La virgen roja
Inspired by an incident in 1930s Spain, '' The movie “La virgen roja” was remarkable as an impressive production that brought a story trapped in the dark pages of history to the silver screen.
While the story of a free-spirited woman who opposes the pressures created by society and faith is brought to the screen, I can say that the thoughts and actions that challenge the morality of the period are scrutinized.
The movie, which has themes such as social morality, the search for gender freedom and individual rebellion, is full of teachings that are still universally valid and we can say that the fire lit by a character is one of the foundations of the positive reflections of today.
In fact, it has a tragic story as well, because to be terminated for life by someone who planted these ideas in your mind is, for me, the end of the line.
I don't know how tragic it is to be seen as a project and to be terminated because of the conviction that it was a failure, but it is certain that similar ideas were instilled in other generations by what he left behind.
Alba Planes, who gives life to the character of Hildegart, nicknamed the Red Virgin, manages to make you feel the complex world of the character and her change from the moment she begins to discover freedom.
One of the most impressive elements of the movie was the character's facial expressions, gestures and monologues reflecting the conflict in his inner world. The actor, who I think has managed to establish a strong connection with the audience, impressively portrays the extra awareness that can rally the masses behind him.
I cannot say that the movie is only a biographical narrative. Hildegart, who has become an expert on female sexuality even though she is only 16 years old, has been raised by her mother Auro as the ideal woman of the future.
One of the things we encounter frequently in the story is the scenes of confrontation with the consequences of this upbringing, these scenes proceed as a kind of séance and provide immersion in the story and trigger a sense of curiosity.
The film successfully captures the atmosphere of the period and the character's struggle to convey the ideas she develops in her inner world to the outside world, while the location and period-appropriate costume choices also contribute to the historical atmosphere.
There are occasional gaps between historical reality and dramatic fiction, but I can say that the moments when Hildegrant begins to taste the feeling of love make up for every deficiency in the film.
I recommend you to watch La virgen roja, which centers on the themes of social oppression, women's freedom and individual resistance. With its unexpected ending, they managed to reflect the tragedy in an extraordinary way and had an impact on the audience. Personally, I must admit that the last scene of the movie affected me deeply.
I can also say that it is a production that should not be missed by those who want to travel deeply into both history and the human soul.
Thank you for being here and reading, take care and goodbye!
