Headshot - Merciless action and a real fighting experience
Headshot is one of those films that doesn't get its due, despite being a powerful action experience filled with tense moments that keep you on edge and the film tells the story of a man who loses his memory and begin to discover that he's not just an ordinary person but is involved in something much bigger than he ever imagined. The story isn't new but its execution is unique and exciting, and that's what makes the film enjoyable.
What attracted me most to Headshot were the fight scenes as There's no kidding, real, direct violence that makes you feel every punch. The filming itself was sharp and fast immersing you in the action as if you were the one fighting. The film relied on a fighting style similar to Asian martial arts films, which was an excellent addition that kept viewers excited from start to finish.
As for the acting, Iko Uwais did a great job, proving once again that he's one of the best action stars of the new generation. His character in the film was mysterious, and he had a human touch despite the violence surrounding him. The film features other characters that aren't particularly deep but each one plays a role in presenting the story without filler or boredom.
The music and cinematography also played an important role and there were moments in the film where the lighting served the sense of mystery and tension and the music heightened the sense of danger in crucial scenes. The ending? Spoiler alert: it fit the spirit of the film, not clichéd, and not traditionally predictable.
Headshot isn't just an action film as it's a true experience for anyone who loves films filled with intense battles and a suspenseful plot and If you haven't seen it yet so I recommend giving it a chance as you probably won't regret it.
