El doctor Armando Toscano es convocado por dos mujeres, quienes le informan que dentro de la habitación hay una joven en medio de grandes dolores. Al anunciar a las mujeres que ella requiere una operación urgente, las mujeres le dicen que el amante de la joven la había abandonado; para el médico, eso carece de importancia, pues la vida de la joven corría peligro.
Luego de la operación, la interacción entre el médico y la joven, de nombre Irene, se vuelve más frecuente, primero desde el ámbito profesional y, pasado el tiempo, un poco más personal. Al final, ambos se casan... Ignorando que su unión solo sería el inicio de una lucha entre el amor sincero de una joven enamorada de su salvador y los celos de un hombre que poco a poco lo van hundiendo en los abismos de la locura.
Celos es un film de 1935 dirigida por Arcady Boytler y protagonizado por los hermanos Fernando y Andrés Soler, Arturo de Córdova, Vilma Vidal y Emilio "Indio" Fernández, todos ellos grandes figuras de la Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano.
La habilidad histriónica de Fernando Soler al interpretar a un personaje cuyo interior está plagado de dudas, miedos e inseguridades respecto a la lealtad de su pareja fue tan magistral que uno termina reflexionando sobre la fragilidad de la mente humana. Arturo de Córdova, Vilma Vidal, Emilio Fernández y Andrés Soler no se quedaron atrás; de forma puntual reflejaron cada quien los efectos que la celopatía puede llegar a tener sobre las personas cercanas al enfermo.
Aunque su narrativa por momentos parece lenta, la película logra capturar el interés del espectador desde el principio, adentrándole en ese espiral tortuoso que lentamente desciende hasta la pérdida de la razón.

Doctor Armando Toscano is called by two women, who inform him that there was a young lady inside the room, who is in the middle of great pains. By telling the women that she needs an urgent surgery, they tell him that the young lady's lover abandoned her; that isn't important for the doctor, because the life of the young women is in danger.
After the surgery, the interaction between the doctor and the young woman, named Irene, is more frequent, first in the professional field and, over time, a little more personal. In the end, they both get married... Ignoring that their union would only be the beginning of a fight between the sincere love of a young woman in love with her savior and the jealousy of a man who, little by little, is sinking him into the depths of madness.
Celos (Jelousy) is a 1935 film directed by Arcady Boytler and starred by the brothers Fernando and Andrés Soler, Arturo de Córdova, Vilma Vidal and Emilio "Indio" Fernández, all them great icons of the Golden Era of the Mexican Cinema.
Fernando Soler's histrionic skill in playing a character whose interior is plagued by doubts, fears and insecurities regarding his partner's loyalty was so masterful that one ends up reflecting on the fragility of the human mind. Arturo de Córdova, Vilma Vidal, Emilio Fernández and Andrés Soler were not far behind; each one specifically reflected on the effects that cellopathy can have on people close to the patient.
Although its narrative seems slow by moments, the movie manages to capture the viewer's interest from the beginning, taking them into that tortuous spiral that slowly descends to the loss of reason.
