Yes, today I come with a review of the recent novel about the life of one of the Masters of Colombian music, a man who marked a before and after in the popular music of this country. I remember that at all the family parties, back in Venezuela, there was always music by the iconic King of Spite.

Sí, hoy llego con una reseña sobre la reciente novela sobre la vida de uno de los Maestro de la música Colombiana, un hombre que marcó un antes y después en la música popular de este país. Recuerdo que en todas la fiestas familiares, allá en Venezuela, nunca faltaba una música del icónico Rey del Despecho.

Darío de Jesús Gómez Zapata, known nationally and internationally as "Darío Gómez", was an important Colombian musician, composer and lyricist who, after creating several commercial hits, became extremely famous, and to this day is remembered and listened to even after his recent death in 2022.

At the end of last year, Amazon together with the famous RCN channel launched the singer's Bionovela, which was from the beginning a topic of conversation on the networks by his families (especially his brothers), which is a bit controversial for what has been shown in the series itself.

A finales del año pasado, Amazon junto al famoso canal RCN lanzaron la Bionovela del cantante, siendo desde el inicio un tema de conversación en las redes por parte de sus familias (especialmente de sus hermanos), el cual es un poco controversial para lo que se ha mostrado en la serie misma.

The main topic I want to touch on is the accuracy of this story with the real one, although it has already been confirmed that this story was indeed altered, so that it would achieve continuity in it, not beyond reality, what I consider to be the important details of his artistic life were shown, but to coincide the personal one was modified a little.

El tema principal que quiero tocar es la exactitud de esta historia con la real, aunque ya se ha confirmado que esta historia si fue alterada, para que lograra una continuidad en la misma, ni mas allá de la realidad, se mostraron lo que yo considero como los detalles importantes de su vida artística, pero para coincidir se modificó un poco la personal.

At the beginning of this "Bionovela" we met the Gomez Zapata family, a family that seemed perfect, but with a father with a secret that consumes him. This secret becomes bigger, leading him to aggressiveness by means of a "Witchcraft", and worse still, it led Darío to murder him under a bad situation of danger.

En el inicio de esta "Bionovela" conocimos a la familia Gómez Zapata, familia que se mostraba perfecta, pero con un padre con un secreto que lo consume. Este secreto pasa a mayores, llevándolo a la agresividad por parte de una "Brujería", y peor aún, llevó a Darío a asesinarlo bajo una mala situación de peligro.

In reality, this situation seems to have been somewhat different, according to statements by Darío Gómez's brother, who claims that the event was not as it was shown there, being a situation that they say was made up so that Darío would not generate a bad image, but curiously he himself explained how the situation was, which instead of generating a bad image was only a small detail that in the end led to the same fate.

Julio Gómez, el personaje que fue un punto clave demasiado importante de la serie, tambien se confirma que no es real, por mas que haya sido el primo/hermano de Darío y se ve muy real se dice que no está inspirado en nadie. Pero, hay quienes especulan que si estuvo basado en algún amigo traicionero de cantautor, ya que hasta el mismo actor "Juan Pablo Barragán" ha confirmado que lo limitaron a indagar sobre él o a leer la autobiografía del cantante.

I would like to think that this novel described Olga Lucía's relationship with Darío as it was, since they really wrote a relationship that seemed strong until other circumstances led them to separate, a topic I will discuss below. But they had struggles that made Darío another stronger man, more dedicated to his passion, all driven by his wife.

Quisiera pensar que esta novela describió la relación de Olga Lucía con Darío tal como fue, ya que de verdad escribieron una relación que parecía fuerte hasta que otras circunstancias los llevó a separarse, tema que hablaré mas abajo. Pero tuvieron luchas que hicieron a Darío otro hombre más fuerte y dedicado a su pasión, todo impulsado por su esposa.

It is obvious that I must talk about what I admire about Dario Gomez's story. This novel explains how he achieved his great successes and how he became known to the public. If I am not mistaken, it was with a small hit that was heard in Medellin at that time, a Vallenato that became a little popular among the listeners of the radio stations that shared it. But soon after, he resonated more with this double-entendre song, with a story that he lived with Olga Lucia with their recent reunion after years of being separated.

Es obvio que debo hablar de lo que admiro de la historia de Dario Gomez, esta novela explico como fue logrando sus grandes éxitos, y como se dio a conocer en el público, y si no me equivoco, fue con un pequeño éxito que se escuchó en Medellín en aquellos tiempos, un Vallenato que se hizo un poco popular entres el oyentes de las radios que las compartieron. Pero poco después, resonó más con esta canción de doble sentido, con una historia que vivió con Olga Lucía con su reciente reencuentro después de años de estar separados.

