Review Inside Out 2 (spa/eng)

Una de mis películas favoritas de Pixar es Intensamente o Inside Out, es de esas historias que logran hacer conectar con los personajes muy fácilmente y hace que nos interese nos rápidamente en todo lo que pasa en cada escena. Estrenada en el 2015 se volvió una de las mejores cintas animadas del estudio, era obvio que eventualmente producirían una secuela, y aunque como a muchos me preocupaba que no cumpliera con las expectativas al estrenarse casi una década después de la primera, sin dudas supo aprovechar todo el potencial que la trama ofrece.

Está continuación logra sacarnos varias risas y también nos trae varios momentos emotivos. En esta ocasión vemos a Riley llegando a la pubertad y ahora sus emociones son mucho más complejas, ya no solo tenemos a Alegría, Tristeza, Temor, Furia y Desagrado, ahora también se agregan Ansiedad, Envidia, Vergüenza y Ennui (ella representa al aburrimiento y agrega bastante personalidad adolescente a la trama).

Esta película puede ser muy profunda, explorando conceptos psicológicos y cómo funciona nuestro mundo interior sin forzar nada. Al mismo tiempo logran que sea una historia simple permitiendo que la puedan disfrutar espectadores de todas las edades.

Cómo ya dije está continuación está a la altura de la primera, la manera en que logran explorar aún más el tema de las emociones y cómo influye en las decisiones que tomamos es el fuerte de esta cinta.

No tiene nada que envidiar a la primera parte, todos los chistes, el humor, momentos serios y lo que representan las emociones al interactuar con Riley es muy bien llevado en los noventa minutos de la película. Una excelente secuela a diferencia de otras que arruinan lo establecido en la original, haciéndonos decir “no era mejor no hacer la secuela?”.

Podríamos decir que Intensamente podría lograr lo que hizo Toy Story en su momento, no solo porque tiene potencial para una tercera parte, sino que podemos seguir viendo como Riley va creciendo y lidiando con situaciones más complejas a medida que continúa creciendo, ver qué decisiones toma, acompañado de una buena historia para contar.

Si hay algo de sobra en la adolescencia son emociones, y es algo que está producción entiende perfectamente. Este tipo de momentos los hemos visto en otras series y cintas animadas, todo condensado en un fin de semana de una niña que debe lidiar con mucho, logra tener mucha profundidad y vemos como las emociones buscan las mejores elecciones para cada situación.

Es increíble como una cinta principalmente para niños logra abordar temas tan serios, ya que desde los 5 hasta los 90 años las personas lidian con sus emociones a su manera. El crecimiento, la juventud, cometer errores es un tema demasiado amplio, y el que logren que fans de diferentes edades se interesen por igual es algo muy complicado de lograr.

La estructura de la película es muy simple, un primer acto que te muestra de que va a ir el conflicto principal, un segundo acto donde las cosas empeoran y el tercero donde se soluciona. Cómo dije es una forma sencilla de contar una historia pero que funciona si se usa bien.

Intensamente 2 hace reír, llorar y da para muchas historias, siempre que se apeguen a la esencia que la caracteriza.

One of my favorite Pixar movies is Intensamente or Inside Out, it is one of those stories that manage to connect with the characters very easily and makes us quickly interested in everything that happens in each scene. Released in 2015 it became one of the best animated films of the studio, it was obvious that eventually they would produce a sequel, and although like many I was worried that it would not meet the expectations by being released almost a decade after the first one, it certainly knew how to take advantage of all the potential that the plot offers.

This sequel manages to get several laughs out of us and also brings us several emotional moments. This time we see Riley reaching puberty and now her emotions are much more complex, we no longer only have Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust, now we also have Anxiety, Envy, Shame and Ennui (she represents boredom and adds a lot of adolescent personality to the plot).

This movie can be very deep, exploring psychological concepts and how our inner world works without forcing anything. At the same time they manage to keep the story simple, allowing viewers of all ages to enjoy it.

As I said, this sequel lives up to the first one, the way they manage to explore even more the theme of emotions and how it influences the decisions we make is the strength of this film.

It has nothing to envy to the first part, all the jokes, humor, serious moments and what emotions represent when interacting with Riley is very well carried in the ninety minutes of the film. An excellent sequel unlike others that ruin what was established in the original, making us say “wasn't it better not to make the sequel?”.

We could say that Intensely could achieve what Toy Story did in its time, not only because it has potential for a third part, but we can continue to see how Riley is growing and dealing with more complex situations as she continues to grow, see what decisions she makes, accompanied by a good story to tell.

If there is something to be found in adolescence, it is emotions, and this is something that this production understands perfectly. We have seen this kind of moments in other series and animated films, all condensed into a weekend of a girl who must deal with a lot, manages to have a lot of depth and we see how emotions look for the best choices for each situation.

It is amazing how a film mainly for children manages to address such serious issues, since from 5 to 90 years old people deal with their emotions in their own way. Growing up, youth, making mistakes is a very broad topic, and getting fans of different ages to be equally interested is something very difficult to achieve.

The structure of the movie is very simple, a first act that shows you what the main conflict is going to be about, a second act where things get worse and the third act where it is solved. As I said it is a simple way to tell a story but it works if used well.

Inside Out 2 makes you laugh, cry and gives for many stories, as long as they stick to the essence that characterizes it.
