Recently i have watched a great horror movie of 1987, The Gate. This movie is classical horror movie with great fan following.

The Story

The story revolves around 12 to 13 years old boy Geln, his friend Terry and his Sister( Alexandera).

In this story Geln and Terry unintentionally opens the door of hell in their backyard. And the creatures of heaven appears in their home especially when there was no adult is in their home.

Terry and Al (Alexandera) got attacked by the creatures appeared by the opening of Hell Gate but Geln actively takes an action to kill the creatures and saved his Sister and friend.

And the movie ends with a beautiful morning scene when Glen, terry and Al were sitting outside their home and praising eachother for staying strong in terrible night.

The Suspense

The great Suspense of this movie is when the Terry, was reading Bible verse to close the gate of hell but theoughs Bible inside the hole from where the creatures were coming from. And then with a great blast the hole disappears and they all got happy because they have finally closed the door and all the creatures disappeared with the hole too.

But when they came back to their rooms suddenly Glen's rooms' wall brokes and a dead body appears from that broken wall. The dead body opens up his eyes and took Terry along with him inside the wall. And then the wall became the same as it was before the body appears.

Everything has just happened with few minutes the happiness and relief on their face after closing the door has now disappeared and they had realized that these creatures are not gone yet.

The Most horror scene

The horror scens effects me very less because this genre is my favorite and i have watched alot of movies in this genre.

But still the best horror scene that actually scares me was when Terry suddenly appears from the wardrobe with his red eyes. And he bites at Glen's hand with his strong teeths. This scene last for few seconds but it was so sudden that my heart starts beating so hard.

Most lovely Bonding

In this movie i have loved the bonding of Glen and Terry like how they have stands for eachother and always shares small things with eachother.

No doubt the Glen has shared a great bond with his sister too but still Glen and Terry has great bonding.

Especially when Terry is trying to explain Glen about how they have accidentally opened the door of hell but doing some small acts which were normal to them.

Also when Glen's dog dies because terry accidentally drops it down. Glen tries to console him by saying this dog is 97 years old, instead of blaming him for killing his most favorite dog.

My Review

Overall casting and story of the movie was good but I recommend this movie to under the age of 15 to 20. Because the story of movie is little childish,

At the end when Glen killed the Hell creature he used the best rocket his sister gifted him. Which fills my heart with dissatisfaction, maybe because this movie is made for kids.

But this movie has great actors, delivering dialogs perfectly. And has good animation and graphics too. Soo it was a 7/10 movie for me.
