Reacher season 1 review
If you're a fan of action movies, filled with investigation, suspense and crazy twists, this series is for you. This is one of the series I can comfortably say is captivating from the beginning until the very end.
Season 1 of Reacher (released in 2022) revolves around a man called Jack Reacher. In my opinion, Reacher is a phenom. He is portrayed as being efficient in different respects. First, he's an ex-military man. One of the best. The series also portrayed him as a one-man army.
The series tells the story of how Reacher and his friends uncover a huge money counterfeiting operation being sponsored by people in very high places of power. Reacher is a just man. He always stands for what is right, no matter what it will cost him. In addition to that, he is super smart. He could analyse and profile anyone on meeting them for the first time and be right about that person. He could also walk into any crime scene and discover things that others can't discover.
Reacher is also very skilled in combat. We could see this as he effortlessly beat up people who came after him. The way he utilized brute force and skill to break people's bones and joints was enough to instill fear in people. As if that is not enough, he is tall and huge. That's enough to intimidate anyone.
Reacher's brother, Joe, was killed while investigating a counterfeiting case in a town called Margrave. I observed that when Reacher learned of his brother's death and even saw his corpse, Reacher didn't shed a tear. He tried his best to hide his emotions. It goes to show how tough Reacher was or tried to look.
The makers of this movie did a great job with the plot twist. Firstly, Kliner, the man who was most loved in the town, the man who donated a lot to the town, was the one running the counterfeiting operation. Reacher and his police friends, Finlay and Roscoe, discovered this and deduced that he had a hand in the death of several people in the town who were considered loose ends.
That's not all. We can see more plot twists as Kliner is killed by his son, who was more involved in the money counterfeiting operation. I must say, I never saw that coming.
Another plot twist was when Picard, a very trusted FBI friend of detective Finlay, who was helping Reacher and Finlay in the case by hiding a family that was being hunted because of the whole mess, was in fact working with the operators of the counterfeiting business all the while. Picard pretended to be on the good side all along just to hold Finlay and Reacher at gun point as they came close to exposing the truth. This plot twist had my jaws down as I would have never ever suspected Picard because of how well he played his role.
I can't seem to hide how much I'm in awe of Reacher's personality. He always paid attention to the littlest of details. He was very observant of his environment and if there was any slight change, he would notice. Furthermore, he knew how to get out of any difficult situation. We can see this as he talked Finlay through on escaping a group of assassins who came after him.
Reacher never liked oppression, and he always did his best to take care of the people he cared about. One funny thing about Reacher is that he never had any property. He was more of a wanderer, an adventurer moving from place to place.
The way the makers of the movie portrayed Reacher is one of the best I've seen in a while. In addition, the storytelling was superb. There was never a moment that wasn't interesting and mind boggling. This is a series I will always recommend for anyone to try out.

This show is actually on my watchlist. I don't usually watch American TvShow, but I've been feeling like watching those recently. I held back from Watching Jack Reacher because I saw the main character as someone that's very muscular and I imagined that would make him slow in combat scenes. Haha.
Well, I finally decided to watch it after seeing really good reviews about the show. I will be starting the first season next week.
