Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather (BL anime)
The monthly quest is really challenging for me because I don't feel like watching any romance anime, but good thing I'm into BL. hahah I mostly read BL manga or manhwa, but since some of them have an anime adaptation, it's high time I tick some of them from my to-watch list. Tagging @suezoe as promised!
First off is this movie produced by Blue Lynx in 2020. My fudanshi senpai introduced the manga version to me and informed me of the movie adaptation. I personally like the manga, so I gave the animated film a try. It's called Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather. The anime version is kind of R18, so watch out. hahaha
Photos are screenshots from the anime...
This movie is basically just a glimpse of the manga. If I'm not mistaken, it only covers less than 10 chapters, so I recommend actually reading it to enjoy it more. Anyway, let me tell you about it.
The main character, Yashiro is one of the leaders of the yakuza group called Shinsekai. Before becoming a member of the organized crime syndicate, he had his share of mishaps. His past made him into this sex-crazed masochist who has given up on love. The only person he has ever fallen in love with ended up with someone else, so he sought physical relationships with no strings attached.
Doumeki entered Yashiro's life as his bodyguard. He was a former cop who just got out of prison for beating his father half to death. What he witnessed that day made him physically and sexually challenged... much to Yashiro's dismay. (lol)
Yashiro made it a rule not to lay a hand on his subordinates, but he saw himself somehow drawn or attracted to Doumeki. He made advances here and there to which the other half-heartedly accepted (?). Well, he's not blatantly refusing him, but Doumeki is just someone who has a blunted affect.
Despite his being almost emotionless, Doumeki found himself oddly attracted to Yashiro that he vows to stay by his side... unfortunately, he is someone who will never be able to satisfy his boss. As their relationship progressed, they uncovered each other's dark pasts. How will their nightmarish past affect their present? It's for you to find out!

I inserted a short trailer of the animated film above to give you a glimpse of the anime's atmosphere.
As a fan of the manga, I kind of enjoyed the film... but as I've mentioned earlier, it only covered the first few chapters... it's more on getting to know the main character's past and introducing the life they currently live. The art style and animation style are good that they give the story more depth and impact.
Despite it being kind of R-rated, the story is actually really interesting. It's dark and complicated unlike the usual fluffy BL romance stories I've watched and read. The manga actually still ongoing and I do have several chapters to catch up to. XD
Anyway, if you're interested in Yakuza-themed BL and Psychological Drama anime or manga, then this one's for you. I suggest you watch the movie first... then if it made you curious, proceed with them manga. You can start from around chapter 8 to continue. haha
Sorry if I talked more about the manga... it's because the anime is more or less just an introduction. I don't regret watching it, though. Giving life to the characters through animating them is such a plus! But really, read the manga! haha
I know BL isn't for everyone, but some plots in this genre are just too good to miss! This one may be R-rated, but if you focus on the story (especially the manga), you'll appreciate it.
Thanks for reading my post. See you around!!!

Ohhh, a Yakuza themed. I remember the manhwa I read its When The Yakuza Falls Inlove and may isa pa eh. Tapos yong iba Mafia naman. And some of them mejo dark din talaga with lot of sheeeexx, gahaha. Anyways this one's really interesting. I'm not sure if I will like it though, i'm kinda avoiding a Psychological drama, mejo masakit sila sa heart ah. But still, I will save it. Thanks for the share. Matagal tagal na din last basa ko ng BL stories. ಥ‿ಥ
Ohhh.. I've read that manhwa too!!! Yan yung may anak ang seme, then he calls the uke mama, right??
If you prefer lighthearted ones, try "Did it work?" if you haven't read it yet... It's also yakuza-related, but with a bit of fantasy (Kasi shaman si uke) and comedy... 😂🥰
I sometimes rest from psychological drama by reading fluffy ones... 🥰💙
Thanks @hivepakistan and @ruffatotmeee!
Thank you for sharing this post with the community and for preferring us, it is a pleasure for us to have you here.
We hope to see you soon. Best regards!
