I think one thing that makes people miss good and blockbuster movies is the fact that the movie industry is very wide. Everyday, we have up and coming actors and we can’t watch all movies.
Also, we have different movies from different actors in the world, new movies get released everyday. Unfortunately, there are some hidden gem movies that I’m sure a lot of us haven’t seen just because of how wide the movie industry is.

Well, I’m very happy to be sharing with you a blockbuster, hidden gem and a great movie titled House of Gaa. House of Gaa is an African and Nigerian based movie owned by Funsho Adeolu. Femi Branch is a renowned Nigerian actor who has featured in so many great movies. House of Gaa consists of other great actors like Funke Akindele, Ibrahim Chatta, Femi Adebayo, Toyin Aimakhu and so many other big Nigerian actors. You may feel I’m overhyping this movie until I tell you what I love about this movie.

*Why do I love this movie and what do I like about it?

To be very honest, I love everything about this movie. I love the plot of the story. The movie is based on an historical event which happened so many years back in Oyo State Nigeria. I love it for the fact that young ones like me don’t have to read the history but watch it in movies.
House of Gaa is a movie about the Bashorun Gaa, a prominent chief in the Oyo Kingdom who terrorizes everyone including the King. Bashorun Gaa has a priest who is solidly behind his back who makes charm for him so that evil won’t befall him.
Bashorun Gaa has waged war against three Kings in the Oyo kingdom and even other Kings in other villages. Eventually, he met his waterloo.

A new King emerged and decided to battle with the Bashorun Gaa. Things began to go bad for Bashorun Gaa when when he lost his most powerful child. Bashorun Gaa has a younger brother, Olubu. Bashorun Gaa dislikes Olubu so much but due to this, Olubu connived with the present King to destroy the whole of Bashorun Gaa’s Kingdom. Fortunately, Bashorun Gaa’s last child, Oyemekun survived and ran away from the Kingdom and never got back into the Kingdom.

What a story! There is no way you won’t love this great movie. I am sure I missed some parts of the movie but don’t you think you should wonder what and how scary Bashorun Gaa looks like? Don’t you think you should worry about his Kingdom, how many wives he married and even how much evil he has done.

Is there a scene that pops into my mind?

Yes! I remember the scene where Bashorun Gaa’s first child was killed. He felt the agony and pain of losing one’s first child. You know what that means? Imagine the scariest face on earth losing one’s first son, groaning bitterly, shivering and everyone pleading with him not to do something funny.
Bashorun Gaa was like a mini god.

Is there any performance that left an impression?

Yes! Femi Branch killed his role. I’m not saying this because he’s the protagonist of the play but give honor to whom deserves it. He did a very great job. He fixed himself into the character and did it perfectly well. If you never knew that he’s an actor, you’d think he’s a real warrior and that’s to show you how well he played the role.
Big ups to Femi Branch and other supporting actors.

Why is this movie great?

It’s a great movie for so many reasons. It’s a great one because of the plot. It’s a plot that tells history and shows how life was in the olden days Oyo Kingdom. Oyo state is one of the greatest states with history in Nigeria so if a movie can portray their acts, it shows that history happened in that movie.
If I’m allowed to rate this movie, I’d rate it on a 9/10. It’s a fantastic movie!
