"Leaving the World Behind" was released in October 2023, which is based on the book "Leaving the World Behind" by Numaan Alam, an American writer.
The film tells the story of a family who, to get away from the routine of the city, go to a rented weekend house in Long Islam, in order to disconnect from everyday life and enjoy the beach and nature, however, these plans are truncated when strange events begin to occur around them, how initially the total disconnection of their mobile devices and television.

Intrigados por saber el motivo de que los celulares no funcionen ni el internet, tratan de pasar el día sin preocupaciones, hasta que en la noche unos extraños llaman a su puerta, lo que hace que la película se vuelva hago intrigante, ya que la pareja que toca a la puerta dicen ser padre e hija y los dueños de la casa que ellos acababan de alquilar.

Sin embargo, la pareja de esposos no está muy cómoda con la situación, el marido los invita a pasar, mientras que la mujer desconfía de ellos por la forma en que aparecieron.
Estos le dijeron que podían dormir en el sótano de la casa sin ningún problema y así comienza la interacción con ellos.

Ante la desconexión total con el mundo exterior, temen que algo extraño esté ocurriendo y especulan sobre la posibilidad de un cyber ataque, el dueño de la casa les confiesa que uno de sus clientes le dijo que se aproximaba algo catastrófico en el país y ya lo que estaba ocurriendo les dejaba en claro que algo peligroso estaba ocurriendo.

Entre estos extraños fenómenos se comenzó a notar la presencia de una cantidad enorme de ciervos (venados) rodeando la casa y posteriormente una gran cantidad de flamingos quienes se metieron a la piscina de la casa, como si los animales presentían algo malo o un cambio en el curso de las cosas.

Luego el dueño de la casa sale a investigar donde sus vecinos más cercanos, quienes tienen un teléfono satelital y se da cuenta de que ni siquiera este teléfono sirve, por lo que teme lo peor, mientras se asoma y nota que un avión ha tenido un grave accidente y los pasajeros han muerto, y se da cuenta de que fue por haber perdido el curso y ya se da cuenta de que están ante un cyber ataque, pero lo que más le preocupa es que su esposa está también en un vuelo y teme por su vida.

Después, aterrados, la familia se marcha queriendo volver a su casa junto a sus hijos y en el camino se dan cuenta de que lo que más temían era lo que estaban observando y comienza una travesía en poder salvarse y así se muestra más en claro lo que ocurre y continua la acción por sobrevivir o morir.
