Hello movie lovers in this beautiful community of hive, I hope you are very well today, this time I decided to participate in this fabulous initiative where we must talk about a favorite movie that has related to the plot the disease and in my case this is not entirely about a disease but about a cure, the cure that eventually is killing more and more people, a sinister cure that makes some people believe that will give them eternal life and that will make them immune to diseases, if you want to participate in this contest I leave the link to the post here, this movie I wouldn't classify it as one of my favorite movies but without a doubt the aesthetics and the theme I loved and also the way in which terror is represented in it. Hola amantes del cine en esta preciosa comunidad de hive, espero esté muy bien el día de hoy, en esta ocasión decidí participar en esta fabulosa iniciativa en donde debemos hablar sobre una película favorita que tenga relacionado a la trama la enfermedad y en mi caso ésta no es del todo sobre una enfermedad sino sobre una cura, la cura que eventualmente va matando a más y más personas, una cura siniestra que a algunos les hace creer que les dará vida eterna y que los hará inmunes a las enfermedades, si quieren participar en este concurso les dejo el link del post aquí, ésta película no la catalogaría como de mis películas favoritas pero sin duda la estética y el tema me encantaron y también la forma en la que se ve representado el terror en ella. Let's talk a little about what this movie is about, a stockbroker is sent on a trip to the Swiss Alps where he must look for another worker who is in a recovery center and who has to return to work, upon arriving at the place he realizes that something is not right, everything looks very strange and people look too happy so he decides to investigate a little about that strange spa and see why its inhabitants never leave.
This horror, drama and mystery film has a somewhat varied cast which brings together actors who stood out in more recent films, currently starring Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs. The film has a running time of 2 hours and 26 minutes and will not only deal with the mystery of that remote place but also with an ancient story that circulates around the place, its strange inhabitants and the mysterious cure for stress. The movie released in 2017 is available on the Prime Video platform (Venezuela) and in addition is also available on any movie page, it is dubbed in Spanish and subtitled, has a rating of +16 due to the fact that it contains violence, illegal or conduct harmful to health and explicit nudity with dialogues with sexual connotations.
Hablemos un poco sobre lo que va ésta película, un corredor de bolsa es enviado a un viaje a los Alpes Suizos en donde debe buscar a otro trabajador que se encuentra en un centro de recuperación y el cual tiene que volver al trabajo, al llegar al lugar se da cuenta de que algo no está bien, todo se ve muy extraño y las personas se ven demasiado alegres así que decide investigar un poco sobre aquel extraño spa y ver el por qué sus habitantes no se van jamás.
Esta película de género terror, drama y misterio cuenta con un reparto un tanto variado y el cual reúne a actores que destacaron en películas más recientes actualmente el cual está protagonizado por Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth y Jason Isaacs. La película tiene una duración de 2 horas y 26 minutos y no solo tratará sobre el misterio de aquel remoto lugar sino que también sobre una historia antigua que circula por el lugar, sus extraños habitantes y la misteriosa cura para el estrés. La película estrenada en 2017 se encuentra disponible en la plataforma de Prime Video (Venezuela) y además también se encuentra disponible en cualquier página de películas, se encuentra doblada al español y subtitulada, tiene una clasificación de +16 debido a que contiene violencia, conductas ilegales o perjudiciales para la salud y desnudez explícita con diálogos con connotaciones sexuales.
