THE FLASH 2023 || MOVIE REVIEW
The Flash has always been a popular movie series featuring several superheroes and villains. However, THE FLASH 2023 movie is not a series but a one-off, featuring the main character, the Flash (Barry Allen) and other superheroes like Batman Wonder woman and Supergirl.
It is surprising how Flash was made to be his own hero and villain at some point.
Barry’s Father, Henry Allen was arrested for the murder of his mother, Nora Allen, but Barry was convinced that his father didn’t kill his mother and there must have been a mix up.
In a quest to vindicate his father and also save his mother, he went back in time and that was how he created more problems than solution.
When I saw DC and Warner Bros as production companies for the movie, I knew a lot of action and thrill are in stock and I wasn’t disappointed.
Lots of exciting and emotional scenes. I was glad with how The Flash had a twin at some point and even triplet! This was because he went back in time.
The opening scene showed Barry at a restaurant about to grab a bite while he got a call from Batman’s wing man, Alfred, who needed his help with a robbery situation gone wrong.
A group of robbers went to an hospital to steal a deadly virus and caused a lot of damage.
While Batman was busy chasing the robbers he needed Barry to save the people in the hospital building which was about to collapse.
Thankfully, Barry was able to save the day before going back for his sandwich. Wonder woman was also there to save Batman.
Back to the issue of his father in prison, Barry figured he could go back in time and rearrange some things, probably save his mother’s life.
Batman warned him never to try such a thing but he never listened as he went back. He got stuck in the past time line and that was where he met a copy of his self.
Barry discovered Henry wasn’t guilty of the offence as he wasn’t at home at the time of Nora’s murder which occurred when Henry had actually gone out to pick a can of tomatoes Nora forgot to buy.
In order to save his mother from being murdered and his father from being imprisoned, Barry sneaked in time and dropped a can of tomatoes in his mother’s basket.
That way, Nora never forgot to buy a can of tomatoes and Henry never had to leave his wife’s side.
The whole thing looked fine until Barry got stopped and thrown into the past by what he later got to know as his older self.
General Zod was a major villain who came to earth to take over as at the time Barry went back in time.
In his quest, Barry also met with Batman, Supergirl and his self in the past. They all worked with Barry to defeat General Zod in the current dimension. All the attempts to defeat Zod failed.
The only way the whole issue was resolved was when Barry returned the can of tomatoes he had sneaked in his mother’s basket back to its place on the shelf allowing things to run without his interference with nature.
Although, the whole issue got resolve and he went back to his present time, but some things had been altered.
For example, Batman was way older than he left him. The bright side was that his father was later released.
I believe the movie is an attempt to teach patience, allowing nature to run its course rather than forcefully trying to have our way.
I like the creativity in the movie and the scenes are also interesting.
I however disagree with the notion of the movie, because sometimes, one has to go for what they want no matter what is standing in the way because that is how things work in the real world.
I’ll score the movie 8.5 out of 10, it’s a lovely one.
Every film has positive and negative elements, one of the positive things I noticed about this film was the narrative structure of the hero with the villain, like you that ended up pleasantly entertaining me, at first not so much haha because one of the Barrys seemed very heavy as a character but in the end I felt compassion and that no criticism will take it away.
As a film I found it entertaining, a 5 out of 10 and I'm glad to read your happiness as a child about what you saw in the film, in my case if I expected much more than just entertainment, this film has a troubled past that affected him too much and I regret it could not shine our good Flash as I would like, the good thing I see and read there are people who liked it and that is positive and redeemable 😃
So for you the concept that I got from the film was patience, in my case what I got was acceptance, not to fight against what is already done, the mistakes and wrong decisions we have made in life and not only that, also acceptance for the mistakes made by others and that affect us, by accepting what happened we can solve and move forward without the stress of everyday life and society devour us, great score for the film, in my case I would not be given so much haha, I found it entertaining but I have to recognize the failures that are many and egregious, a pity Warner did not know how to value what he had years ago and ended up affecting these productions that should have come out years ago and with more quality than shown in this production ☹️

We all have our perspectives and I feel it's okay to share. If you notice I'm a lover of action-packed movies garnished with fiction, sci-fi, emotion and sometimes shooting and fight scenes.
Your preference may be childish to me just as it is to you. Why you scored the movie a five out of ten is still based on your perspective.
I am tempted to score the movie a 9 out of 10 because you just highlighted another important lesson which is acceptance.
