Buenos días, buenas tardes o buenas noches, damas y caballeros. Llevo algo de tiempo desaparecido por acá en esta maravillosa comunidad, he de admitir que sinceramente sí es mi culpa, no me ha dado ganas de ver nada recientemente (algo que le ocurre a mi cerebro de vez en cuando), tengo varias cosas descargadas pero aún no las he visto, hasta bueno, ahora (sino no estarías leyendo esto, ¿no?), por lo que les traigo evidentemente una reseña sobre una película que me llamó mucho la atención por el concepto que trata, me pareció bastante original y estaba en Netflix así que era algo con lo que no podía dudar mucho, aunque de lo que podría quejarme es de que fuese un musical, ya que no soy muy fanático de ese género de películas pero en esta ocasión me salió mal juzgar antes de tiempo, error mío, éste musical en definitiva me ha encantado porque no se la pasan cantando durante todo el rato, así que terminé muy feliz con eso además de que las canciones son demasiado buenas. Esta película en cuestión trata de llevar el cuento de La Bella y la Bestia al mundo tecnológico en el que nos encontramos hoy en día, intentando dar un mensaje optimista al espectador sobre cómo no todo lo que hay en internet es maldad y por qué no debemos de juzgar a quién está detrás de la pantalla, todo esto de forma realista; usualmente en películas que tratan mundos tecnológicos el mensaje suele ser más desmoralizante y enfocado a lo peor que te podría ocurrir, que se trate de ver lo bueno termina siendo un concepto digno de ver y analizar, así que sin más dilación, hablemos de Belle.

Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I've been absent from this wonderful community for some time now, I must admit it is truly my fault, I haven't felt like watching anything recently (something that happens to my brain from time to time), I have several things downloaded but I haven't watched them yet, well, until now (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this, right?), so I clearly bring you a review of a movie that caught my attention because of the concept it deals with, it seemed quite original and it was on Netflix so it was something I couldn't doubt much, although what I could complain about is that it was a musical, since I'm not a big fan of that genre of movies but this time I was wrong to judge prematurely, my mistake, this musical definitely delighted me because they don't spend the whole time singing, so I ended up very happy with that and the songs are really good. This particular movie tries to bring the tale of Beauty and the Beast to the technological world we live in today, trying to give an optimistic message to the viewer about how not everything on the internet is evil and why we shouldn't judge who is behind the screen, all of this in a realistic way; usually in movies that deal with technological worlds the message tends to be more demoralizing and focused on the worst that could happen to you, so the fact that it tries to focus on the good becomes a concept worth seeing and analyzing, so without further ado, let's talk about Belle.

La película nos pone en la piel de Suzu, una chica que vive en un pueblito junto a su padre pero que tras la pérdida de su madre, ha perdido toda inspiración por todo aquello que alguna vez amó, la música (además ya ni puede cantar, él solo pensar en eso le causa repulsión), provocando que se convierta en una persona solitaria que ni tiene ganas de hablar con los demás sólo con su mejor amiga (causando preocupación en algunos viejos amigos), pero todo esto cambiará de repente cuando conozca la aplicación de "U", un mundo virtual que funciona como una red social donde todos pueden comenzar de cero y donde se ven potenciadas tus habilidades ocultas de las personas mediante la creación de un avatar, su lema es que técnicamente puedes cambiar el mundo. Al crear Suzu su avatar llamado Belle, la aplicación le hace un avatar mucho más bonito y llamativo de lo que es ella en la vida real, allí Suzu descubrirá que puede volver a hacer aquello que perdió, el cantar, causando que con una simple canción, se convierta en la artista más famosa de la plataforma, todo esto influye positivamente en Suzu, que se le puede ver más feliz durante su vida diaria y con mucho más ánimo para hacer las cosas. Un día en "U" mientras Bell estaba en medio de un concierto, éste se verá interrumpido por el usuario al que todos conocen como el dragón o la "Bestia", quien tiene un poder incomparable y además está lleno de moretones, al ser alguien incomprendido por todas las demás personas, llamará la atención de Bell sintiéndose identificada con él en ciertos aspectos, queriendo ella saber después quien es él en la vida real y si es realmente malvado como dicen, comenzando así la verdadera aventura de Suzu.

The movie puts us in the shoes of Suzu, a girl who lives in a small town with her father but after the loss of her mother, has lost all inspiration for everything she once loved, music (she can't even sing anymore, just thinking about it disgusts her), causing her to become a lonely person who doesn't even feel like talking to others except for her best friend (causing concern in some old friends), but all this will suddenly change when she discovers the "U" app, a virtual world that functions as a social network where everyone can start from scratch and where hidden abilities of people are enhanced through the creation of an avatar, its motto is that you can technically change the world. When Suzu creates her avatar named Belle, the app makes a much prettier and more eye-catching avatar for her than she is in real life, there Suzu will discover that she can do again what she lost, singing, causing her to become the most famous artist on the platform with just a simple song, all of this has a positive influence on Suzu, who can be seen happier during her daily life and with much more enthusiasm to do things. One day in "U" while Belle was in the middle of a concert, it will be interrupted by the user known to all as the dragon or the "Beast", who has an incomparable power and is also bruised all over, being misunderstood by all the other people, catching Belle's attention feeling identified with him in certain aspects, wanting to know who he is in real life and if he is really evil as they say, thus beginning Suzu's true adventure.