Something I loved with madness of this film is the incredible aesthetics, I'm a big fan that producers and directors take very seriously the work of the aesthetics of their film as this adds points to the genre they are dealing with, in this case, the terror was seen incredibly through that blue filter, the mountains, the dark and gloomy streets and especially the hospital where everything happens, the makeup work to the actors/actresses is also very important and something that stands out here is the way they managed to make the actors/actresses look like in the film, the dark and gloomy streets and above all the hospital where everything happens, the makeup work to the actors / actresses is also very important and something that stands out here is the way in which they managed to make the actors look sick, weak and in general all the pale aspect and you could see how they are changing little by little. I think the story was very well worked because it is a theme that is very recurrent in society, aging and how it affects us, how it changes the way we see ourselves and the fact that we have to deal with it and accept it, plus they also touch on another important issue which is stress, they show how stress is physically reflected through the characters where you can see that they are addicted to work either for a good salary and that provides a comfortable life or to belong to a part of society and feel important and all this is what makes the people hospitalized in that medical center decide to stay there as they find comfort in knowing that they will live forever, as they have been told by the workers there. The approach to terror is also a point in its favor since they show in a crude and cruel way the torture that the protagonist was subjected to, not too many elements were needed to generate, in my case, pure terror and fear and although the 2 hours and 26 minutes seemed a bit excessive for the film, which could have been trimmed in some scenes, overall I feel it had an incredible finish and I will remember it forever.
Algo que amé con locura de esta película es la increíble estética, soy muy fan de que los productores y directores tomen muy en serio el trabajo de la estética de sus película ya que esto les suma puntos al género que estén tratando, en este caso, el terror se vio increíblemente a través de ese filtro azul, las montañas, las calles oscuras y tenebrosas y sobretodo el hospital en donde ocurre todo, el trabajo del maquillaje a los actores/actrices también es muy importante y algo que sobresale aquí es la forma en la que lograron hacer que los actores tuvieran ese aspecto de enfermedad, debilidad y en general todo el aspecto pálido y que se pudiera ver como van cambiando poco a poco. Creo que estuvo muy bien trabajada la historia porque es un tema que es muy recurrente en la sociedad, el envejecer y como eso nos afecta, como cambia nuestra forma de vernos a nosotros mismos y el hecho de que tengamos que lidiar con ello y aceptarlo, además de que también tocan otro tema importante el cual es el estrés, muestran como se refleja físicamente el estrés a través de los personajes donde se nota que son adictos al trabajo ya sea por un buen salario y que brinda una vida cómoda o por pertenecer a una parte de la sociedad y sentirse importantes y todo esto es lo que hace que las personas internadas en ese centro médico decidan quedarse allí ya que encuentran comodidad en el saber que vivirán para siempre, según les han dicho los trabajadores allí. El enfoque del terror también es un punto muy a su favor ya que muestran de una forma cruda y cruel la tortura por la que se vio sometido el protagonista, no se necesitaron demasiados elementos para que, en mi caso, generara terror puro y miedo y aunque las 2 horas y 26 minutos me parecieron un poco excesivas para la película, la cuál pudo haberse recortado en algunas escenas, en general siento que tuvo un acabado increíble y la recordaré siempre.
This film marked me from the first day I saw it because I found it quite curious by the style of recording and lighting and generally all that strange vibe that emanates, the actors also caught my attention as I knew one or two works of them and I was dazzled by their performance in this film especially the way they were showing their facial expressions as it looks like a real feeling, terror and fear can be felt just by watching them and it is something admirable on their part as they are doing their job splendidly. When I finished watching it it really left me with a feeling of satisfaction because despite how horrible and disgusting the story was not only the hospital with its strange rooms and places with machinery for extreme purposes but also the characters, the director of the hospital who hides the true purpose of the supposed cure for evil and his apparent calmness in the face of any problem, his daughter who behaves in strange ways and who doesn't seem to care about what happens there and the protagonist who is put to a test where his sanity must resist to prove that he is right about everything, about the supposed medical treatments, about how the inhabitants outside the town are frightened by the people in the hospital and about the true purpose of the cure.
