The last Czars/ Review [ENG-SPA]
Knowing the history or versions of this, is something I like, especially when it comes to documentaries, some world events gave way to events that not only affected their nations, also the rest of the world, so when I saw on Netflix a docudrama about the last Russian imperial family I did not resist to watch it, the truth I thought it would be more documentary than drama, but after starting to watch it I was hooked.
The Last Tsars
As I already pointed out, this is not just a series or drama, it is a documentary, in which in addition to the dramatization of the facts, we can hear and see the opinion of expert historians and other experts as to what happened to the last Russian imperial family.
For those who do not know, which I think will be few, remember that the Romanov dynasty ruled Russia for three centuries, from the seventeenth century to the early twentieth century, this docudrama, is narrated in part by who was the teacher of the children of Tsar Nicholas Romanov and his wife Alexandra, the story begins when this man is called to a hospital to identify a young woman who claims to be the Grand Duchess Anastasia.
From "The Last Tsars" I must highlight that it gives us a tour from the death of the father of Nicholas II, a few days before his wedding, until the death of the imperial family, and also takes us to see the investigations that were conducted around the young woman who claimed to be Anastasia.
I do not know if it is because I love these documentaries, since they allow us to see history in a more graphic way, but I enjoyed each of its six chapters, in which they narrate each of the causes that led to the social outbreak, which finally led to the February Revolution, and so you understand why the events occurred and you even get angry with the actions of some of its protagonists.
For its part, the docudrama's censorship clearly points out 18+, since we can see quite graphic scenes and yes, although it is basically history, it is something that if a child or teenager will be allowed to see, a responsible representative must be present to guide and explain how many times excesses, ignoring or ignoring the needs of others or abusing power, can cause a revolt or hatred towards those who hold power.
In "The Last Tsars", the actors give life to each of the people who surrounded and were part of the Imperial family and also the historians highlight the character and origins of each of those involved and how their actions gave way to the anger and despair of the Russian people.
For example, for the coronation of Nicholas II there was neither the organization, nor the quantity of adequate food, which ended in a massacre, since many people were trampled, that fact, among others, led to the Czar being called Nicholas the Bloody, The influence of his paternal uncle in his first years of reign was determinant and then followed by others that did not lead him to take the worst decisions that caused the definitive political, social, economic and even military decline that would finally lead to the revolution that ended with the Russian monarchy and later executed the Royal family.
Now, I liked this docudrama, as I already mentioned that they not only walk us through the facts but also describe each of the characters and their character and how they influenced the affairs of state, besides showing us that undoubtedly both Czar Nicholas II and Czarina Alexandra, lived in a bubble, they had no idea of the needs of their people, of the mistakes made, such as not granting them a government like the one in England in which the monarchy understood that a change was necessary, allowing a parliament and a prime minister, and when they were ready to give it it was already late.
On the other hand, as for the drama the scenography is fabulous, there are many outdoor scenes, the costumes are great and we are introduced through atmosphere and description by the experts in the historical moment to take us to what was lived during the years of the reign of Nicholas II. It is inevitable to mention that one of the protagonists was undoubtedly Rasputin, who was a man of excesses and scandals, who had a very strong influence on the Czarina, who was desperate to save her son and she in turn pressured her husband, leading all this, along with other actions or lack thereof, to the last moments of the Russian monarchy and the arrival of communism in Russia.
Finished, if you like history and historical dramas, this docudrama is for you, I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I do, if you have already seen it or not, I invite you to share with me your impressions.
Conocer la historia o las versiones de esta, es algo que me gusta, sobre todo cuando se trata de documentales, algunos acontecimientos mundiales dieron paso a sucesos que no solo afectaron a sus naciones, también al resto del mundo, así cuando vi en Netflix un docudrama sobre la última familia imperial Rusa no me resistí a verlo, la verdad creí que sería más documental que drama, pero tras comenzar a verlo me enganche.
