No todos los dias te encuentras en youtube navegando sin mucho por hacer solo para encontrarte un film, o mejor dicho un fanfilm de uno de los juegos que estas jugando.

Si aun no he compartido mis pensamientos sobre Papers Please es porque no sirvo para el trabajo de ser un supervisor de la frontera pero cuando vi que un ruso habia hecho una pelicula corta sobre el videojuego sabia que debia verla y compartir mis pensamientos al respecto.

Es claro que los buenos fanfilms no son demasiados, pero en este caso cuando veia la miniatura del video pensaba que este era un videojuego perfecto para hacerle una pelicula corta en un pequeño espacio y que no cueste demasiado y se base en los actores para brillar

Este film sigue mucha de la historia que vemos en el juego, un inspector que tiene el trabajo de dejar pasar a los que quieran entrar a la republica de Arkstroksa, un pais ficticio que podria parecerse mucho uno de los paises bajo la cortina de acero durante la guerra fria

Hay muchas personas pasando por dia mientras el pais y sus dirigentes lidian con tensiones y constantes nuevas normas que tienen que cumplirse al pie de la letra por el inspector si quiere permanecer en su puesto.

el dia empieza con normalidad hasta que vemos un soldado que pide el pase de su amada a pesar de no tener los permisos necesarios, y ya desde aqui podemos ver similitudes con el videojuego

Tengo que comentar que el actor principal y la mayoria de los actores funcionan muy bien, especial mencion para el inspector de la garita que tiene que pasar a ser una maquina sin emociones una vez empieza la jornada

Hay muchas tomas que muestran cosas que vemos en el videojuego, la pistola, la foto de la familia del inspector asi como un numero de los solicitantes que quieren entrar al pais estan inspirados en algunos personajes del juego que hacen lo mismo

A medida que van pasando los solicitantes hay una escena rapida en donde vemos el dia del inspector muy normal, creo que usar la musica del juego en algunos puntos del film junto con alguna mas clasica como la que se uso le queda de maravillas

el dia parece estar normal hasta que aparece la persona por la que estabamos esperando y por la que uno de los soldados nos quiso advertir al principio de la jornada

por primera vez vemos ese pensamiento, esa duda del inspector de si darle un pase y hacer como si no hubiese pasado nada, pero en ese momento llegan nuevas instrucciones, siempre estan llegando

Es una tension real la que se vive en lo poco que dura el film, en ese caso hicieron bien en replicar muchas de las cosas que hace bien el juego, las historias que nos muestran, los personajes y hasta algunas situaciones que se dan

Mientras mas lo pienso mas me queda claro que el actor principal es el que hace que te creas toda la pelicula, su actuacion es la de alguien que parece una maquina sin sentimientos de ningun tipo

Solo en momento puntuales le vemos dudar, pero siento que en cuanto a movimientos, a como dice los dialogos y como se desenvuelve hace un estupendo trabajo, es un actor reconocido en rusia asi que ya me imagino que tiene experiencia interpretando a estos personajes duros por fuera

Despues de ver todo solo me quedaba decir que queria mas, queria una pelicula entera del inspector sentado escuchando a los solicitantes y emitiendo un juicio que decida sus vidas de cierta forma, en el juego se siente de esa manera y aqui traducen esa sensacion muy bien

El film esta completamente gratis en youtube, me encargare de dejarles un enlace abajo pero tambien les recomiendo que se jueguen el juego porque hay muchas referencias que se disfrutan mas con el contexto del videojuego

It's not every day you find yourself on youtube surfing without much to do only to find a film, or rather a fanfilm of one of the games you are playing.

If I haven't shared my thoughts on Papers Please yet it's because I'm not cut out for the job of being a border supervisor but when I saw that a Russian guy had made a short film about the game I knew I had to watch it and share my thoughts on it.

It is clear that good fanfilms are not too many, but in this case when I saw the video thumbnail I thought that this was a perfect video game to make a short movie in a small space that doesn't cost too much and relies on the actors to shine.

This film follows much of the story we see in the game, an inspector who has the job of letting in those who want to enter the republic of Arkstroksa, a fictional country that might look a lot like one of the countries under the steel curtain during the cold war.

There are many people going through the day as the country and its leaders deal with tensions and constant new rules that have to be followed to the letter by the inspector if he wants to stay in his job.

The day starts normally until we see a soldier who asks for the pass of his beloved despite not having the necessary permissions, and from here we can see similarities with the video game.

I have to comment that the main actor and most of the actors work very well, special mention for the checkpoint inspector who has to become an emotionless machine once the journey begins.

There are many shots that show things that we see in the video game, the gun, the inspector's family photo as well as a number of applicants who want to enter the country are inspired by some characters in the game that do the same.

As the applicants go by there is a quick scene where we see the inspector's day very normal, I think that using the music of the game in some points of the film along with some more classic music like the one that was used fits wonderfully.

the day seems to be normal until the person we were waiting for appears and the one that one of the soldiers wanted to warn us about at the beginning of the day.

for the first time we see that thought, that doubt of the inspector whether to give him a pass and pretend nothing had happened, but at that moment new instructions arrive, they are always arriving.

It is a real tension that is experienced in the short duration of the film, in this case they did well to replicate many of the things that the game does well, the stories that they show us, the characters and even some situations that occur.

The more I think about it the more it becomes clear to me that the main actor is the one who makes you believe the whole movie, his performance is that of someone who looks like a machine without feelings of any kind.

Only in specific moments we see him hesitating, but I feel that in terms of movements, how he says the dialogues and how he develops himself he does a great job, he is a recognized actor in russia so I imagine he has experience playing these tough characters on the outside.

After watching everything I just had to say I wanted more, I wanted a whole movie of the inspector sitting down listening to the applicants and making a judgement that decides their lives in a certain way, in the game it feels that way and here they translate that feeling very well.

The film is completely free on youtube, I will take care to leave you a link below but I also recommend that you play the game because there are many references that are enjoyed more with the context of the video game.
