Have you ever felt hit hard by loneliness, making you ponder about things you long for in your life? Have you felt that emptiness that you are wasting your life doing a job, living in a city, or relating to certain people? Do you think that life is slipping through your fingers and that you haven't done anything important? Questions like these ended up emanating from within me after watching this film; which subtly delves into the caves of the innermost fears of the human being.
I've been wanting to see this Irish film for a long time, it's been a long time coming, but I finally got around to it. I knew I would stumble upon great things, maybe an absurd comedy or some dramatic entertainment, but what I got later was more than that; a deep philosophy that the writer wanted us to see and that remains inherent in each of us.

¿Alguna vez te has sentido golpeado fuertemente por la soledad, haciéndote reflexionar por cosas que anhelas en tu vida? ¿Has sentido ese vacío de que estás desperdiciado tu vida realizando un trabajo, viviendo en una ciudad o relacionándote con ciertas personas? ¿Piensas que la vida se te está escapando de las manos y que no has hecho nada importante? Preguntas como esta terminaron emanando de mi interior después de ver esta película; la cual profundiza sutilmente en las cuevas de los miedos más recónditos del ser humano.
Hace tiempo que quería ver este film irlandés, ha pasado mucho tiempo, pero por fin lo he conseguido. Sabía que me toparía con grandes cosas, quizás una comedia absurda o algo de entretenimiento dramático, pero lo que conseguí más adelante fue más que eso; una filosofía profunda que el escritor quería que viéramos y que permanece inherente en cada uno de nosotros.

Plot
We will encounter a beautiful setting, found on a remote island off the coast of Ireland, where the population is sparse and the locals know each other. In this place lie two men: Pádraic and Colm, who were lifelong friends until Colm decides, without any explanation or pretext, to end his friendship with Pádraic, which leaves Pádraic disturbed and confused.
Pádraic, a noble and gentle man, knows nothing but life inside Inisherin. His mind is focused only on his animals, his home, and his work. Colm, on the other hand, is a more intellectual man, with a passion for music and the search for a horizon that will bring him peace of mind.
Poor Pádraic, distressed by Colm, tries to understand why he suddenly no longer wants to be his friend and, in the attempt, tries to win him back. His sister, Keoghan; an intellectual, stern, yet gentle woman, tries to help her brother understand Colm's sudden attitude.
While the characters try to decipher this dispute, we will enter an atmosphere where the deepest feelings of human beings play, while the howls of the Civil War make noise in front of the island. We will find disagreements, reflective dialogues about existence softened with a bit of Irish humor, the noise of a friendship that is gradually disappearing, and an impertinent but disturbed boy, accompanying the characters. Will this friendship of so many years come to an end?
La trama
Nos encontraremos con un escenario hermoso, hallado en una isla remota frente a las costas de Irlanda, donde la población es poca y los lugareños se conocen entre ellos. En este lugar yacen dos hombres: Pádraic y Colm, quienes eran amigos de toda la vida hasta que Colm decide sin ninguna explicación o pretexto, terminar su amistad con Pádraic; lo cual deja a este perturbado y confundido.
Pádraic, es un hombre noble y gentil, que no conoce nada más que la vida dentro Inisherin. Su mente se centra únicamente en sus animales, su casa y su trabajo. Colm, en cambio, es un hombre más intelectual, con una pasión por la música y la búsqueda de un horizonte que le brinde tranquilidad.
El pobre Pádraic, angustiado por Colm, intenta comprender por qué él de repente ya no quiere ser su amigo y, en el intento, trata de recuperarlo. Su hermana, Keoghan; una mujer intelectual, severa, pero a la vez gentil, trata de ayudar a su hermano a entender la actitud repentina de Colm.
Mientras los personajes intentan descifrar esta disputa, nos adentraremos en una atmósfera donde juegan los sentimientos más profundos del ser humano, mientras los aullidos de la Guerra Civil hacen ruido frente a la isla. Hallaremos desavenencias, diálogos reflexivos sobre la existencia suavizados con un poco de humor irlandés, el ruido de una amistad que poco a poco va desapareciendo y un muchacho impertinente pero perturbado, acompañando a los personajes. ¿De verdad llegará a su fin esta amistad de tantos años?
My opinion
In the first instance, the film seems to me to be a work of art; with those photographic images of landscapes that represent a true Irish paradise. The costumes and scenery are very well elaborated and leave you completely immersed in rural island life.
The cast was fabulous. Colin Farrel with his performance as Pádraic was more than convincing for me, as even though I had nothing in common with the character, I managed to connect with him and was guided by his confusion looking for an answer to his problem.
Barry Keoghan as the young Dominic, also did very well, although I did not connect with this character, his interpretation of a young man disturbed by the situation he was living in his house was very well exposed. I had seen this actor work alongside his partner, Colin previously in a psychological thriller called The Killing of a Sacred Deer by director Yorgos Lanthimos; a highly recommended film to watch.
Another character that moved me was Siobhán; Pádraic's sister, played by the excellent actress Kerry Condon, I think I had a stronger bond with this character for being a strong person, but only on the outside, because as we watch each scene, we notice a fragility in her; an emptiness, an emptiness, an affliction that she wants to repair, but she is in an internal struggle with herself because of the strong fraternal feelings she has with her brother and her situation with her former friend Colm.
The film is a tragicomedy full of mixed feelings, it makes us go into those fears and thoughts that we sometimes have about life, using humor as an engine to continue on this path and thus not feel so dejected. We put ourselves in the shoes of Pádraic, who, with innocence, tries to understand the decisions and feelings of others. And even if we make some mistakes along the way, and some people distance themselves from us, we will always find in the end the conformity that at some point wanted to escape from our hands.
I found this film to be a cinematic work of art, no wonder it has won several awards, however, I noticed some things that I did not like. I thought the dialogues were excellent, but some of them get lost in the narrative. There are scenes that I didn't understand and they became unnecessarily long; in fact, I think they should have been eliminated. I felt that the film was too long for a story that could have been told in less time, with some additions that have no relevance and just got in the way of the genius of the work. Despite all that, I enjoyed it very much until its sad ending; seasoned with a bit of humor.

