MAXTON HALL SERIES'S REVIEW
This time too, I watched a series on Amazon Prime. It's about an elite school and a poor girl who gets into the school on a scholarship. Maxton Hall is an adaptation of the book Save Me by Mona Kasten.
Maxton Hall is an elite high school. Many of the conglomerate's children attend the school. Apart from the prestige, the school's direct network can also penetrate prestigious universities in the world, one of which is Oxfodr University, which is the target of many Maxton Hall students.
Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) is an anomaly at Maxton Hall. She is a student who can enter Maxton Hall on a scholarship. We can clearly imagine how Ruby is underestimated by some of the residents of MAxton Hall. However, instead of finding a poor and weak protagonist, Ruby Bell is something else. The type of Alpha Female that James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) could be attracted to. The Beaufort sisters, James and Lidya are also important figures in Ruby Bell's story at Maxton Hall.
Ruby, who is aiming for a recommendation letter to be called Oxford, has to deal with James who tries to disturb her because of Ruby's unintentional problem with Lidya. Ruby is the head of the student organisation who is also trusted to coordinate the fundraising night at Maxton Hall, but because of her feud with James, by her principal, the two are punished to work together to make the fundraising night at Maxton Hall a success.
The clichéd story of enemies to lovers begins. Intrigue between James‘ parents who don't want James to be with poor Ruby, intrigue between James’ parents and their own two children becomes fierce and complicated.
- Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten)
Ruby Bell is a very strong leader. Her principles are unwavering, and although she is not from the elite, she believes that she can enter Oxford on a path of achievement. She is unyielding and not the kind of person who likes to be the centre of attention because she just wants to focus on her goals without distractions. Ruby also loves her family very much. She worked hard to build a stair lift for her wheelchair-bound father.
Ruby Bell is guilt-ridden and her traumatised past makes her cautious under pressure.
- James Beaufort (Damian Hardung)
Handsome, tall, powerful and the future successor to the infamous Beaufort. Beaufort's family is one of the most active donors at Maxton Hall, so he feels even more powerful there. However, unlike the arrogant rich student, James only liked to date women, but he still excelled, even in rugby.
James grew up to be an arrogant and sometimes arbitrary person.a However, just like Ruby, James also has a warm and loving soul, especially when it comes to his sister, Lidya. James is also a young man burning with love, sometimes feeling like he can escape his father's influence, but it's impossible. Finally, James realised that he was nothing without Beaufort.
'Although the ending in season one seems to have a good flashback. However, we don't know for sure what will happen in the next season. Viewers must be eager for the next season in order to enjoy the next life story between Ruby and JAmes and other Maxton Hall residents after their high school days.
Maybe because it's still one season, so the climax of the series is not too serious, there are still many plot holes that need answers. So, the only thing the audience can do is wait and assume for a while.
If you love cinderella stories and the sweetness of western teenage stories, Maxton Hall is highly recommended. Although you might find it clichéd, but trust me, Damian Hardung's good looks cannot be underestimated. You will be mesmerised by his eagle-like eyes. LOL
Okay, that's all the reviews about Maxton Hall from me, see you in the next film review. See you next week...