Ésta película me marco desde el primer día que la vi ya que me pareció bastante curiosa por el estilo de grabación y la iluminación y en general toda esa vibra extraña que emana, los actores también me llamaron la atención ya que conocía uno o dos trabajos de ellos y me deslumbró su actuación en esta película sobretodo la forma en la que iban mostrando sus expresiones faciales ya que se ve como un sentimiento real, el terror y el miedo se puede sentir con solo verlos y es algo admirable por su parte ya que están haciendo espléndidamente su trabajo. Al terminar de verla realmente me dejó un sentimiento de satisfacción porque a pesar de lo horrible y repugnante que fuera la historia no solo el hospital con sus extrañas habitaciones y lugares con maquinarias con fines extremos sino también de los personajes, el director del hospital quien esconde el verdadero propósito de la supuesta cura para el mal y su aparente calma ante cualquier problema, su hija quien se comporta de maneras extrañas y quien parece no importarle lo que sucede ahí y el protagonista quien se ve sometido a una prueba en donde su cordura deberá resistir para probar que el tiene razón sobre todo, sobre los supuestos tratamientos médicos, sobre como los habitantes afuera del pueblo están atemorizados por la gente del hospital y sobre el verdadero propósito de la cura.
The story was original and interesting to me, a hospital, or as they made it seem, a wellness center for people who are under extreme stress, depressed or with some disease which after spending a few days in it never want to leave it, the way some patients tell the story of that hospital founded by a baron over 200 years ago and built among the ruins of the castle, This baron wanted an heir of pure blood so he decided to marry and procreate with his sister but when he found out that she was infertile decided to start doing some infernal experiments with the villagers and when he found her he could cure his wife but not everything was happiness because the villagers realized the amount of dead that came out of those experiments so they decided to break into the castle and burn it, they kidnapped the baron's wife and threw her baby into the subway aquifer and were never heard from again, a mysterious and intricate story which was the birthplace of that welfare center and although at first there seems to be nothing out of the ordinary we have a warning, whoever enters that place never comes out again.
La historia se me hizo original e interesante, un hospital, o como lo hacían parecer, un centro de bienestar para las personas que se encuentran bajo un estrés extremo, deprimidas o con alguna enfermedad las cuales luego de pasar algunos días en el no quieren dejarlo nunca, la forma en la que algunos pacientes cuentan la historia de aquel hospital fundado por un barón hace más de 200 años y construido de entre las ruinas del castillo, éste barón deseaba un heredero de sangre pura por lo cual decidió casarse y procrear con su hermana pero al enterarse que ésta era infértil decidio comenzar a realizar unos experimentos infernales con los habitantes del pueblo y al encontrarla pudo curar a su esposa pero no todo fue felicidad ya que los aldeanos se dieron cuenta de la cantidad de muertos que salieron de aquellos experimentos así que decidieron irrumpir en el castillo y quemarlo, secuestraron a la esposa del barón y arrojaron a su bebé al acuífero subterráneo y nunca más se supo de ellos, una misteriosa y intrincada historia la cual fue el lugar de nacimiento de aquel centro de bienestar y aunque al principio parece no haber nada fuera de lo normal tenemos una advertencia, el que entra en aquel lugar no vuelve a salir nunca más.
I can not get out of my head the scene of the torture of the protagonist which was quite graphic and generated me a lot of discomfort and fear because, as always shown in films that are inspired by places like Germany, Norway or Russia shows very explicitly and graphically torture and show the most inhumane methods possible, this film was the case and in that scene I really suffered watching it because I could see the pain of the protagonist and not only felt the pain for him but for the things they subjected him to that were quite strong. Still it was an incredible movie and I recommend it for lovers of science fiction and horror, it is a style of unconventional horror in a more realistic way and although the plot is a bit surreal you get to feel as if it were something that really exists.
No me podré quitarme de la cabeza la escena de la tortura al protagonista la cual fue bastante gráfica y me generó muchísima incomodidad y miedo ya que, como siempre muestran en las películas que están inspiradas en lugares como Alemania, Noruega o Rusia muestra muy explicita y gráficamente las torturas y muestran los métodos más inhumanos posibles, está película fue el caso y en esa escena realmente sufrí viéndola ya que podía ver el dolor del protagonista y no solo sentí el dolor por el sino por las cosas a lo que lo sometieron que fueron bastante fuertes. Aún así fue una película increíble y la recomiendo para los amantes de la ciencia ficción y el terror, es un estilo de terror no convencional de forma más realista y aunque la trama es un poco surreal se llega a sentir como si fuera algo que en verdad existe.
