Hello to all movie lovers! A few years ago I had a stage as a movie buff at home in which I took advantage of watching all the movies I had available, going so far as to review my mother's movie repertoire. That's when I saw Top Gun, which is about my mom's favorite movie of all time. I had not had the opportunity to see it and I took advantage of that time to do so. I must mention that I quite enjoyed it. My mother told me that during the time the movie was released, it was quite an event in the country, everyone was so euphoric that they wanted to study aviation ha ha even my mother told us that she wanted to join the navy, but in that time, my grandmother did not allow it. So upon hearing about the second part, I managed to get it to watch with her when she was on view. It was a very pleasant experience, because there is nothing like seeing another person moved by their favorite film.

The film's plot takes place years after the first installment, so we find ourselves with a much more adult Maverick Mitchell but no less reckless for that. And it is precisely his passion for risk that drives him daily to strive to break his record, even if it means breaking some rules. Despite the years, the man does not get carried away by commemorations and ranks, remaining doing flight tests for airplanes in his passion for flying. Despite his efforts, the high-ranking ones plan to close the Darkstar project to which he belongs, since they consider that the work could be carried out by drones of the highest technology. But that does not stop the reckless Maverick, who on the same day that the rear admiral arrives at the place to terminate the cessation of operations, not only takes off with the intention of exceeding the speed of Mach 10, leaving those who monitor the flight speechless in ground, but dares to go beyond orders and continues with the flight, causing not only to break the established flight record, but also to the destruction of the plane itself.

After not obeying the orders of his superior, flying and exceeding speed during a flight test, the future for Maverick seems to be going downhill, as Rear Admiral Chester has every reason to throw him out, but fate has a card up his sleeve that appears unexpectedly in the form of a call to be part of a group of elite aviators, whom Maverick must train to carry out a complicated and risky mission of the utmost importance, which requires to be carried out without margin of error. The commander of the United States fleet Iceman, knows that Maverick is the perfect man for the job and that is how he begins this new adventure.

In this way, a Maverick veteran will find himself with the reality of egocentric young aviators who do not believe that someone like him is capable of teaching them something that can help them in the mission, but as expected, the expert aviator will not be intimidated by the attitudes of his students and with the example of his flying mastery, he shows them that high technology is useless without the ingenuity and cunning to react at the right moment.

In the same way, Maverick will find that in the group of his students, there is the son of his best friend, who unfortunately died on a flight years ago. That past incident seems to have left a deep resentment in the boy, who holds him responsible for the death of his father, doing everything in his power to disobey him and to show him that he has all the skills to be the better.

It's a pretty exciting movie, despite the fact that these types of topics are not one of my favorites, I must confess that I really enjoyed it. The flight scenes are truly amazing and kept me glued to my seat as I watched them mesmerized. But what I liked the most was noticing my mother's emotion when watching the film, I made comparisons between the first installment and this one, as well as weighing up the reality that many of the jobs where men were the main focus are now supplanted by technology, while my mother did not think about those things at all, she was happy to see her hero once again living a new adventure and it was fantastic, she really enjoyed it more than me and it showed me that a lot of us have lost the enjoyment of films for seeking to make comparisons or analyze them too much (something that happens to me too often). As a final anecdote, now when my sister and I don't know what decision to make, sometimes we mention "You know what Maverick said: Don't think, act" and we end up laughing. Sometimes we have to be risky and trust our abilities.

¡Hola a todos los amantes del cine! Hace unos años atrás tuve una etapa de cinéfila en casa en la que aproveché de ver todas las películas que tenía a disposición, llegando hasta revisar el repertorio de películas de mi madre. Fue allí cuando vi Top Gun, que se trata de la película favorita de mi madre de todos los tiempos. Yo no había tenido la oportunidad de verla y aproveché en ese tiempo de hacerlo. Debo mencionar que la disfruté bastante. Mi madre me comentó que durante ese tiempo en que se estrenó la película, fue todo un acontecimiento en el país, todo el mundo estaba tan eufórico que querían estudiar aviación ja ja incluso mi madre nos contó que ella quería ingresar en la marina, pero en ese tiempo, mi abuela no se lo permitió. Así que al enterarme de la segunda parte, me las arreglé para conseguirla para verla con ella cuando estuvo de vista. Fue una experiencia muy agradable, porque no hay nada como ver a otra persona emocionada por su filme favorito.

