PROJECT SILENCE: The Struggle to Survive in the Midst of a Terrifying Disaster

Today I want to review a film from Korea. This film starring the late Lee Sun-Kyun is a thriller genre and very tense. I and some of my friends decided on this film because we saw a very tense trailer and attracted us to watch this film.

Before starting our meeting to watch this film, we took the time to stop by a market and buy coffee and chat first before entering the cinema studio. After the time came, we went to the studio and got ready to watch.

The film "Project Silence" is a South Korean action thriller released in 2024. Directed by Kim Tae-gon, this film features famous actors and actresses such as Lee Sun-kyun, Ju Ji-hoon, and Kim Su-an. The story of this film combines elements of survival, horror, and action, and offers captivating visuals. Here is the full review:

SYNOPSIS

"Project Silence" is set on a bridge covered in thick fog after a series of chain accidents. The story centers on Cha Jung-won (Lee Sun-kyun), a father who tries to protect his daughter from the approaching danger. When the situation is chaotic, a creature from a secret biological experiment appears and begins to attack people at the scene. In the midst of the chaos, the character Jo Park (Ju Ji-hoon), a tow truck driver, becomes part of the group fighting to survive.

FULL OF TENSION WITH A SERIES OF DISASTERS

This film by Kim Tae Gon has a very interesting plot. Throughout the film, the audience will be made short of breath by the many terrible disasters that seem to never end.
It all started with an accident on a bridge involving hundreds of vehicles due to fog along the road. The series of accidents paralyzed the bridge and several military vehicles were also victims of the accident which caused all this tragedy to become even more chaotic. military vehicles carrying a pack of dogs from a "project" carried out in "silence". The result of the project was a group of dogs that were smart and could attack brutally. In addition, the situation became even more chaotic with a gas leak, a helicopter crash and a bridge collapse.

CUTE DOGS TURN BRUTAL

This Project Silence is the name for a project carried out by the military in forming a military dog, initially these dogs would be used as soldiers by being trained to be protectors for humans. But unfortunately this project was misused by some people by making these dogs into "hunting machines" that could be controlled by the system. When the accident occurred, these dogs were released from their cages and began to hunt everything they saw because the system on the equipment in the dogs' bodies was in error.

SPECTACULAR VISUALS AND QUALITY CGI

When we watched it, it didn't occur to us that there were so many visual effects and CGI used, because it really amazed us. The brutal dogs were made of CGI and looked like real dogs. Plus the acting of the actors made it look real.

VERY SOLID ACTOR CHEMISTRY

In addition to the visual effects and acting of the actors. This film also looks very natural with the solid chemistry of all the actors who play. It looks very compact and brings the audience into the tense atmosphere of the film. Lee Sun-kyun gives a strong emotional performance as a father. This character feels relatable, showing a human side full of struggle and affection for his family. Ju Ji-hoon steals the show with his charisma and sense of humor, becoming a character who balances tension with light comedy. Kim Su-an, who plays Cha Jung-won's daughter, gives a stunning performance, especially in emotional moments.

BALANCED THOUGHT AND COMEDY

In addition to the tension, this film is also interspersed with emotion that makes the audience cry, some scenes require them to sacrifice their friends and even themselves. In addition to emotion, this film is also presented with several comedy scenes that make the audience laugh and entertained, when the tension in this film makes the audience hold their breath, there is Ju Ji Hoon who makes the audience laugh. The comedy that is not excessive and just right makes the cinema atmosphere melt.

LEE SUN KYUN'S FANS' AWAITS MOVIES AFTER HIS DEATH

As we know, Lee Sun Kyun passed away in December 2023. His sudden death left fans grieving. Many did not expect that the actor who was known to be very friendly and kind would die by committing suicide. This is also what makes the film "Project Silence" a film to relieve longing for his fans. Likewise, I cried when I found out that Lee Sun Kyun had passed away.

MESSAGE AND VALUES OF THE FILM

The film highlights the theme of protecting family and human resilience in the midst of a crisis. The relationship between Cha Jung-won and his daughter is the emotional core that drives the story. "Project Silence" is an entertaining Korean thriller with a fresh mix of action, horror, and comedy elements. The film offers a tense experience adorned with quality acting and captivating visuals. Suitable for fans of the survival-thriller genre.
