How are you doing? Cinema has been a inherent part of Indian culture and traditional history. Cinema is considered as a mirror of society as it reflects back the ways of ourselves and our society. Indian Film Industry i.e Hindi Language Cinema popular known as 'Bollywood' is one of the biggest film industries in the world. Hindi Cinema is a part of life of every Indian and its popularity is spread widely across the world. In India Films and Film Stars have deep emotional connect with the masses and common people as well. The craze of films and cinema is just beyond normal here. Bollywood basically based and originated in Bombay in late 19th century. The Mumbai City now also known as Film City due to widespread popularity of Bollywood.
The Indian Film Industry goes back to the starting of 20th century. The first silent feature film or the first full length film made is India was Raja Harishchandra released in 1913 directed by Dadasaheb Phalke. The origin and growth of hindi Cinema is dedicated to the great Dadasaheb Phalke who is also known as Father of Indian Cinema.
The first talkie film of Indian Cinema was Alam Ara released in 1931. Since then the journey of Indian Cinema has been remarkable with great variety and experiments to shape the remarkable legacy of cinema. The Indian Cinema has sharply came into global premises after independence in 1947. Mother India released in 1957, an epic drama film starring Nargis Dutt and Sunil Dutt in lead roles and directed by Mehboob Khan is considered one of the greatest Indian films ever made. This film was a commercial and critical hit. This was also the first Indian movie to be nominated for Academy Award Best Picture in foreign language.pave way for indian cinema further. Classical cult movies such as Kaagaz Ke Phool released in 1959 directed by Guru Dutt.
The 1950s and 60s era was dominated by evergreen stars of Indian Cinema who forever changed the industry and influenced today's age actors. These were the greats such as Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Nargis Dutt, Wahida Rehman among the many greats. Those were days of depicting Indian cinema throughout the world and through the impressive stories. These were the era of movies depicting the themes of pre-colonial era, early history, Indian struggle, social background etc. The most renowned and classical movie during this decade was Mughal-e-Azam released in 1969 staring Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Madhubala in the lead roles. This epic period drama movie was based on Mughal era. Mughal-e-Azam is also one of the best and biggest bollywood movie. It also got worldwide fame as under:

Then came the 70s and 80s era dominated by stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Jitendra, Rekha, Hema Malini, Sharmila Tagore etc. These are the era new experiments into film making with new age stories, more musical melodies. The new Age Star Amitabh Bachchan bring onscreen the image of angry young man, brining more emotion, action and romance on the screen. This era witnessed the rise of Rajesh Khanna who was considered as the first 'Superstar' of Bollywood. The 1975 released all time blockbuster 'Sholay' starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan and Amjad Khan in lead roles, directed by Ramesh Sippy and written by Salim-Javed Duo is the major mass hit.

The 90s and 2000s is the new Hindi Cinema and the most refreshing in terms of variety, stories and different genres. This era is mostly dominated by three khans of Bollywood ie. Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. This era was a mix of art and commercial success with new age actors and directors such as Manoj Vajpayee, Ram Gopal Varma. This period also witnessed the rise of South Indian cinema with movies of regional language such as telgu, Tamil, malyalam, kannada etc were came into light and acknowledgement.
Indian Cinema has highly influenced the global audience with a fan following of both Indian movies as well as wide popularity of Indian movie stars arround the world. The bollywood industry has been rising continuously and progressively making its mark in the world itself. Now a days indian actors are taking up international projects as well many international stars are appearing in Indian movies as well. The Indian Cinema is very famous for its cultural touch, music and dance sequences. The music is the best part of Indian Cinema. With legendary singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar,Mohammed Rafi, the magic of Indian Cinema has touched every soul. The dialogues of famous Epic bollywood movies are still remembered and acted upon nowadays. The charismatic effect of Indian Cinema and the artists as well is beyond reason in India.
It's been more than a century now Indian Cinema came into action and there has been no stopping off of its magic around since then. It has delivered classical hits, nurtured great art and artists. Moreover Indian Cinema has changed the meaning of entertainment, romance and emotion for everyone and forever!