Lo que es más interesante de esta película es que pareciera que estuviésemos viendo dos películas en vez de una sola, porque durante el transcurso de la trama estaremos cruzando entre dos mundos, tanto el real como el digital, teniendo en cada uno de ellos Suzu problemas a resolver, relacionados al amor, a la amistad o quizás a la investigación, esto último en ayuda con su mejor amiga. Lo que puede impactar más al espectador es quizás lo tan bien construido que está el mundo digital, donde se usa un CGI que impactaría a cualquiera que lo vea, se siente tan vivo por lo tan bien hecho que está que es increíble y esto ayuda mucho en la película ya que transmite de forma realista como son las redes sociales, se muestran tanto comentarios negativos como positivos, la envidia y la alegría de las otras personas, además se refleja el cómo bajo el anonimato las personas pueden tomar decisiones que no podrían dar si no es por él, ayudándoles después a tomar éstas mismas decisiones en la realidad, como Suzu que vuelve a cantar o que consigue ayudar a otras personas. Aunque no lo creas, la realidad no se queda atrás, donde se usa una preciosidad de animación tradicional, con muchos detalles y carisma, con además un estilo de dibujo que me gustó bastante, acá veremos cómo Suzu va mejorando mediante el uso de la aplicación "U" y cómo poco a poco se va abriendo más hacia las demás personas, expresando mejor sus sentimientos y dejando sus miedos atrás, además es donde ocurre la verdaderas situaciones de romance de la película (el cuento de la Bella y la Bestia se transforma en algo muy diferente), todo esto en un ambiente escolar donde se maneja la presión de lidiar con tus compañeros de clase y los comentarios de éstos mismos.

What is most interesting about this movie is that it seems like we are watching two movies instead of just one, because throughout the course of the plot we will be crossing between two worlds, both the real and the digital, with Suzu facing problems to solve in each of them, related to love, friendship, or perhaps investigation, the latter with the help of her best friend. What may impact the viewer the most is perhaps how well-constructed the digital world is, using CGI that would impress anyone who sees it, it feels so lifelike because of how well done it is that it's incredible and this helps a lot in the movie as it realistically conveys how social media works, showing both negative and positive comments, envy, and joy from other people, also reflecting how under anonymity people can make decisions they wouldn't dare to make otherwise, later helping them make these same decisions in reality, like Suzu who starts singing again or helping other people. Believe it or not, reality is equally captivating, using a beautiful traditional animation, with lots of details and charm, and a drawing style that I quite liked, here we will see how Suzu improves through the use of the "U" app and gradually opens up more to other people, expressing her feelings better and leaving her fears behind, it is also where the true romance situations of the movie take place (the tale of Beauty and the Beast transforms into something very different), all in a school environment where the pressure of dealing with your classmates and their comments is very present.

Si esperas ver la recreación de la Bella y la Bestia de Disney dentro de esta película, déjame decirte que no la vas a encontrar, solo se toman algunos aspectos para desembocar en algo con mucho mayor impacto que una historia de amor, tanto así que la relación que se da en la película es una de amistad y confianza, Suzu ya está enamorada desde hace años de otra persona y eso no va a cambiar, así que en ningún momento debes de hacerte ilusiones, aunque un aspecto que me gustó mucho es ese juego de ver quién es la Bestia, te hacen dudar a ti también y hace que vayas sacando tus propias conclusiones para luego terminar con un plot twist bastante inesperado. Suzu lo que realmente quiere saber es por qué la razón de los moretones de la Bestia y por qué le tiene tanto resentimiento a las demás personas, quiere hacer que él por primera vez confíe en alguien para demostrarle que no está solo, que puede contar con ella. La única falla de esta película es el final, que simplemente si le das muchas vueltas no le vas a encontrar sentido porque las cosas no son así de sencillas, se necesitaba una resolución más fuerte que simplemente no se dió pero el mensaje principal está dicho, a veces el Internet también nos puede ayudar a ser nosotros mismos pudiendo luego cambiar nuestra realidad a mejor, haciendo lo que realmente nos gusta y ayudando a los demás que conozcamos en el medio. Por último, he de mencionar que las canciones de esta película son lo máximo, de verdad te llegan el alma con las letras de las canciones, pudiésemos decir que es la primera vez que lloro escuchando canciones, algo increíble. Sin lugar a dudas recomiendo esta película, la animación es un espectáculo del otro mundo y las canciones son otro espectáculo más, totalmente digno de admirar.

If you expect to see Disney's Beauty and the Beast recreation within this movie, let me tell you that you won't find it, only some aspects are taken to lead to something with much greater impact than a love story, so much so that the relationship in the movie is one of friendship and trust. Suzu has been in love with someone else for years and that's not going to change, so you shouldn't get your hopes up at any point, although one aspect that I really liked is that play of guessing who the Beast is, they also make you doubt and make you draw your own conclusions to then end with a quite unexpected twist. What Suzu really wants to know is the reason behind the Beast's bruises and why he holds so much resentment towards others, she wants to make him trust someone for the first time to show him that he's not alone, that he can count on her. The only flaw of this movie is the ending, which simply won't make sense if you overthink it because things are not that simple, a stronger resolution was needed that just wasn't given, but the main message is clear, sometimes the Internet can also help us be ourselves, being able to later change our reality for the better, doing what we truly enjoy and helping others we meet along the way. Finally, I must mention that the songs in this movie are amazing, truly touching your soul with the lyrics of the songs, we could say that it's the first time I cry listening to songs, something incredible. Without a doubt, I recommend this movie, the animation is out of this world and the songs are another spectacle, totally worthy of admiration.
