Greetings Movies & TVshows community, today I want to share with you my review about the series Sweet Home, taking advantage of the fact that the second season was recently released, which I will also talk a little bit about.

Synopsis
When the family of our protagonist Cha Hyun-soo (Song Kang) dies, he moves to a new apartment, where he plans to commit suicide, but before that, strange things begin to happen in the condominium; people are transformed into strange beings, which starts with nosebleeds, one of the most recurrent infectious symptoms in it.
However, at first it is believed to be a disease, but later it is revealed that it is probably a kind of curse (this part is not very clear), where people come to acquire bestial abilities and physical aspects, which differ from each other, which seek protein (feeding on humans). This will lead all the residents to try to find a way to survive the confinement, to be brave enough to face the monsters and, likewise, to isolate the "infectious" in order to create an "order".
However, you will never know what will happen, because the plot wraps you in suspense and terror, with characters where you can feel identified, as each one will bring one or more important elements to the story, creating balance to all the events that will happen to it.
Personal opinion
Sweet Home, in particular I got into its story by pure step, but I really ended up liking it; it is one of those series that you do not expect much and you get a slap in the face; the dark tones that are handled in it, taking the apocalyptic genre, give it a significant plus. Also, the way in which the script is structured, in which it doesn't explain everything at once, but rather it gradually lets you know the message to be transmitted, I think it's great, because you want to see the next chapter anxiously, there is no certainty of what will happen later.
This k-drama brings to light Freud's theme of the unconscious, about the desires oppressed in it; in this series it seems that those deepest desires rise to the surface where they not only take shape, but also deform in the process, adopting the aspects of those supernatural creatures. Likewise, Jung's archetypes are manifested, where each character takes a decisive position for survival, we see the mother, the leader, among others, which wraps it, it seems to me, in a psychological tone.
I must admit that I liked the first season much more than the second, because in the continuation I got lost in some scenes and in the plot in general, besides I found certain deaths unnecessary. I hope they bring us a better story in the third installment.
Although I have not read the webtoon, I have seen certain scenes of it, observing changes that happen in the adaptation; I do not feel it is bad, because variations can be made that allow the audience to go deeper into it and not take the story (who already saw the original) as something repetitive, however, I think they should not have omitted details that are the essence of why the work is called or structured in that way.
Anyway, if you like suspense and terror, you can't miss this series, although I must admit that it has certain weaknesses that can be seen, especially in the animation of the monsters. But, upon further analysis of the whole plot and each of the figures presented, you will see a really captivating and intriguing story.

Sinopsis
Al morir la familia de nuestro protagonista Cha Hyun-soo (Song Kang), se muda a un nuevo apartamento, en donde tiene pensando suicidarse, pero antes de ello, comienzan a suceder cosas extrañas en el condominio; las personas se van transformando en seres extraños, que inicia con el sangrado de la nariz, uno de los síntomas infeccioso más recurrentes en el mismo.
Sin embargo, al principio se cree que es una enfermedad, pero más adelante se va revelando que, probablemente, sea una especie de maldición (No es muy claro esta parte), donde las personas llegan adquirir habilidades y aspectos físicos bestiales, que difieren uno de otro, los cuales buscan proteínas (alimentarse de humanos). Esto llevará a que todos los residentes procuren encontrar una manera de sobrevivir al encierro, ser valientes para enfrentarse a los monstruos y, de igual manera, aislar a los “infecciosos” para lograr crear un “orden”.
No obstante, nunca se sabrá lo que podrá pasar, pues la trama te envuelve en suspenso y terror, con personajes en donde te podrás sentir identificado, ya que cada uno aportará uno o varios elementos importantes a la historia, creando balance a todos los sucesos que transcurrirá a la misma.
Opinión personal
Sweet Home, en lo particular me adentré a su historia por puro paso, pero realmente me termino gustando; es de esas series que no esperas mucho y te dan una abofeteada; los tonos oscuros que se manejan en la misma, tomando el género apocalíptico, le dan un plus bastante significativo. Además, la forma en cómo se estructura el guion, en el que no te explica todo de una, sino que te va soltando poco a poco el mensaje a transmitir, me parece grandioso, porque deseas ver el siguiente capitulo con ansias, no hay certeza de lo que ocurrirá más adelante.
Este k-drama hace relucir el tema del inconsciente de Freud, acerca de los deseos oprimidos en el mismo; en esta serie pareciera que esos deseos más profundos, suben a la superficie donde, no solo toman forma, también se deforman en el proceso, adoptando los aspectos de esas criaturas sobrenaturales. Asimismo, se manifiestan los arquetipos de Jung, en donde cada personaje toma una posición determinante para la sobrevivencia, vemos a la madre, al líder, entre otros, lo que la envuelve, al mi parecer, en un tono psicológico.
Debo admitir que, me gustó mucho más la primera temporada que la segunda, pues en la continuación me perdí en algunas escenas y en la trama en general, además que me parecieron innecesarias ciertas muertes. Espero nos traigan en la tercera entrega, una mejor historia.
Aunque no he leído el webtoon, he visto ciertas escenas del mismo, observando cambios que sucede en la adaptación; no lo siento malo, pues se pueden hacer variaciones que le permita al público adentrarse más a la misma y no tomar la historia (quien ya vio la original) como algo repetitivo, sin embargo, opino que no debieron omitir detalles que son la esencia de porque la obra se llama o se estructura de esa manera.
En fin, si les gusta mucho el suspenso y terror, no pueden dejar de ver esta serie, aunque si debo admitir que posee ciertos puntos flojos que llegan a visualizarse, más que todo en la parte de animación de los monstruos. Pero, al analizar más a fondo toda la trama y cada una de las figuras que se presenta, verán una historia realmente cautivadora e intrigante.
