A Kyle XY Review

Tired of watching the usual generic TV series with generic storytelling and characters so plain it becomes difficult to invest in the snooze fest the directors shove in the faces of the audience with the name CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT?. Well look no further, this is bound to be a ride to enjoy. This is a review of the live action series known as KYLE XY.

The series Kyle XY is a sci-fic show that aired on the ABC channel for three years before it was officially cancelled after its third season due to financial issues and drastic decline in viewership. The series focuses on a boy named Kyle( didn't have a name at the beginning) who wakes up the middle of the woods with complete memory loss about his entire life and inability to even communicate.

He wanders into the city where the local authorities picks him up as he was stark naked thus causing a scene on the road. He is taken to a rehabilitation center where a psychologist by the name of Nicole Trager takes him home to give him personal treatment and study his rare case as he takes oddity to the next level due to his lack of a belly button. He is officially named Kyle and taken home to stay with the Tragers until his condition improves.

Kyle new life starts with Tragers, a family that lives in the suburbs region of Seattle with the couples having two kids- Lori and Josh. Kyle starts to experience life all from scratch acting as a child as it all feels new to him but due to his extraordinary potentials, Kyle learns at an extremely fast pace which shocks the entire family with josh propounding a theory that Kyle must be an alien because his abilities were beyond human capabilities. At first the kids treat Kyle coldly but with time they warm to him and the family takes it a step further by adopting him as part of the family.

Kyle continues to understand the world, create bonds with friends, enrolls in high school to live life as a normal teenager despite having the IQ of a super genius as he is able to solve scientific and mathematically problems without being taught and builds a romantic connection with his neighbor Amanda all while trying to figure who he is, where he came and why nobody was searching for their missing kid.

Further into the series it is revealed that Kyle was no ordinary kid, but a bioengineered human created through science experiment and the fact he was born in a pod and not a womb was the reason he had no belly button. The lab responsible for his birth is a secret organization known as ZZYZX which has the objective create the perfect human with peak physical and mental conditions. The organization is hellbent on retrieving the prized possession by any means necessary with Kyle's new found family as collateral damage. Now Kyle has to protect his family, friends, people close to him and the girl he loves from the danger that is ZZYZZ
We never got to find out what truly happens because the series stops in a cliffhanger due to its cancellation but if you haven't seen KYLE XY, I highly recommend you do.

My favorite episode of the series would have to be the 10th episode of the second season ( house of cards) where Amanda asks Kyle out to prom which was the beginning of both parties becoming a couple. Every time I watch that particular scene I get goose bumps over and over again .
