The Origin: Madame Koi koi
In Nigerian stories, there's this spooky character named Madame Koikoi. She's like a ghost who wanders around at night. People say she dances and sings in a way that makes others fall under her spell. They believe she tricks people into following her, and then something bad happens to them. But there's not much proof that Madame Koikoi is real. Her story is probably just made up, like a scary story people tell each other.
One big part of the Madame Koikoi story is how she can make people do things with her dance and song. They say if you meet her, you can't help but do whatever she wants. But there isn't really any good evidence to show that Madame Koikoi exists. Stories about creatures like her are common in many places, not just in Nigeria. Sometimes people make up stories to make things seem more exciting or mysterious.
Another thing about Madame Koikoi is that she only comes out at night. People say she hides in the dark and waits for people to be alone before she tries to lure them away. This part of the story might be a way to warn people about the dangers of being out alone at night. It's like a reminder to stick together and be careful, especially when it's dark outside.
Also, the name "Koikoi" doesn't really mean anything special in Nigerian culture. It's probably just a name that sounds mysterious and interesting. People often give made-up characters names that sound cool or different to make them more exciting.
Madame Koikoi's story might have started a long time ago as a way to explain things that happened in the community. Sometimes when something strange or scary happens, people make up stories to try to make sense of it. Madame Koikoi could be one of those stories, meant to teach people lessons about being cautious and sticking together.
In the end, Madame Koikoi is a fascinating character, but there's not much proof that she's real. Her story is probably just a myth, like many other stories passed down through generations. Even though her tale might not be true, it's still a reminder of how powerful storytelling can be and how it can capture our imagination.

I saw this film on Netflix but never got to watch because I wasn't buying the hype around it at all. Maybe someday, I'll just watch it to get rid of boredom.
Btw, learn to edit your screenshots properly before posting it so that your post looks neat and more compelling.
Okay. Thanks for the tip
Far from the capture you used, I thought you were in the wrong community as you talk about the legend but not about the series or the film itself. How is the film, are the performances good, what about the photography, any scenes that you particularly liked? You haven't told us about the film at all, just about the legend around it, and if it wasn't for the other hiver who told you I wouldn't know that this legend actually has a film. This is a community of series and movies so the aspects I mentioned before are fundamental when sharing a post here, I hope the information is useful for your next post in the community and you get a cure :3
