another visit to the Zoo

Good Morning today I will share a few shots from another visit tot he Zoo here in New Bedford this year I am making more use of the season ticket I bought than I have in previous years

The Buttonwood Park Zoo, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, United States, is a seven-acre zoo located in the center of Buttonwood Park. It is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford, with the support of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. The zoo opened in 1894 as a deer park and menagerie

The Buttonwood Park Zoo, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, is a zoo located in the center of Buttonwood Park. Opened in 1894, it is the third-oldest zoo in New England and the 12th-oldest zoo in the United States. Located on a 7 acres (2.8 ha) campus, the zoo is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford, with the support of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. It is located on part of the Buttonwood Park Historic District, and federally designated on the National Register of Historic Places.

The zoo is home to more 250 different animals made up of more than 80 different species of animals, including many that are rare and endangered

startin with a shot of one of the Bison, there easier to get shots of than many of the other animals as there in a open area with a smallish fence so easy able to get photos of without shottign through wires of cages

Wow, that's a lot more animals than I would have guessed. It must be a much bigger space than I thought. The Lynx and the Otter are probably my favorite. Nice shots!

avatar

unfortunatly a lot of the cages are smaller than I feel they should be, but that said having visited a few times and spoken to some of the staff there they do seem to be very caring for the welfare of the animals

avatar

I think that is probably true with a lot of zoos about the cages. At least the staff is good.

A zoo that is many years old and has many animals and species. It must have been a nice visit, good shots @tattoodjay 👌🏻📸

Bison are really rare animals, I've never seen them before, thanks for sharing friends.

I always enjoy a walk through the zoo. We have often bought season passes over the years. It makes it nice to be able to just go in and take a walk. Not feel like you have to see everything or make a day of it. That beaver shot at the end is excellent 👍

thanks, I must get back tothe zoo this coming week before it cools down to much

Hi, @tattoodjay, good shots!

When I go to the zoo I feel like I'm part of the staff of National Geografic. Hahaha... I try to photograph the animals without the fences showing.

(just kidding, I wanted you to know I stopped by) 👋

avatar

I do the same try and get shots without the fence being visible, I guess were all dream of being National Geographic photographers LOL