Thanks a bunch! See you around! <3
Awwwww, first of all, thank you very much for the tag 😍 It's been a long time since I read BL mangas, but I know that many of these works are developed at a much broader level in the mangas... I remember that the last one I read was "haru wo daiteita" and I didn't even finish it because I got too busy 😅 not to mention that many times the anime doesn't do justice to the character design in the manga... but anyway, going back to the story you bring us, I find it very interesting 👀 I confess that I'm not a fan of yakuza themes, but in BL I like it because they give seriousness to the stories (sometimes, when the story is very pink, it takes away the charm of BL in my opinion), seeing two serious men going through the process of falling in love, seems much more striking to me... it seems like a movie that I would enjoy 😳 I barely consume one chapter of anime a day haha but I hope to find a space in my life to watch BL again 😭 (I'm going through a lot of anime and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to read it) Focusing on animes I wanted to watch years ago) Great post! We're looking forward to the next recommendation 👀🤗💚
My pleasure... I'll make sure to tag you on the my next BL-related post, too... Haru wo Daiteita is one of the classic BL manga and anime there is!!! I'm actually going to use it as a reference for my next BL post... :)
Fluffy BL is good as it tickles your heart, but serious and psychological ones hits you straight in the head and breaks your heart. It's amazing that way! Hahaha
Thanks for the comment!!! 🥰😎✨
Nice to read you and even more if you add the classic BLs to your list! In fact, those are the ones I know haha I also like this genre for what you say, romance leaves you with a very nice feeling in your heart, whether they are happy or sad themes 😇💚
Since you're into the classic BLs... Are you also into Junjou Romantika and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi??? The former was the first BL anime I've ever watched.. hahaha
Hahahaha I like them! But in fact, at the time of watching Junjou and Sekaichi, I had already seen the BLs called "the holy scriptures" haha I started by watching Gratitation, but after that, I investigated and watched everything that was available at that time... That's why I didn't get used to the time when only such romantic BLs came out, because I was used to tragic dramas that made you cry 😅 (I don't know if I told you, but my favorite BL is Ai no kusabi). But when I came across Romantic Junjou, I loved the couple of Miyagi and Shinobu (Junjou Terrorist 😆), unfortunately in the anime they didn't show that much of them haha bad selection for a favorite ship 😝
Gravitation was amazing!!! I like that one, too!
I met a friend online who was so into Ai no Kusabi just like you. I watched it because of him. hahah Yes... manga is still the best... they mostly just select scenes to show in the anime. xD
Oh yes, when I saw Gravitation for the first time I was too euphoric haha when I hear the endings I go into nostalgia mode and I feel like crying haha I'm happy because I managed to get the first volume of the Gravitation manga and I must confess that I love the way Murakami carried the story (very different from the anime), that's why you are so right when you mention that it's better to read the mangas to be able to see the plots in depth 😌 I didn't get to read Junjou's manga, but I imagine that at least the "hot" scenes were more intense than the little we saw in the anime 😆
I only saw the anime version of Gravitation. I should check the manga soon!
And yep... you know how BL manga works... hahaha
Hahahahaha the manga version of Gravitation has a lot more absurd comedy and its drawings, at least in the first volume, are very cartoonish (but I liked that). I also found out that the author even released an +18 manga where she had greatly improved her drawing and showed a lot of content 🔥 I didn't get to read it, I only saw some loose sheets around, but I'll leave you with that information hahaha
That's fun to see once in a while. hahah
Some softcore fluffy shounen ai manga or webtoon has that cartoonish vibes! It adds to its cuteness...
Ohh... intriguing! XD
I'm going to check it for "educational purposes". HAHA
Yesssss.... "educational purposes" 😏
First of all, thankyou so much for the tag. And secondly, how an I seeing this now!? Oh my goodness! I'll just go ahead and add it to my watchlist and pray that it doesn't get buried under cause I've been constantly adding cause I've been so busy to watch anything, it's so sad!😭
You're welcome... :)
Hahaha... no worries... just take your time. :) I've known this movie since it was released but never really watched it until recently. ^^
