As a movie fan, it is always hard to pick one particular movie as the favourite one but most times it depend on the kind of genre you always love to watch, on my end I love action movies and not just any action movie that require guns, I prefer sword based movies where blood is split, I do shuffle from korean village movie at times just to pick the one I really like to watch. Recently, I came had to watch this particular series and I will say it really top the list, titled "The Last Kingdom", it is a religious based movie, a fight between the saxons (the then Christians) and the Danes (traditionalist) Old religion, if you ever watch the Vikings, you will have a glimpse of what this movie is all about. The story really based on a particular warrior who was born as a Saxon and also baptized but raised by the Danes, when he was young, the Danes attacked his father kingdom Bebbanburg, killed everyone and took him as hostage then got adopted and named Uhtred, even though he was baptized twice before then, he lost faith in the Christain Gods but really didn't believe in the danish gods, so he was somehow in between. As faith will have it, his danish adopted family were betrayed and killed and he was tagged the culprit, so he had to fled to the saxon land to meet Father Beocca who introduce him to the then king Alfred.

The king had a vision to unite the whole 7 kingdom to form England and he needed a good warrior with him, Uthred was wise in both war and strategy, so he was really a man of value in both side, he was like an hybrid, a trusted man and even though he want nothing to do with both side war and just focus on his dream of regaining his father kingdom (bebbanburg) but King Alfred with his dream found of away to hook him down by making him to swear an oath to him, he was really stuck and had to just pick a side but nevertheless, they still doubted him about having hidden plans all because he refused to be baptize again and believe in the Saxon God. At some point, I kind of saw him as a stupid guy who allow people to play on his intelligence, always putting him in a tight corner just because he is faithful and trustworthy, he had to sacrifice a lot of things, his dane brother, his dane friend/gf Brida who was a brave warrior like him, all that make them enemy even though they were bounded in soul.

I really don't like how he was treated, he became a Lord without no money, no land and no place to call a home, even though he had no army, he has a reputation among both Saxons and Danes and that make people tremble anytime they hear his name, he also have few people who where ready to follow him and die for him, his words speak volumes and that made the Saxon king to hate him the more. One thing about the 3 kings that Uthred made an oath with, they get deceived easily by hidden tyrant who don't have their interest at heart, any small victory in war or sight of Uthred, they will start poison the kings against him, Oh he has an hidden army, oh he will take the throne, oh he want to be king that is why he never accept God and be baptized, I will be like, just let him do his thing at least he never betray you people once even when he had the chance to.

Some painful scene was when he lost his wives especially Gisela, he was broken for a long time, the part where he was betrayed and sold to slavery also made me emotional especially when he lost Halid but gain Finan who was with him till his last breath, another scene was when Brida became his sworn enemy, that woman was a pain in his ass but both find it hard to kill each other when they had face to face battle because they are soul bounded from the very beginning, brida was a tough woman until Uthred daughter Stiorra killed her just to give her father the final peace. The drama series is really a great one to watch if you love religious based movie (with sword fight).

It was a good watch honestly... I watched every bit of this movie with so much focus

It gave me the vibes I got from watching Vikings too, hehehe

It was really a great watch and the Saxons, lol
I don't even know which people I could trust the more

I just view them as confused being especially the kings, there are ways to make peace without war but they want to take everything by force and force God onto the danes without considering their believes yet they couldn't figure out the enemy among the saxon with hidden agenda
