Entertainment Jobs Going Away

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

We have discussed the demise of Hollywood a great deal over the last year or so.

In this article, we are going to move passed Hollywood and head to another part of the world. This is going to focus upon India.

One interesting tidbit, did you know India makes the more films in a year than anyone?

India leads the world in film production, churning out between 1,500 and 2,000 movies annually. Its music industry is equally prolific, releasing a staggering 20,000 to 25,000 songs annually.

With this knowledge, anything that starts in the industry there is going to have profound effects.

For musicians, work is going to be a bit tougher to come by.

AI Expanding In The Entertainment Field

An overlooked job for musicians is providing scores films. Some of the best music is not really noticed because if provides effects for the films.

Throughout movie history, this involved human musicians creating the material.

No longer. At least this is the case for Ram Gopal Varma and the films he puts together. He is ditching human musicians for AI.

Varma said he will use the AI-generated music in ALL his projects, including movies. The entire background score on his new feature movie, called Saree, is also AI-generated, he said.

While some assert this is not happening, here we have it straight from one in the industry. The fact that he already did it for his latest movie is very telling.

So why did he go in this direction?

The short answer is humans are a pain in the behind.

Varma criticized composers for frequent deadline misses and scheduling conflicts, while accusing lyricists of failing to capture the essence of songs. He argued that these human factors often impede the creative process, making music production both time-consuming and costly. AI, he argues, delivers instantly — at “zero cost.”

Certainly there is a chance it is Varma who is the difficult one. Nevertheless, he is also calling the shots.

He also issued a dire warning for those in the industry.

“Human musicians, composers, lyricists, and singers will be vastly affected and then completely disappear in the near future as the apps keep developing at a rapid pace,” he predicted.

This is something we have repeatedly discussed. Those who are in the entertainment industry are facing disruption at a level we never saw before.

Jobs Going Away

Jobs in the music and film industry are prime targets they do not deal with safety or security issues. When dealing with a doctor or firefighter, things are vastly different.

We also do not see the same level of regulation that is associated with industries such as education or healthcare.

This means the industry is due for upheaval.

Of course, the protection that someone like Varma has could be minimal also. For the moment, he can use the tools to replace some human contributors. There will come a point where anyone can do that.

Could it there be a time when a guy like Varma is disrupted?

If AI keeps advancing, we might see this occur in a few years.

As we can see, this is a global situation. technology knows no borders. When an industry get disrupted, it happens everywhere.

The carnage is Just Getting Started. It is worth watching the entire entertainment industry because most everything, at least recorded, is changing.

This is interesting. Music has been a heavily regulated industry. I have heard of a lot of YT videos being taken down and channels closed because of copyrighted music playing in the background. If the AI will be training on protected music, then there is a possibility of some slipping out and they could face some legal issues.

I kinda expected this but not like this or so soon, we haven't even gotten to 2027 yet and the entertainment industry shambles indicator is already getting ready for the run.

Nevertheless I personally what to understand this process of music making with AI, I thought it was still at the stage of imitating a singers voice to sing, that way revenue still got to them, through copyright laws. What this sounds like is another ball game altogether, I'm quite scared though for young lads like me trying to climb the ladder of wealth it seems the ladder is being refurbished and many steps been taking out, which many have spent years to get close to.

What truly is finance and Job security I a world where AI dominate due to there efficiency, it seems the gap is on the verge of trying to never close if care isn't taken.

You mention a few things here with regards to wealth. You talk about that then jobs. A job tends not to be the path to wealth. Instead, it is assets. That is where I would say the focus should be.

An incredible amount of wealth will be generated over the next 10 years. You have to just get in on it. Of course, the challenge is finding out what that it.

As for Hollywood, yeah it shows how quickly things are moving. The singers might not be replaced but this is background music. If singers still have jobs in the films, it will be short lived.
