Reseña de la Película "Chupa" (Esp-Eng)

Feliz noche amigos de Hive amantes del cine y de las buenas películas, hoy les quiero compartir una pelí estrenada este año 2023 que no había tenido la oportunidad de ver, hasta que mis hijos se empeñaron anoche en ver una película en familia y escogieron esta y de verdad que me gustó mucho, es ideal para ver en familia y en compañía de los niños.

Por lo general este no es mi género de películas favoritas, ya que siempre suelo ver film de acción, de investigación, intriga, suspenso y policíacas, pero cuando tenemos hijos pequeños el panorama cambia.

Esta película está clasificada en Netflix en el género de películas para ver con la familia, así que encajó justo en lo que estábamos buscando, se llama "Chupa" y está ambientada en un pueblo de México donde existe una criatura que supera la realidad.

Esta película está dirigida por Jonás Cuarón y protagonizada por Evan Whitten como Alex, Demián Bichir en el papel de Chava, Ashley Ciarra interpretando a Luna y Christian Slater como Richard Quinn. En ella se cuenta la historia de un niño quien tiene que viajar a México para encontrarse con su abuelo paterno y demás primos, para mantenerse en contacto con sus parientes luego de la muerte de su padre.

Happy evening friends of Hive movie lovers and good movies, today I want to share with you a movie released this year 2023 that I had not had the opportunity to see, until my children were determined last night to see a family movie and they chose this one and I really liked it, it is ideal to watch with the family and in the company of children.
Usually this is not my favorite movie genre, as I always watch action, investigation, intrigue, suspense and crime films, but when we have young children the picture changes.
This movie is classified on Netflix in the genre of movies to watch with the family, so it fit right into what we were looking for, it's called "Chupa" and is set in a town in Mexico where there is a creature that overcomes reality.
This movie is directed by Jonás Cuarón and stars Evan Whitten as Alex, Demián Bichir as Chava, Ashley Ciarra playing Luna and Christian Slater as Richard Quinn. It tells the story of a young boy who has to travel to Mexico to meet his paternal grandfather and other cousins to keep in touch with his relatives after the death of his father.

Su mamá no lo puede acompañar por motivos de trabajo y él se va solo, es recibido por su abuelo paterno en el aeropuerto, quien lo sorprende con un gran abrazo. Es cuando se van a la finca de su abuelo y este le cuenta de sus orígenes y le habla de su papá.

Aquí podemos ver cómo el niño se muestra esquivo cuando le tocan el tema de su padre, de quién evita hablar para no contactar con sus emociones y no sentir dolor, continúa viviendo una profunda tristeza que no exterioriza y la camufla usando un vídeo juego.

Al llegar a la casa conoce a sus primos, dos parientes que junto a su abuelo compartirían con el durante estás vacaciones. De sus primos podemos darnos cuenta que ambos fueron amables con el y lo hicieron sentir en casa, su prima Luna era un poco mayor que Alex y su primo Chava era contemporáneo con el, quien era amante de la lucha libre.

Y este amor por la lucha libre, se debe a que su abuelo fue campeón de este deporte en sus años de juventud, y a la fecha aún conservaba sus trajes y vídeos de aquellos tiempos de victoria.

When he arrives home he meets his cousins, two relatives who, together with his grandfather, would share with him during these vacations. Of his cousins we can see that both were kind to him and made him feel at home, his cousin Luna was a little older than Alex and his cousin Chava was contemporary with him, who was a lover of wrestling.
And this love for wrestling, is because his grandfather was a champion of this sport in his youth, and to this day he still kept his costumes and videos of those times of victory.

En la trama podemos ver qué un grupo de científicos realizan unas investigaciones para dar a conocer la existencia del chupa cabras, un animal quien extraía la sangre de las cabras en aquellas tierras. Podemos ver cómo en la expedición de una cueva encuentran a lo que ellos llaman el "chupa cabras" era un animal pequeño, parecía una mezcla de gato y perro al mismo tiempo, pero este a su vez tenía una particularidad muy llamativa y es que tenía alas y plumas en su cola.

Cuando los investigadores tienen acorralado al cachorro se dan cuenta que a su rescate llega su madre, una criatura de rasgos similares pero mucho más grande y aparentemente muy peligrosa, quien rápidamente toma a su hijo y lo saca de la cueva e intentan escapar, resultando herida en ese proceso.

Aquí podemos ver el instinto maternal de esta criatura quien protege a toda costa a su cría y comienza una casería por parte de los hombres hacia estos animales, que hacen que la madre huya a toda velocidad con su hijo, no podía volar, así que sin darse cuenta cruzo la carretera justo cuando venía un carro y la golpeó, pero viendo que ya no podía proteger a su cría lo dejó en un lugar seguro y se alejó para despistar a los investigadores y así su pequeño estuviera a salvo.

Tras el impacto, el conductor se baja del vehículo a ver qué había golpeado y a pocos metros encuentra a la pequeña criatura, quien se encontraba un tanto desorientada, y para evitar que corriera peligro el hombre se lo lleva a su casa y lo pone a salvó. Entonces comienza la aventura de los tres primos, quienes comenzaron a interactuar un poco cada vez más.

