Cine Tv Contest: Tale of the nine-tailed season 2

I was a lover of movies. I still am. But it's just harder for me to open up to watching a new movie these days. Every lover of movies can agree that the actors depiction of their roles is one of the things that can make and mar a movie. As amazing as a storyline might be, one wrong expression from the actors might be what throws every effort down the drain.

I've watched quite a number of movies and to pick one with my favourite duo wasn't a so-easy task for me. And considering I've not watched movies in a while, remembering the movies I've watched to pick a favourite was tough. I loved Business Proposal, the girl duo and the boy duo. Even the couples. I loved Puss in Boots. I liked his relationship with Kitty Softpaws, although i'll have loved it if they had gotten more scenes together. I loved the Summer I turned Pretty, team Taylor and Steven, Belly and Jeremiah... And a host of others. But among these many likes of mine, I think the duo I liked most was Lee Yeon and Lee Rang from Tale of the Nine Tailed (Season 2).

I watched this series sometime last year and I loved how those two actors played their roles where the character brothers were concerned. Lee Dong Wook is one of my favorite and most popular Korean actors. His ability to slay his roles in dramas of all genres is something I really admire. And in Tale of The Nine Tailed, he was paired with Kim Bum, my favorite character from the Korean hit - Boys Over Flowers. Not only was he my favourite character from the series. He was also one of the first Korean actors I admired because yeah, he had a really really pretty smile. Not even the legendary Lee Min Ho trumped him in my little mind then.

Kim Bum and Lee Dong Wook acted as Lee Rang and Lee Yeon in this drama. They were siblings, brothers precisely. Lee Yeon, a gumiho (nine-tailed fox), when he is forced to go back into the past, he meets his brother who is dead in the future. Knowing there was no future for them as brothers, he decides to make memories in that past with his brother. Now, this was a decision Lee Yeon made for both of them but Lee Rang, in this particular past from his point of view, was only seeing his brother as a pain in the ass.

I didn't grow up with boys as siblings but I've been told they can be quite a handful. And these two? They were a testament to that. When this sibling duo decided to work together, nothing could beat them. And when they decided to go against each other, they both learnt the hard way. They were both stubborn and mischievous. Being stubborn and mischievous only made them work against each other 90 percent of the time but the love they had for each other was still profound. The way their relationship evolved as they learnt about each other in this season was one I loved the most.

These actors, Kim Bum and Lee Dong Wook, to me, did a very good job with their respective characters. Lee Rang being the irrational sibling with severe anger issues (last-born) and Lee Dong Wook, being the calm and collected on the outside, troublesome on the inside senior brother, made them both very compatible. They acted in such a way that if you as the audience were told they were real life siblings, you definitely would have believed it. From their lovely moments, to their ugly moments, it was so beautiful to watch.

I have so many favourite scenes from them that have lived in my memory for the past one year. One was where Lee Yeon gave up the only egg on his plate for Lee Rang to eat because he knew that in future, he was going to continue eating eggs but Lee Rang would not. There was also this particular scene where Lee Yeon was taunting Lee Rang about what he'll do on his first date with a girl. That scene was hilarious as Lee Rang was so frustrated with his brother there. There are many scenes to love about them and I'll have loved to continue listing them out but no. You need to watch it for yourself to enjoy them.

This is my favourite movie duo and my entry to the #cinetvcontest for the week. Find out more about it here. Lee Yeon and Lee Rang tops the chart currently for me. Who knows, I might watch another that'll beat them.

I'm currently going through a movie slump. For a series enthusiast like the me from two months ago, going a day without watching at least one episode in a series is something I never thought possible. Well, here I am, taking things slowly and using four days to watch a 1hr 20mins movie. I really hope I do get out of it soon. Writing about these favourites of mine reminds me of how much I enjoyed series.

Thanks for reading.

Nine tailed....

They'll just be stealing from anime and be going 😞

They're all Asians you rat. They probably share similar traditions. Don't be too ahead of yourself

I have watched only the first part I’ve been looking for where to watch the second season. Hopefully I enjoy it as well as the first

avatar

Ohh... You should check it out. I feel it was way better than the first season

We'll fight over this man because he is one of my favourite Korean actors as well. I've not seen Tale of the Nine-tailed, though. But I will, because you review alone makes it deserving of a crown. Nicely done!🌺🫶🏾

It's a really really nice drama. Both S1 and S2. You should watch it. Okay, We'll fight but just know that it'll end with 'And she was one of the smartest persons I knew'. (It's not me they're talking about though😂)

I'm not into Korean drama, at least, not the series, but this seems like a good one. I'm not implying that I would see it though😅
