We all know that some careers are in danger from AI and technology. There is a new sushi place in town that has become famous because the waiter is a robot. So like I said before the main careers are those more technical that require less thinking in which a simple script can substitute the human, like supermarket cashiers and waiters, usually careers that only require high school and no other study. Careers that need fewer problem-solving tasks. But which are the careers that require more studies that probably will end?

image.png

At first, I thought about careers that I am already avoiding paying for, like accounting. Right now tax preparation in many countries including Brazil and Canada can be done on your computer. In addition to that, there are software already equipped with AI that can help you go towards each field. I have used a software called Turbo Tax for already 4 years and I don't need to see an accountant anymore. The software guides you through every field; you just need to fill it with the values you know and would need to give to the human accountant anyway. Maybe accountants would need to focus on other fields, but for tax filing, they aren't needed anymore unless you aren't very connected with technology.

Going through the same mentality, visa and permanent resident applications in Canada aren't necessary to hire a immigration consultant anymore. This type of application was done only through paper fillings in the past, but right now the system is online and guided and there are many tutorials online to read in addition to previous experiences that people post on social media, like YouTube. So like accountants, immigration consultants will need to focus only where a human experience in solving problems can help.

But I guess one of the fields that is very famous, at least in Brazil, that for sure will be affected by AI and technology is Human Resources. Right now AI is being used for candidate screening and new employee training. I heard that even the Canadian Government is using AI and other software to screen out candidates for opening positions. The candidate sends the CV and answers a questionary associated with the position and the software just sends to the trash all the candidates that didn't achieve the expected qualification. That works well if there are multiple applications for a position and it is quicker and less expensive comparing using a HR employee. Similarly, radiology is also being automatized and there are many tools to make reports of images, that way speeds up a lot the analysis of multiple images during the day. However in both cases an HR employee and a Radiologist will be still needed for second opinions, so even if not needed to hire an employee with these classifications, probably the employer will hire them paying per hour. But with AI getting better and better, soon that will be reduced as well.

The technology is evolving while I am writing this text and people will need to start focusing on tasks that AI will take a hard time to substitute us, especially those dealing with problem-solving. Medical professionals, research scientists, engineers and market strategy specialists are examples. Maybe it is something to guide our kids when they are choosing their career, despite making them choose the career that is getting more money at the moment, help them go into careers that AI will take a long time to replace.

Hello sir yeah u are right ai will take long time to replace but ppl should ready to face it from now onwards.

avatar

I see many people doing other courses because of the lack of availability of openings. That will be a normal situation.

avatar

AI is all the craze right now. And the pace at which this technology is advancing, is staggering. Our current system isn't equipped to deal with this wave. We should integrate more AI to learn AI. To at least stay relevant in the tech space. Spot on analysis.

avatar

There are already good courses about AI usage in many different areas! You can try it, some of them are free

avatar

Imagine losing your job to a robot 💀,
Technology is taking over and so many things are starting to become so irrelevant these days. One just have to be smart when choosing a career path

avatar

It is a hard part of our lives choosing the career xD at least for me was tough!

avatar

Everyone needs to get involved in task and activities that artificial intelligence and robots will find difficult to handle.

avatar

Maybe it is something to guide our kids when they are choosing their career, despite making them choose the career

But what can you still choose to study?
I recently saw an interview of a student that finished the study for translator. During her study AI made a boost and almost made her diploma worthless.

avatar

Man, that is what we call bad luck. I can imagine how hard this student spent years studying. Being a translator nowadays should be very hard... Well, I had a part-time job as a research market analyst, we analyzed audios and transcripts of health industry interviews with doctors and get the pin points that the costumer wanted to know. Now with AI tools that job has become obsolete hehehe I haven't received any new project for months now!

avatar

People better start to study how they can use AI, so they have an advantage on the people that don't.
For now it will not be AI that takes over your job, but the people who know how to use it.

avatar

Yes, in sciences is a heated area. I have been seeing at least half of the works using AI models to classify data for the last 7 years hehehe

avatar

Success! @gwajnberg(4/1) You mined .9 HBIT and the user you replied to received .1 HBIT on your behalf. You can receive 100% of the HBIT by replying to one of your own posts or comments. When you mine HBIT, you're also playing the Wusang: Isle of Blaq game. 🏴‍☠️ | tools | wallet | discord | community | daily <><

What's more, you found a BLAQ pearl (BLAQ) as a bonus treasure token!

There is a treasure chest of bitcoin sats hidden in Wusang: Isle of Blaq. Happy treasure hunting! 😃

You can see your random number generated in the Discord server, #hbit-wusang-log channel. Check for bonus treasure tokens by entering your username at a block explorer explorer A, explorer B, or take a look at your wallet. Read about Hivebits (HBIT) or read the story of Wusang: Isle of Blaq.

avatar

AI will change how the future looks like!

So AI will most likely end the freelance career of writers as well? That's quite saddening because I want to get that career in the future. Now I'm having second thoughts.

avatar

Unless you are doing some investigative writing … nowadays you can even create poems with AI
Hehehe

avatar

rather than learning how women think and behave, maybe I should get some AI girlfriends too

avatar

It takes a fool to trust government approved AI to file one's taxes, unless of course you don't pay much tax.

avatar

Well usually my tax cuts my salary before coming to my bank account 🤣

avatar

The CRA is doing more automated filing for simple cases, such as those who are low income, unemployed, only salaried, etc. One can accept or challenge their assessment, it's generally not complicated and unless you have write-offs they wouldn't know about or they made a glaring mistake, it's a waste of time.

For people with multiple income streams, high incomes, businesses and for those who did anything complicated such as moving for work, having a good accountant can net you thousands of dollars. Tax planning and optimization is particularly important for people as they approach retirement, it can save the odd wealthy person millions, no joke.

avatar

It's a trend that has no return and I would like to be served by a robot. The experience would undoubtedly be very interesting.

I also agree that we will need to adapt.