Los Últimos Zares
Como ya señale, esta no es solo una serie o drama, es un documental, en el cual además de la dramatización de los hechos, podemos escuchar y ver la opinión de expertos historiadores y otros expertos en cuanto lo que ocurrió con la última familia imperial Rusa.
Para los que no lo sepan, que creo serán pocos, recordemos que la dinastía Románov gobernó Rusia durante tres siglos, desde el siglo XVII hasta principios del siglo XX, este docudrama, está narrado en parte por quien fuera el profesor de los hijos del Zar Nicolás Románov y su esposa Alejandra, la historia comienza cuando este hombre es llamado a un hospital para identificar a una joven que asegura ser la Gran Duquesa Anastasia.
De “Los últimos Zares” debo destacar que nos da un recorrido desde la muerte del padre de Nicolás II, unos días antes de su boda, hasta la muerte de la familia imperial, y nos lleva también a ver las investigaciones que se realizaron en torno a la joven que decía ser Anastasia.
No sé si deba a que amo estos documentales, ya que permiten ver la historia de una manera más gráfica, pero disfrute de cada uno de sus seis capítulos, en los que nos van narrando cada una de las causas que fueron llevando al estallido social, que finalmente condujo a la Revolución de Febrero y así comprendes por qué ocurrieron los hechos y llegas hasta a enojarte con las acciones de algunos de sus protagonistas.
Por su parte, la censura del docudrama señala claramente 18+, ya que podemos ver escenas bastante gráficas y si, aunque es básicamente historia, es algo que si se le permitirá ver a un niño o adolescente, un representante responsable debe estar presente para guiar y explicar cómo muchas veces los excesos, el desconocer o ignorar las necesidades de los otros o abusar del poder, pueden ocasionar una revuelta o el odio hacia los que ostentan el poder.
En “Los últimos Zares”, los actores dan vida a cada una de las personas que rodearon y formaron parte de la familia Imperial y también los historiadores van resaltando el carácter y orígenes de cada uno de los involucrados y como sus acciones fueron dando paso al enojo y desesperación del pueblo Ruso.
Por ejemplo, para la coronación de Nicolás II no hubo ni la organización, ni la cantidad de comida adecuada, lo que termino en una masacre, pues muchas personas fueron pisoteadas, ese hecho, entre otros, llevaron a que al Zar se le llamara Nicolás el Sanguinario, la influencia de su tío paterno en sus primeros años de reino fue determinante y luego le siguieron otros que no lo llevaron a tomar las peores decisiones que causaron el definitivo declive político, social, económico y hasta militar que finalmente llevaría a la revolución que acabo con la monarquía Rusa y posteriormente ejecuto a la familia Real.
Ahora bien, de este docudrama me gusto, como ya mencione que nos van paseando no solo por los hechos también nos describen a cada uno de los personajes su carácter y como influían en los asuntos de Estado, además de mostrarnos que sin lugar a dudas tanto el Zar Nicolás II como la Zarina Alejandra, vivían en una burbuja, no tenían idea de las necesidades de su pueblo, de los desaciertos cometidos, como el no concederles un gobierno como el de Inglaterra en el que la monarquía comprendió que un cambio era necesario, permitiendo un parlamento y un primer ministro, y cuando estuvieron dispuestos a darlo ya era tarde.
Por otro lado, en cuanto al drama la escenografía es fabulosa, hay muchas escenas al aire libre, el vestuario es grandioso y nos introducen por medio de ambiente y de descripción por parte de los expertos en el momento histórico para llevarnos a lo que se vivió durante los años del reinado de Nicolás II. Es inevitable mencionar que uno de los protagonistas sin duda alguna fue Rasputín, quien era un hombre de excesos y escándalos, quien influyo de manera muy fuerte en la Zarina, la cual estaba desesperada por salvar a su hijo y ella su vez presionaba a su esposo, llevando todo esto, junto a otras acciones o la ausencia de las mismas, a los últimos momentos de la monarquía Rusa y la llegada del comunismo a Rusia.