En primera instancia, la película me parece una obra de arte; con esas imágenes fotográficas de paisajes que representan a un verdadero paraíso irlandés. Los vestuarios y las escenografías están muy bien elaborados y te dejan sumergido por completo en una vida rural isleña.
El elenco actoral estuvo fabuloso. Colin Farrel con su interpretación como Pádraic fue más que convincente para mí, ya que a pesar de que no tenía nada en común con el personaje, logré conectarme con él y era guiado por su confusión buscando respuesta a su problema.
Barry Keoghan como el joven Dominic, también lo hizo muy bien, aunque no conecté con este personaje, su interpretación de un joven perturbado por la situación que vivía en su casa estuvo muy bien expuesta. Ya había visto a este actor trabajar junto a su compañero, Colin anteriormente en un thriller psicológico llamado The Killing of a Sacred Deer del director Yorgos Lanthimos; una película muy recomendable de ver.
Otro personaje que me conmovió mucho fue Siobhán; la hermana de Pádraic, interpretada por la excelente actriz Kerry Condon, creo que tuve un enlace más fuerte con este personaje por ser una persona fuerte, pero solo en el exterior, ya que a medida que vamos viendo cada escena, notamos una fragilidad en ella; un vacío, una aflicción que quiere reparar, pero se encuentra en una lucha interna consigo misma por los fuertes sentimientos fraternos que tiene con su hermano y su situación con su ex amigo Colm.
La película es una tragicomedia plagada de sentimientos encontrados, nos hace adentrarnos en esos miedos y pensamientos que tenemos a veces sobre la vida, usando el humor como motor para continuar con este camino y así no sentirnos tan abatidos. Nos ponemos en los zapatos de Pádraic, que, con inocencia, intentamos comprender las decisiones y sentimientos de los demás. Y aunque cometamos algunas torpezas en el trayecto, y algunas personas se alejen de nosotros, siempre hallaremos al final la conformidad que en algún momento quiso escaparse de nuestras manos.
Esta película me pareció una obra de arte cinematográfica, no me extraña que haya ganado varios premios, sin embargo, noté algunas cosas que no me gustaron. Los diálogos me parecieron excelentes, pero algunos se pierden dentro de la narrativa. Hay escenas que no comprendí y que se hicieron innecesariamente largas; de hecho, pienso que debieron eliminarse. Sentí que la película era demasiado extensa para una historia que se pudo contar en menos tiempo, con unas añadiduras que no tienen relevancia y que solo estorbaban dentro de la genialidad de la obra. A pesar de todo eso, la disfruté mucho hasta su triste final; aderezado con un poco de humor.
Conclusions
The Banshees of Inisherin, is an entertaining film with intense elements. A drama with comedy and a philosophy of life that will make you get into the most abysmal feelings of the characters, accompanied by beautiful photography of Irish rural environment; with excellent shots of the scenery that make you want to be there. The acting performances are wonderful and make you connect with the story, the feelings emanating there, and the generalized life that thrives there. It may become tedious at some point, because of the negative points I have mentioned, but this can be repaired with sublime dialogues full of drama and grace.

The Banshees of Inisherin, es una película entretenida con elementos intensos. Un drama con comedia y una filosofía de la vida que te hará adentrarte a los sentimientos más abismales de los personajes, acompañados por una hermosa fotografía de ambiente rural irlandés; con excelentes tomas de la escenografía que te hacen querer estar allí. Las interpretaciones actorales son maravillosas y te hacen conectarte con la historia, los sentimientos allí emanados y la vida generalizada que prospera allí. Puede ser que en algún momento se vuelva tediosa, por lo puntos negativos que he mencionado, pero esto puede repararse con los sublimes diálogos repletos de drama y gracia.

Interesante esta producción, los temas sobre la vida y los diálogos que mencionas se ven muy buenos. Películas que envían un mensaje así profundo, son muy llamativas.

Realmente, el escenario irlandés, combinado con la narrativa detallada, lo convirtió en un deleite visual y emocional. Aunque algunas escenas me parecieron un poco prolongadas, la narrativa general, combinada con actuaciones estelares, especialmente de Colin Farrell, lo hizo una experiencia memorable.

It looks very nice this movie with a striking story, I have come across it and it has caught my attention several times, but so far I have not been able to see it, now that you share it I will write it down to dedicate myself to see it and enjoy those beautiful landscapes.

De las mejores películas del año pasado, sin duda. La mezcla de comedia, drama y filosofía que mencionas, las increíbles actuaciones, la fotografía, en verdad es una excelente producción cinematográfica y siento que en esta parte del continente no fue lo suficientemente valorada, quizás por incomprensión.
