Intriguing Time Loop World of Room 0 (2024)

The trailer began with a woman in a room receiving a call, she is Alex. The story of Alex is this. Alex discover that her younger sister suffers a rare disease and she needs money to pay for the treatment she needs, as her only family Alex decided to do job to save her sister life. She has to stole a strange device, transport and deliver it to the right person, after she successfully stole the device she entered in a motel and stayed in a room, being there accidentally she activate the device and gets scared and decide to leave the room but when she try, she return to room again, she try again and she return to the room one more time and it happen again and again, making her realized that she is trapped in a time loop, accepting her reality she stays in the room until she received a call from Dr. Galvin, the person who built the device and asked if she needs help he can help her, she accept the help saying that will do anything, she also received another call but his time from a man that threats Alex saying that he wants the device and will move an entire army against her to get it but she just answer that she doesn’t care about that because she has time. The thriller is giving information that the audience will watch a sci-fi movie and that only one person is going to give a fight in these case Alex to achieve her goal that is return with her sister and save her life.

The movie wasn’t premiered at any festival, it is the debut of a full-length film for the indi director Richard Kodai and also will be the debut for part of the cast. The movie release is on March 19th.

The director of Room 0 is Richard Kodai an Hungarian director, Kodai is a director the couldn’t attend to film school because couldn’t afford it but it doesn’t stop him to follow his dream and taking inspiration in the life of directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino that passed for the same, he decided to just make movies with the resources and knowledge he already had. His directorial debut was with the suspense film Jenny’s Book of Twilight in 2012, despite limited resources, he managed to gather a talented cast, demonstrating his ability as a director. Kodai also has worked a producer in shorts such as Poor Sarah 2022, Dorothy’s Birthday 2016 am Zaw 2016. Now with Room 0 he is the writer, producer and director of a sci-fi thriller that want to deliver a story enjoy to watch and talk about it.

Natalya V. Wood take the main lead in the movie ROOM 0, she is an actress, dancer and singer that has participated in the short The Reunion 2020 and now is debuting in her first full-length film. Sean Collins is an American as Frank Trentino (the voice), he is an american actor that appeared in most films take came to Rhode Island in the 70s and 80s such as The Way We Where he also appeared in different TV Series such as Sons of Anarachey, Heroes Destiny and Knight Rider. Victor Jones as Dr. Galvan (the voice), Jones participated in the movie God Where Are You 2014 and in the series Starship Farragut 2007 and now is making his debut in this full-length movie. Kenny Longsdon as Dr. Malinowsky (voice), Longsdon participated in the short Box 2017 and is also debuting with this film in his first full-length movie. This cast is not well known but hey have the opportunity to show their talent and experience.

The story is about a young woman that found that her sister has a rare disease and needs a treatment that is expensive, due to her necessity she accept to do a job, first steal a mysterious device, transport and delivers it. While she is waiting to deliver the devices she accidentally activated it, she gets scare and try to leave the room but when she thought she did it she realized that the time rewinds to when she first enters to the room and it happen again and again, confirming that she his trapped in a time loop making that room her prison. Accepting her reality she also discover that a crime boss is hunting her for the device she possessed. This is a movie with elements of science fiction, mystery and it will keep the audience intrigue to know if Alex was finally able to get out of the loop.

As an indi filmmaker Richard Kodai did face challenges to create Room 0, the first challenge was to obtain a bigger budgets for his production thing that he achieved for this movie but during the process of filming he realized that he has to be very punctual in the correct use of the budget. The situation of the budget forced the imagination of the director about locations and the cast, creating a movie in one room, with one main character and delivering a movie that by now has captivated the audience with its intriguing plot.

Room 0 is a film full of suspense and intrigue and viewing the movie is the only way to know the answer to many questions that audiences probably have but I think that the most important question is if the director Richard Kodai could achieved his goal of deliver a good movie with a good story and performances and with a low cost budget, also knowing that he is the writer, producer and director of the same. Room 0 has many intrigues due to the fact that wasn’t premiered at any festival so what is shown in the trailer is the unique information that people has about the movie and for that reason I do believe that is going to have a good reception for the unknown environment that has been created around this movie.
