Greetings Movies & TVshows community, I want to start this month reviewing those Korean series that premiered throughout 2023; precisely, the ones that I liked the most or caught my attention, starting with Island, which has as part of the main cast Cha eunwoo, one of my favorite actors, although it premiered for 2022, the series ended in 2023, so I count it as part of that year.

Synopsis
Who Mi-Ho (Lee Da-Hee) is the protagonist of this story and is the only daughter of an important businessman. She has an arrogant attitude, a bit conceited I would say that, for a mistake she makes, she fights with her father, who ends up sending her to Jeju Island, where she will carry out the position of ethics teacher, somewhat ironic considering the personality she had at the beginning, since this character presents a quite significant evolution.
However, what would be a way to reform such an attitude, became much more, as the island holds evils that will undoubtedly turn its existence into chaos, where it will be hanging by a thread between life and death, between the past and the present.
In this, she will be involved with new people who will come into her life to reveal the secrets of the past, among them we have the Catholic priest and exorcist Geovanny / Kang Chan-hyuk (Cha eun.woo) and Van, an immortal being who is not fully human and who was trained to become a weapon to fight against evil, which Mi-Ho will be undeniably attracted to and, everything will be due to the past that haunts them.
Personal Opinion
To be honest, I got into this drama because of Cha eun woo, but the truth is that it has a really interesting plot, with effects and photography really praiseworthy, from my point of view. You are completely involved in this story intertwined between a past and the present lived, adding that, although it focuses on hunting demons, it gradually introduces new characters, which gives more dynamism to the narration of the fantastic events exposed.
I must admit that I find the slow motion effects generated when it comes to fights, especially those with a touch of magic, really interesting and this series is not far behind with the use of this resource. This story manages to visualize several themes, among them child abuse, revenge, the struggle between good and evil and how each one can choose which path to take between these two moral sides.
It's an interesting drama, with good performances, and I'm even surprised how cool eun-woo plays this character. It is recommended to watch it, especially if you like these fantasy and mystical themes, although I warn you that its ending is open-ended.

Sinopsis
Who Mi-Ho (Lee Da-Hee) es la protagonista de esta historia y es hija única de un importante empresario. Ella posee una actitud arrogante, un poco creída diría yo que, por un error que comete, pelea con su padre, mismo que la termina enviando a la Isla Jeju, donde llevará a cabo el cargo de profesora de ética, un tanto irónico considerando la personalidad que poseía en un inicio, ya que este personaje presenta una evolución bastante significativa.
Sin embargo, lo que sería una manera de reformar tal actitud, se convirtió en mucho más, pues la Isla guarda males que, sin duda alguna, volverá su existencia un caos, donde estará pendiendo de un hilo entre la vida y la muerte, entre el pasado y el presente.
En ello, se verá envuelta con nuevas personas que llegarán a su vida a revelar los secretos del pasado, entre ellos tenemos a el sacerdote y exorcista católico Geovanny/ Kang Chan-hyuk (Cha eun.woo) y a Van, un ser inmortal que no es humano completamente y que fue entrenado para convertirse en un arma que luche contra el mal, del cual Mi-Ho se sentirá atraída innegablemente y, todo se deberá a ese pasado que los persigue.
Opinión Personal
Siendo sincera, me adentré este drama por Cha eun woo, pero la verdad posee una trama realmente interesante, con efectos y fotografía realmente elogiables, desde mi punto de vista. Te envuelve completamente esa historia entrelazada entre un pasado y el presente vivido, agregando que, a pesar de todo se enfoca en cazar demonios, te va introduciendo poco a poco nuevos personajes, que le otorga mayor dinamismo a la narración de los hechos fantásticos expuestos.
Debo admitir que, ese efecto que generan en cámara lenta, cuando se trata de peleas, sobre todo, aquellas con un toque de magia, realmente me parece interesantes y, esta serie, no se queda atrás con el uso de ese recurso. En esta historia se logra visualizar varios temas entre ellos el abuso infantil, la venganza, la lucha entre el bien y el mal y como cada uno puede elegir que camino tomar entre esas dos vertientes morales.
Es un drama interesante, con actuaciones buenas, e incluso me sorprende lo fresco que eun – woo interpreta este personaje. Se la recomienda ver, más si les gusta estos temas fantasiosos y místicos, aunque si les advierto su final es abierto.