I had almost forgotten that the translation of the iconic song “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor was also made and performed by Dario Gomez after the worldwide success that it had generated in his youth, he knew how to take advantage of the moment and his music is also part of the LGBT community by having the liberating lyrics that the iconic “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor has.

Casi había olvidado que la traducción de la icónica canción “I Will Survive” de Gloria Gaynor fue realizada e interpretada tambien por Dario Gomez tras el éxito mundial que este había generado en su juventud, él supo aprovechar el momento y tambien su música forma parte de la comunidad LGBT al tener la letra liberadora que tiene la icónica “I Will Survive” de Gloria Gaynor.

Dario continued fighting to achieve success, and he wanted to take advantage of the moments he lived to make his experiences become music, this is another detail, the soap opera managed to maintain the very captivating and motivating atmosphere, for me this singer was very intelligent and talented, he really always knew how to take advantage of his moment and stayed in the market with all the strategies he could implement.

Dario continuó luchando por lograr conseguir el éxito, y quiso aprovechar los momentos vividos para hacer que sus vivencias se convirtieran en música, esto es otro detalle, la novela logró mantener los ambiente muy cautivadores y motivadores, para mi este cantante fue muy inteligente y talentoso, de verdad supo aprovechar siempre su momento y se mantuvo en el mercado con todas las estrategias que pudo implementar.

When the industry wanted to accept Darío's commercial idea, it became an immediate success. He wanted to sing about heartbreak, betrayal and deception, an idea that was unique in its time, since the most popular thing was to sing about love, the idea of heartbreak seemed sad and depressing, but when it was accepted by the greatest creator of heartbreak music in Colombia, it progressively became a success.

Cuando la industria quiso aceptar la idea comercial de Darío se volvió un éxito inmediato, quiso cantar al desamor, la traición y el engaño, una idea que resultó única en su tiempo, ya que lo mas popular era cantarle al amor, la idea del desamor parecia triste y depresivo, pero cuando fue aceptada por el mayor creador de música de despecho de Colombia, se volvió un éxito progresivamente.

My favorite, and the one I liked every time they played it, was "Casita Vieja," a song dedicated to her past that makes me very sentimental and reminds me of my father, who to this day I miss very much, almost 5 years after his departure. And it also made me cry every time I saw the scene where Darío and Olga met. In the concert, she sings the famous song "Mienteme" and I think it seems like a very moving scene and at the same time makes me sad for the end of a beautiful relationship.

Mi favorita, y que me gustaba cada que la colocaban era la de "Casita Vieja", una música dedicada a su pasado que me pone muy sentimental y me trae recuerdo de mi Padre, quien hasta el dia de hoy extraño mucho con casi 5 años desde su partida. Y también me hizo llorar todas las veces que veía la escena donde se conocieron Darío y Olga, en el concierto canta la famosa cancion "Mienteme" y yo creo que parece una escena muy conmovedora y que a la vez me vuelve triste por el final de una bella relación.

And finally, there is the great separation of the protagonists of this story, in which we see the intervention of a woman apparently younger than the singer, and curiously I saw a news story that gave a version of the real events that leaves anyone perplexed, a relative made it clear on his social networks that the singer stole the heart of his niece, with whom he shared his last years of life, alarming news, but if no one in his family did anything, not much can be expected.

Y para finalizar, está la gran separación de los protagonista de esta historia, en la cual vemos la intervención de una mujer aparentemente menor que el cantante, y curiosamente vi una noticia que daba una versión de los hechos reales que dejan perplejo a cualquiera, un familiar dejó claro por sus redes sociales que el cantante le robó el corazón a s sobrina, con quien compartió sus últimos años de vida, una noticia alarmante, pero si nadie en su familia hizo nada, no se puede esperar mucho.

This news, as serious as it may seem, based on what was shown in the soap opera, his family did not take it badly, rather they noticed that there was love here, but it does not make clear how healthy that relationship was or what the singer had to do to reach these events.

Esta noticia por mas que parezca grave, por lo que se mostró en la novela, su familia no lo tomó a mal, más bien notaron que si hubo amor aquí, pero no deja claro que tan sana fue esa relación o que tuvo el cantante para llegar a estos hechos.

However, I enjoyed the story that was shown on TV, it had a good script, cast, and an excellent story of overcoming that must be learned in life, a person who made history and also has a lot to teach, although if the latest clarification about his last wife is true, it would be a real controversy for the actor's artistic life.

Sin embargo disfruté la historia que se mostró en la TV, tuvo un buen guión, reparto, y una excelente historia de superación que se debe aprender en la vida, una persona que hizo historia y además tiene mucho que enseñar, aunque si la última aclaración sobre su última esposa es cierta, sería una verdadera polémica para la vida artística del actor.
