó esa rabia conmigo.

Sobre la conducta de Daniel, lejos de criticarla, la entiendo, y me pareció normal que todo su trauma lo expresara así, aunque es sumamente inapropiado, recordemos que es un adolescente sin haber tenido relaciones sexuales previas. Lo que sí es doloroso y criticable es la mafia de la industria pornográfica.

Continuando con la reseña, Ana quería salir de su casa corriendo, obviamente no se sentía segura y se refugió con el novio, reconciliándose y acelerando el matrimonio. Pasaron muchas cosas, pero hasta aquí llegó la película, con un matrimonio, lleno de suspenso y drama que culminó.

Y es cuando me cruzo de brazos y reclamo. ¿Qué pasó? Dónde están los demás detalles, en qué momento se descubrió todo, la familia, cómo se enteró, qué fue de la vida de Daniel y Ana, cómo se lo dijo a su esposo. ¿Por qué no mostraron los demás hechos? Si hubiese respondido mis interrogantes, seguramente la película tendría parte 2, y es lo que personas como yo querían saber: la continuación de sus vidas, cómo la superaron y si hubo alguien detenido por este delito.

Decir que esta película me gustó, es complicado, ya que siento que faltó la mitad de la historia. Supongo que, por proteger a las personas reales, tampoco puedo decir que no me gustó. De lo que sí estoy segura es que me hizo sufrir y me traumó al punto de darme pesadillas por varios días. La recomiendo para adultos con la advertencia de cuidado si eres sensible, prepárate, por lo menos ya sabes de qué se trata y no los agarro desprevenido como a mí.