Here we can see the maternal instinct of this creature who protects her offspring at all costs and begins a hunt by men towards these animals, which makes the mother flee at full speed with her child, she could not fly, so without realizing she crossed the road just when a car was coming and hit her, but seeing that she could no longer protect her child she left it in a safe place and drove away to throw the investigators off the road so her little one would be safe.
After the impact, the driver got out of the vehicle to see what he had hit and a few meters away he found the little creature, who was a little disoriented, and to prevent him from being in danger, the man took him home and put him to safety. Then begins the adventure of the three cousins, who began to interact a little more and more.

Una noche Alex escucha un ruido y se asoma,viendo así a su abuelo dirigirse con una caja musical hacia el granero, al poco tiempo escucha un ruido y ver de donde provenía, ante el miedo por los comentarios sobre el chupa cabras observa en los arbustos a una criatura y pega un grito que los despertó a todos en casa, pero cuando el abuelo intentó revisar, del arbusto salió un conejo, por lo que pensaron que fue solo producto de la imaginación del niño. Pero su abuelo si se notó intrigado.

Es cuando al día siguiente mientras Alex duerme observa a esta mítica criatura quien le pegó un tremendo susto y se escondió rápidamente, el sabía que su vista no le había fallado, pero no quería quedar como miedoso, hasta que al día siguiente se da cuenta en su habitación que la criatura era real y que no era peligrosa como pensaba inicialmente.

Con miedo de lo que pudiera decir el resto de la familia, la oculta en el granero hasta que ya no puede más y sus primos lo descubren.Es por esto que surge su nombre, porque a esta criatura la conocían como el chupa cabras, o al menos eso creían, y por ser pequeño su primo lo bautiza como "Chupa".

Luego nos damos cuenta que su abuelo no estaba en la casa y sus nietos salen a buscarlo en el pueblo para luego encontrarlo desorientado caminando junto a una cabra, es ahí donde se pone en evidencia que su abuelo está olvidando cosas y tiende a desorientarse y a olvidar por algún tipo de enfermedad que padece relacionada con la mente.

The next day, while Alex was sleeping, he saw this mythical creature who scared him to death and he hid quickly, he knew that his sight had not failed him, but he did not want to look scary, until the next day he realized in his room that the creature was real and that it was not as dangerous as he had initially thought.
Afraid of what the rest of the family might say, he hides it in the barn until he can't any longer and his cousins discover it, which is why his name comes up, because this creature was known as the goat sucker, or so they thought, and because it was small, his cousin baptizes it as "Chupa".
Then we realize that his grandfather was not at home and his grandchildren go out to look for him in the village to find him disoriented walking next to a goat, that is where it becomes clear that his grandfather is forgetting things and tends to become disoriented and forget for some kind of disease he suffers from related to the mind.

Es por ello que constantemente confunde a su nieto con su hijo muerto y lo llama igual, tiene varios lapsos de olvidó durante la película, es cuando descubren de regreso a la casa que existe un equipo de hombres trabajando para encontrar a la criatura 👽, y al llegar a la casa se enteran que su abuelo era el hombre quien les comenté inicialmente, que se había llevado a la criatura para protegerla, pero ahora temen porque este grupo de hombres continúan indagando y buscando a este animal, pues detrás de todo esto había una inversión millonaria para investigar a la criatura, porque se presumía podía tener algunas propiedades curativas.

Luego del impacto de aquella noche con la criatura, el abuelo perdió la placa de su carro y con ayuda de la policía, los investigadores dieron con él, y llegaron a la casa, intentando entrar a buscar información, pero el hombre es detenido en la entrada por el abuelo quien lo amenaza de aplicarle las técnicas aprendidas durante sus tiempos de luchador si no se marchaba.

Y es justo aquí donde la cosa se pone emocionante y comienza la casería por parte de los científicos, a partir de aquí podrás ver peleas de lucha libre, el ataque de un puma y mucho más que no te puedes perder porque aquí es donde se pone más interesante. Es una película que apuesta a la imaginación, al amor de familia, a la importancia y el valor de nuestras raíces, de conocer de dónde venimos y que pertenecemos a una familia. Nos muestran que en México la familia se abraza y que a pesar de cualquier dificultad la familia estará para apoyarte.

Es una buena producción para disfrutar en casa con tus pequeños, así que si te pasó igual que a mí que este no es tu género de películas favoritas pero tus hijos te lo piden, pues "Chupa" es una buena elección.

After the impact of that night with the creature, the grandfather lost the license plate of his car and with the help of the police, the investigators found him, and arrived at the house, trying to enter to look for information, but the man is stopped at the entrance by the grandfather who threatens to apply the techniques learned during his time as a wrestler if he does not leave.
And it is right here where things get exciting and the scientists begin the hunt, from here you will see wrestling fights, a puma attack and much more that you can not miss because this is where it gets more interesting. It is a film that bets on imagination, on family love, on the importance and value of our roots, of knowing where we come from and that we belong to a family. It shows us that in Mexico the family embraces each other and that in spite of any difficulty the family will be there to support you.
It is a good production to enjoy at home with your little ones, so if it happened to you like me that this is not your favorite movie genre but your children ask for it, then "Chupa" is a good choice.
