My Verdict on Flight Risk (2025)

I just finished watching Flight Risk (2025) and it was good.

I love it when movies try something like this and pull it off. Something like make an entire movie/story out of one single event/outing that was supposed to be simple and short, begin and end without consequence, but the event ends up being the entire movie.

Single simple events like a flight, a ride, a visit, a walk, simple things like that.

Like a man is supposed to make a simple trip to a destination and the short trip turn out to be the entire movie. I love it when a movie pulls this off, when all the things that happened in that event wasn't boring or just made to prolong the movie. When everything seems legit, the plot holds, and the suspense and thrill isn't compromised.

This was done in Titanic (1997), Bullet Train (2022), The Hateful Eight (2015), etc.

In Flight Risk they pulled it off too, there was never a boring moment where it looked like the story was making clumsy efforts to prolong this thing. Everything was great from the start to finish.

I started by saying, woo, Mark Wahlberg as a villain, only to remember he was a villain in Pain and Gain (2013) too, but many of us viewers wouldn't view him as such in Pain and Gain because the story was told from his perspective.

It's like a mind trick, when a story is told from a character's perspective you end up wishing the character well and mostly rooting for him even when he does the worst evil you've ever witnessed.

A lot of us feel that way without even realizing it most times.

My Few Problems with the Movie

Just a few, like I said and they aren't so big of a deal, but still took away from the enjoyment of the movie for me.

First was how fake Wahlberg's character's bald head was looking, like what in the hell? Costume and make-up could have surely done a better job than that. It was looking too fake and unconvincing.

Second was how the officer, Harris, had a lot of opportunities to kill Wahlberg's character but never did and kept suffering the consequences. That was some type of way to me, kinda unconvincing but not too much, though.

The flare gun's effect was not believable. The flare gun shot had too much effect on Wahlberg's character, who was supposed to be a deadly psychopathic assassin. I don't think anyone would buy that.

This thing about the flare gun is actually the worst thing that happened in the movie, if you ask me, and it lost the movie some really good points.

How would a hardened criminal like that react so childishly to a flare gunshot, fall on the floor and focus on dusting the flare away from his clothes when he was in the middle of a fight that meant so much?

A fight that meant success or failure to his entire mission, especially after his targets had pissed him off that much?

Can't buy that.

Okay, not too many flaws, and I do like Wahlberg, so okay, I'll like to see this movie.🌚

Hmm if you ask me i think reading the flaws has discourage me from watching the movie, it seems the story line is top notch but the production is wack
