In The Age Of Digital Streaming: Movie Theaters?

As I was surfing about some things I got curious of today, I came across a question that didn't just had me thinking but is worthy to create a post about it so I could also read what others have to say about it. The question was... In the age of digital streaming, are movie theaters still relevant?

I could still remember the times we saw movies in monochrome TV, then to color TV and now, we could see movies just anywhere we want to using our mobile devices. In all this, many enjoyed watching movies with crowd or maybe I should say, their close ones in the movie theatre.

With no doubt, it is indeed the age of digital streaming and it is what I see around a lot more than the movie theatres. At some point, I even thought the theatres are just for date meetups, more than the reason it was made available for (show movies) but I know nothing beats that original reason.

Today, we could stay at home and stream whatever movie we want to including the newly released ones so long there has been prior subscription and data is available. There is the no expenses for movement to a theatre or paying a fee to see the movie. I want to believe many were happy with the digital streaming that took over the theatre.

But then, have digital streaming rendered the movie theatres irrelevant today?

It's a weak No from me, the movie theatre encountered an upgrade that took away some of their market target. People still visit the theatres today but many would prefer to stream at home now, especially in my country where not even many visited the theatre before digital streaming.

The one time I experienced being at a movie theatre was at a local one I was invited to. The experience was great especially having so many people around to one movie and we all showed our satisfaction when it ended, it was amazing. So unlike streaming at home and you're left with just what you think about the movie.

I believe the movie theatres could do something about this big change and draw in more of their market target. The age of digital streaming has come to stay and if they do nothing about it, they will become irrelevant gradually and over time.

No denial, there are good difference to streaming online and being at a movie theatre. I don't think the older should lose irrelevancy because of the new since there is a purpose it ws created and there are people who love it for that reason and other reasons they've added.

For me, it's digital streaming all the way but if I get the chance to visit a movie theatre again, I'm definitely jumping on the opportunity without thinking much... Both experiences are different and amazing in their own way.

What about you? What do you think about digital streaming and it's effect on movie theatres today?

With the new age come several innovations that tend to make older ones seem outdated or irrelevant, I think that's what is happening with movie theater, but I still fancy them once in a while though.

Just like you said, I think most people visit movie theaters for dates, and just maybe coz of the feel. I think even with how fast things are changing, they're come things that would never go out of style and that's movie theater. The experience is always unmatched to when you're streaming alone at home.

I also think same, movie theatres won't go out of style.

In my country, not all areas have cinemas. So when the revolution leads to the digital era, this is very good because films will reach everyone as long as they have a smooth internet connection.
