Cine TV Contest #66 Favorite Brad Pitt movie: Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Eng/Esp)

Greetings to all the cinephile hivers of the hive, as usual every week we have a new contest that gives us the opportunity to talk about our favorite movies. This time the invitation is to talk about a Brad Pitt movie, who has been for a long time one of my favorite actors. For this selection I had many options in mind such as Troy, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

It was not an easy decision, as I love all of them, but in the end I decided for the last one, as it brings back very good memories and is the perfect mix of comedy and action.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a movie of 2005, at that time I was 10 years old and I remember I watched it for the first time in the program "Noche de Cine", which was shown on Sunday nights on Cuban television. The next day at school all my classmates were talking about the movie and how much we liked it.

After that I watched it again many times, because as I said, apart from the good action it has, it is very entertaining and has very funny moments, it also has a very attractive plot that attracts the viewer.

The movie stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who I consider them a very explosive duo on screen. In the movie they are both two professional assassins who are very good at what they do, but work for different agencies. They meet by chance and fall in love and later get married. After some time of marriage, the Smiths may seem like a very happy couple, but in reality their marriage has fallen into a rut and the two have yet to reveal their true profession.

On a mission, they realize that they are both targeting each other and everything becomes more interesting. At first they don't know what to do, but then they prioritize their work before their relationship and start a hunt to finish the mission, which is to kill the other. In this cat and mouse game they both find a thrill and somehow their relationship recovers the spark, as they get to know each other better than in all their years of marriage.

After many very funny and action-packed scenes, where we see them try to seriously hurt each other and where they almost destroy the whole house, love reemerges between them and they end up closer than ever, and this time to end their respective agencies, which find out about their union and decide to eliminate them.

Together they are more lethal and work very well as a team, so they have no problem to emerge victorious and finish them all off.

The reason why I really like this movie, apart from the action and the funny moments, is the idea it presents, a marriage that has fallen into a rut and thanks to the situation they are involved in of having to kill each other to accomplish their missions, they revive their love. It is very difficult for something like this to happen in real life, but it is great and very entertaining to see it on television.

My favorite moments are when they are in a restaurant and start dancing, but at the same time trying to kill each other in full view of everyone without anyone noticing, and when they are on the kitchen floor after realizing they can't kill each other because they love each other, and eat out of the fridge, that's a sweet moment between them.

Because of all this I think the movie was a worldwide success and for me it will always be in the top of my favorite movies, not only Brad Pitt's, but Angelina Jolie's as well.

About Brad, I think he is a very charismatic, talented and versatile actor, you can't pigeonhole him in one genre only because he can surprise you a lot. I am also a fan of his dramatic films, I loved the role he played in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and in "Legends of Passion", where we see another side of him.

Saludos para todos los hivers cinéfilos de la colmena, cómo es habitual cada semana tenemos un nuevo concurso que nos da la oportunidad de hablar sobre nuestras películas preferidas. En esta ocasión la invitación es a hablar sobre una película de Brad Pitt, que ha sido por mucho tiempo uno de mis actores preferidos. Para esta selección tuve muchas opciones en mente como Troya, El curioso caso de Benjamin Button y Señor y Señora Smith.

No fue una decisión fácil, ya que todas me encantan, pero al final me decidí por la última, pues me trae muy buenos recuerdos y es la mezcla perfecta de comedia y acción.

Señor y Señora Smith es una película del 2005, en ese entonces yo tenía 10 años y recuerdo que la ví por primera vez en el espacio "Noche de Cine", que ponían los domingos en la noche por la televisión cubana. Al día siguiente en la escuela todos mis compañeros hablaban de la película y lo mucho que nos gustó.

Después de eso la volví a ver muchas veces, es que como dije, aparte de la buena acción que tiene, es muy entretenida y tiene momentos muy graciosos, además tiene una trama muy atractiva que atrae al espectador.

La película está protagonizada por Brad Pitt y Angelina Jolie, que los considero un dúo muy explosivo en la pantalla. En la película ambos son dos asesinos profesionales que son muy buenos en lo que hacen, pero que trabajan para agencias diferentes. Estos se conocen por casualidad y se enamoran para luego casarse. Después de un tiempo de matrimonio, los Smith pueden parecer una pareja muy feliz, pero en realidad su matrimonio ha caído en una rutina y los dos aún no revelan su verdadero trabajo.

En una misión, se dan cuenta que ambos son el objetivo del otro y todo se vuelve más interesante. Al principio no saben que hacer, pero luego priorizan su trabajo antes de su relación y empiezan una cacería para terminar la misión, que es matar al otro. En este juego de gato y ratón ambos encuentran una emoción y de alguna manera su relación recupera la chispa, pues se llegan a conocer mejor que en todos sus años de matrimonio.

Después de muchas escenas muy divertidas y llenas de acción, dónde los vemos tratar de herirse en serio y dónde casi destruyen la casa entera, el amor vuelve a surgir entre ellos y terminan más unidos que nunca, y esta vez para acabar con sus respectivas agencias, las cuales se enteran de su unión y deciden eliminarlos.

Juntos son más letales y trabajan muy bien en equipo, por lo que no tienen problema de salir victoriosos y acabar con todos.

La razón por la que me gusta mucho esta película, aparte por la acción y los momentos cómicos, es la idea que presenta, un matrimonio que ha caído en rutina y que gracias a la situación en la que se ven envueltos de tener que matarse mutuamente para cumplir sus misiones, reviven su amor. Es muy difícil que algo así pase en la vida real, pero es genial y muy entretenido verlo en televisión.

Mis momentos favoritos son cuando están en un restaurante y empiezan a bailar, pero a la vez tratando de matarse a la vista de todo el mundo sin que nadie se de cuenta, y cuando están en el suelo de la cocina después de darse cuenta de que no pueden matarse porque se quieren, y comen de la nevera, es un momento dulce entre ellos.

Por todo esto que he mencionado creo que la película fue un éxito mundial y para mí siempre estará en el top de mis películas favoritas, no solo de Brad Pitt, sino también de Angelina Jolie.

De Brad creo que es un actor muy carismático, talentoso y también versátil, no lo puedes encasillar en un género solamente porque puede sorprenderte mucho. Soy fan también de sus películas dramáticas, me encantó el papel que hizo en "El curioso caso de Benjamin Button" y en "Leyendas de pasión", dónde vemos otra faceta de él.
