That one movie

Movies are one of the great mediums of entertainment that can well serve as a source of inspiration and lessons about life and things that revolve around our daily lives. Although I was once a movie addict and enjoyed indulging in them for hours, that changes over time, so when we talk about movies that really touch me to the core while watching them, it's definitely going to go way back, and in this post, I'll tell you all about the movie.

Probably due to my not-too-palatable experiences in my short time here on Act, I've grown to not be too moved by various acts or happenings in movies, and then to just see a mere act that doesn't warrant my tears or expression because regardless of how I react towards such, it has already been acted, and no matter how I react, such won't change the script or how the movie has been programmed to go.

So talking about a movie that hit me so badly and got me engrossed or scared, then I'll definitely go way back to several years while I was still young. Although I could have chosen a popular TV series, Breaking Bad, which I enjoyed a lot, for some reasons I felt skeptical about it, despite the fact that I think it's authentic and a pure analysis of how an individual can literally go ignorantly from an innocent person to a very bad person on a steady and gradual pace until they lose their reasonable thinking and conscience. The main character and story line of the movie literally portray this.

But by then, like I said, he won't be talking about breaking bad; instead, I'll be taking about a popular Nollywood movie aired in the late 90s, popularly known as Eran iya osogbo. This is a scary movie that touches lives and portraits the ongoing events in present-day Nigeria back then, most especially in the western part of the country. This movie doesn't just teach us a lesson; it's also scary, and it opens our eyes to the reality that shape shifters do exist among us.

Although if I were to watch it in the present, I would have some conservation and questions about some of the things they try to analyze. Being just a young boy then, I'll use my experience back then as a judge of the whole situation. This movie talks about the reality of supernatural powers, witches, and their ability to shapeshift from humans to animals just so they can perpetrate their evil acts.

I find this scary, one because of the storyline, those cast affected by the storyline in the movie, and the fear of how I've also picked something on the floor and how it makes me afraid that I might have joined witches without me knowing. Two things are most scary about this movie, and one is that aside from the act in the movies, I had to watch at a neighbor's place who stays in the boys quarters in the middle of the night. Leaving my neighbor's house to our house after the movie is always a scary moment for me because I'm usually afraid that what if those witches appear and grab me before I get to our house?

The second and most notable thing that makes this movie scariest is that almost all the cast who acted in the movie died
few months after playing a part in the movie, and many speculate that the witches are the ones who are being their death for exposing their secrets to the general public.

That's about all, in my opinion, of the perfect movie that got a hold of me and literally made me scared and emotional. I hope you enjoyed the read. Thanks so much for your time. Have a wonderful week ahead.

I can relate to this! Seems this movie is pure tragedy because how would almost all the actors die?

It's so devastating and I can imagine the amount of pain and tears that would be rolling from your eyes.

I am adding this to my list of recommendations...

It indeed a tragedy, I doubt you'll be able to locate it because it's very old, but then you can search for it to read the story behind it.

Oh it's possible it'll be available on YouTube.

Eran iya oshogbo, the most popular in the land that time. So scary!
