The Worst Witch (2017 series) -- Brought back childhood memories!

When I was in elementary, the first Harry Potter movie was released and everyone was just so crazy about it. I mean, who wouldn't? We all dreamt of living in a world og magic and do things "muggles" can't do.

Of course, I enjoyed watching the movie... but there was one TV series that I used to watch on Philippine TV back then which was of similar theme. It was THE WORST WITCH. Well, the one I used to watch on TV as a child was an older series released from 1998 - 2001.

This time though, I'm going to talk about a newer version released in 2017 until 2020.

The Worst Witch revolves around the life of Mildred Hubble. She was living an ordinary life with here mom Julie. She enjoys drawing as influenced by her mom.

One day, Maud Spellbody crashes into Mildred's balcony while she was on her broomstick. They were both taken aback; Mildred because of a random girl crashing on a broomstick and Maud for the fact that Mildred can actually see her.

Mildred ended up going with Maud to Cackle's Academy which is a school for young witches.

Her then ordinary and monotonous life did a 180-degree turn as she enrolled in the said academy. She started her life as a student under the kind and loving headmistress Miss Cackle and the stoic and scary Miss Hardbroom.

Every day was full of magic... and chaos as every time she performs a spell, nothing seems to go well. She's indeed "The Worst Witch", but the question is... "Will she continue to be one?"

Even though I watched the newer version of the series, it still felt really nostalgic for me. The actors may have changed, but the story was as fun to watch as before. I remember some of the scenes from years ago and I just found myself enjoying every episode.

This series has four seasons and every season is full of magic, friendship and chaos. I really enjoyed this combination. I may be an adult now, but I believe magic is for everyone no matter your age.

I watched it alone, but I think this kind of series is great to watch with your family especially when you have kids. They have life lessons to tell in an interesting and fantasy-like way. This series is an exciting reminder that despite all the struggles and challenges in life, we can definitely face it with a positive and even a chaotic attitude.

If you're interested to dive into the world of magic in a hilarious way, then this series is for you! :)