La trama de la película transcurre años después de la primera entrega, por lo que nos encontramos con un Maverick Mitchell mucho más adulto pero no por eso, menos temerario. Y es precisamente su pasión por el riesgo lo que lo lleva diariamente a esforzarse en lograr romper sus marcas de vuelo, aún si eso significa romper también algunas reglas. A pesar de los años, el hombre no se deja llevar por las conmemoraciones y los rangos, permaneciendo haciendo pruebas de vuelo para aviones en su pasión por volar. A pesar de sus esfuerzos, los de alto rango tienen pensado cerrar el proyecto Darkstar al cual pertenece, pues consideran que el trabajo podrá ser realizado por drones de la más alta tecnología. Pero eso no detiene al temerario Maverick, quién el mismo día en que llega el contraalmirante al lugar a dar por terminado el cese de las operaciones, no sólo despega con las intenciones de superar la velocidad Mach 9, dejando boquiabiertos a quienes monitorean el vuelo en tierra, sino que se atreve a ir más allá de las órdenes y sigue con el vuelo, provocando no sólo romper el récord de vuelo establecido, sino también la destrucción del avión en sí.

Luego de que no obedeciera las órdenes de su superior, de volar y de excederse en la velocidad durante una prueba de vuelo, el futuro para Maverick parece que va en picada, pues el contraalmirante Chester tiene todas las razones para echarlo, pero el destino tiene una carta bajo la manga que se muestra inesperadamente en forma de una llamada a formar parte de un grupo de aviadores de élite, a quienes Maverick deberá entrenar para realizar una complicada misión arriesgada y de suma importancia, que requiere ser realizada sin margen de error. El comandante de la flota de Estados Unidos Iceman, sabe que Maverick es el hombre perfecto para el trabajo y es así como inicia ésta nueva aventura.

De éste modo un veterano Maverick se encontrará con la realidad de jóvenes aviadores egocéntricos que no creen que alguien como él sea capaz de enseñarles algo que les pueda servir en la misión, pero como era de esperarse, el experto aviador no se dejará amedrentar por las actitudes de sus alumnos y con el ejemplo de su maestría volando, les va demostrando que de nada sirve la alta tecnología sin el ingenio y la astucia para reaccionar en el momento preciso.

Del mismo modo, Maverick se encontrará con que en el grupo de sus alumnos, se halla el hijo del que hubo sido su mejor amigo, quién lamentablemente falleció en un vuelo años atrás. Aquel incidente del pasado parece haber dejado un profundo resentimiento en el muchacho, quien lo responsabiliza de la muerte de su padre, haciendo todo lo que esté en su alcance para desobedecerlo y de demostrarle que tiene todas las aptitudes para ser el mejor.

Es una película bastante emocionante, a pesar de que éste tipo de temas no son de mis favoritos, debo confesar que la disfruté bastante. Las escenas de vuelo son realmente increíbles y me mantuvieron pegada al asiento mientras las observaba como hipnotizada. Pero lo que más me gustó fue notar la emoción de mi madre al ver la película, yo hacia comparaciones entre la primera entrega y ésta, así como sopesando la realidad de que muchos de los trabajos en donde el hombre era el principal eje, ahora son suplantados por la tecnología, mientras que mi madre para nada pensó en esas cosas, ella se alegró de ver una vez más a su héroe viviendo una nueva aventura y fue fantástico, realmente la disfrutó más que yo y me demostró que mucho de nosotros hemos perdido el disfrute de las películas por buscar de hacer comparaciones o de analizarlas demasiado (algo que me pasa con demasiada frecuencia). Como anécdota final, ahora cuando mi ,hermana y yo, no sabemos que decisión tomar, a veces mencionamos "Ya sabes lo que dijo Maverick: No pienses, actúa" y acabamos riendo. A veces hay que ser arriesgados y confiar en nuestras habilidades.
