“Have you heard of ‘cock & bull story’ before? Ok, this one now is a ‘hen & ram story’!” ~ Idongesit

What in the rib cracking world of comedy is this!?
Bishop Umeh is such a funny character. I’ve not laughed this hard in a long while whilst watching a movie! Oh my!

Gosh! This movie, though tragic, is hilarious that you forget the tragedy part. You’ll feel somewhat guilty laughing, but the truth is you can’t help it because it’s mostly comedy.

...Trigger Warning!!!

This movie contains themes of suicidal ideations. Please, if you or anyone close to you is having troubled thoughts of harming themselves, please speak up to the right persons and agencies.

ABOUT THE MOVIE

Paul (Stephen Odimgbe) is a chronic womaniser. Oluwatemilorun ‘Temi’ (Sophia Alakija), on the other hand, is under pressure from her mother (played by Lilian Bach) to get a husband. She isn’t lucky finding love as all her arranged dates end up in a disaster.

Feeling overly frustrated and entertaining the imposter syndrome (not feeling good enough) after another heartbreak, Temi decides to take a drastic action where her world then collides with Paul’s.

What happens next is a matter of sequences that will leave you in shock for the first few seconds, and then next will be explosive episodes and a whole doze of laughter-mania.

MY THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS

You want to not be eating or drinking while you watch this lest you choke on it. I'm not kidding. Lol.

“Man & Ghost” is a dramedy produced and directed by veteran Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot and showing on his YouTube channel.

I want to say I thoroughly enjoyed this. From the first scene, I was hooked. With plenty of lessons to learn, this is entertaining, stress-relieving, engaging, and full of humor.

This could actually make for a Prime Video movie, to be honest. Kudos to all who made this worthwhile. Bishop Umeh, gosh! Guy was something else with his signature eye roll and comedic lines that will send you rolling on the floor. He reminded us why we love our Nollywood of yesteryears.

Stephen Odimgbe…dude can do no wrong in my eyes. He’s just effortlessly funny with his role delivery. Sophia…my oh my! No one could have interpreted that role better. She did justice with her cute, adorable looks.

Lilian Baaaaaach! Do you age at all??? My goodness! It was so good to see her again here. Her voice sounds like Omoni Oboli’s. So soothing.

Who could have thought that Lilian Bach & Sophia Alakija were the perfect mum & daughter duo we needed to see. Wait! Are they related? They look so much alike.

I super duper loved this movie. It passed the comedy check and ticked most of the drama boxes with a very strong message for parents to go easy on their children especially the girl child about the urgent need to get married (most times borne out of selfish reasons) even when they’re not yet ready or finding it difficult to get a suitable suitor. It’s absolutely frustrating and can lead to tragic consequences, like in the case of this film.

The storyline was beautiful, though not entirely new, as we’ve seen in some movies with the same theme about ghosts, the plot and direction of this one however are pretty impressive.

While the soundtrack at the beginning was a little distracting (in a good way…I loved the rap), the audio was, however, unstable. Sometimes, it appears there’s a break in transmission.

Why did Idongesit (Bishop Umeh) vanish from the movie like that??? I wanted to see more of him. It wasn’t explained either.

Nevertheless, this was an absolutely amazing watch. Gather your friends and family and see this together. It’s not a film to be enjoyed alone

The duration also worked superbly well as anything longer would have consisted of excessive talks and dialogues, which would have ruined the film.

The timing here couldn’t have been more impeccable. Kudos to the cast and crew for making me laugh this hard. It’s been a while since I did.

I won't give any rating today. Just go watch and have a good laugh.
Until next time...BYE!
