Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga - I don't think it's that bad [ENG-ESP]

Mad Max: Fury Road was one of the best movies released in 2015, it was the return of one of the best post-apocalyptic sagas of cinema and brought with it a new way of telling the story of the Max, a "hero" who doesn't talk much but knows how to get things done. Mad Max was played in the first three movies by Mel Gibson, the last movie of this "first trilogy" was released in the year 1985 and its "continuation"; since I'm not sure if the most recent version is a sequel of the old ones or not, came out in 2015, brought with you a change of actor to play Max, which would be Tom Hardy, doing a spectacular job, playing a survivor full of past traumas and although this character hardly spoke during the whole movie, he was still a pretty interesting character to watch. However, many will agree with me in affirming that the character that stands out the most in this 2015 film is the character played by Charlize Theron, a very brave, strong, determined character, whose life by fate joins Max's and makes one of the most interesting duos in cinema.

Mad Max: Fury Road was a success, both critically and at the box office, so many of us were waiting for a sequel to this story or at best a prequel to the character of Furiosa, we wanted to know her origin, what led her to be where Max knows her, how she lost her arm, all these aspects were quite interesting to know and after several years, exactly 9 years later they made a movie where they tell us the origin of this character, but things did not go as well as expected. And is that personally one of the aspects for which Furiosa: Mad Max Saga did not do so well is that it is a prequel that took too long to come out, nine years is too long and people really lost interest in a character that at the time was one of the best of his year, another "negative" point, to put it somewhat, although I do not consider that it is so at all, is that because this film is a prequel the character of Furiosa is not played by Charlize Theron, but by Anya Taylor-Joy, which is not something that I did not dislike, because it is understood that being a prequel a much younger character was needed, although I have to admit that the resemblance between these two actresses is almost null, also if compared to the girl version of Furiosa, which appears for almost 40 minutes at the beginning of this film, the differences between these three actresses is even more noticeable, although in the end it is not so relevant because I consider that Anya Taylor-Joy did a good job of interpretation.

Another aspect why I consider that this film did not do so well is that if we compare it visually with Mad Max: Fury Road, this prequel is far behind in score and Mad Max: Fury Road brought with it one of the best visual aspects of the cinema of 2015, it was really something quite impressive to see on the big screen, plus there was much use of real aspects, which in this sequel there is also, but it is quite noticeable when they make use of CGI. Another aspect is that the action in Furiosa is not as fun, impressive and visually stunning as Fury Road, and although there are some very good moments, I think it lacked much more and better facts. Some characters seen in Fury Road return and although most of them don't play a very important role in the story of this prequel, it's interesting to see certain aspects of the past of those characters, even Max himself makes a small cameo at a certain point, something that I didn't expect and surprised me, even if it was something quite small. I really don't think this movie is bad, I personally was entertained even though its duration was much longer than necessary and Anya Taylor-Joy doesn't appear in the movie until more than 40 minutes after it started, because Furiosa takes the time to show us a very childish Furiosa and that part of the movie was very exaggerated its duration, also in certain moments, exactly at the end we can see Charlize Theron playing Furiosa and we are also shown how she lost her arm, which was quite interesting.

Mad Max: Fury Road fue una de las mejores películas que se estrenaron en el 2015, fue el regreso de una de las mejores sagas post-apocalípticas del cine y trajo consigo una nueva forma de contar la historia del Max, un “héroe” que no habla mucho pero sabe cómo hacer las cosas. Mad Max fue interpretado en las tres primeras películas por Mel Gibson, la última película de esta “primera trilogía” fue lanzada en el año 1985 y su “continuación”; ya que no estoy seguro si la version más reciente es una secuela de las antiguas o no, salió en el 2015, trajo contigo un cambio de actor para interpretar a Max, el cual sería Tom Hardy, realizando un trabajo espectacular, al interpretar a un sobreviviente lleno de traumas del pasado y aunque este personaje casi no habló durante toda la película, aun así fue un personaje bastante interesante de ver. Sin embargo, muchos estarán de acuerdo conmigo en afirmar que el personaje que más destaco en esta película del 2015 es el personaje interpretado por Charlize Theron, un personaje bastante valiente, fuerte, decidido, cuya vidas por cosas del destino se une a la de Max y hacen uno de los dúos más interesantes del cine.

Mad Max: Fury Road fue un existo, tanto en critica como en taquilla, por lo que muchos estábamos esperando alguna secuela de esta historia o como mucho una precuela del personaje de Furiosa, queríamos saber su origen, que la llevo a estar donde la conoce Max, como perdió su brazo, todos esos aspectos eran bastante interesantes de saber y luego de varios años, exactamente, 9 años después hicieron una película donde nos cuentan el origen de este personaje, pero las cosas no salieron tan bien como se esperaba. Y es que personal mente uno de los aspectos por el cual a Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga no le fue tan bien es que es una precuela que tardo demasiado en salir, nueve años es demasiado y realmente la gente perdió el interes en un personaje que en su momento fue de los mejores de su año, otro punto “negativo”, por decirlo de algo modo, aunque yo no considero que asi lo sea del todo, es que debido a que esta película es una precuela el personaje de Furiosa no es interpretado por Charlize Theron, sino por Anya Taylor-Joy, lo cual no es algo que a mí no me haya desagradado, porque se entiende que al ser una precuela se necesitaba a un personaje mucho más joven, aunque tengo que admitir que el parecido entre estas dos actrices es casi nulo, además si se compara con la version de niña de Furiosa, la cual aparece durante casi 40 minutos al inicio de esta película, se nota aún más las diferencias entre estas tres actrices, aunque al final no es tan relevante porque considero que Anya Taylor-Joy hizo un buen trabajo de interpretación.

Otros de los aspectos por el cual considero que esta película no le fue tan bien es que si lo comparamos visualmente con Mad Max: Fury Road, esta precuela queda bastante por detrás en puntaje y es que Mad Max: Fury Road trajo consigo uno de los mejores aspectos visuales del cine del 2015, fue realmente algo bastante impresionante de ver en la pantalla grande, además de que hubo mucho uso de aspectos reales, cosa que en esta secuela tambien lo hay, pero se nota bastante cuando hacen uso del CGI. Otro aspecto es que la acción en Furiosa no es tan divertida, impresionante y visualmente sorprendente como Fury Road, y aunque si hay momentos muy buenos, creo que le faltaron mucho más y mejores hechos. Vuelven algunos personajes vistos en Fury Road y aunque la mayoría no cumplen un rol muy importante en la historia de esta precuela, es interesante ver ciertos aspectos del pasado de dichos personajes, incluso el propio Max hace un pequeño cameo en cierto momento, algo que no esperaba y me sorprendió, aunque haya sido algo bastante pequeño. Realmente no creo que esta película sea mala, a mí personalmente me entretuvo aunque su duración haya sido mucho más de lo necesario y es que Anya Taylor-Joy no aparece en la película hasta más de 40 minutos después de haber empezado, debido a que Furiosa se toma el tiempo de mostrarnos a una Furiosa muy niña y esa parte de la película fue muy exagerada su duración, también en ciertos momentos, exactamente al final podremos ver a Charlize Theron interpretando a Furiosa y también nos muestran como perdió su brazo, lo cual fue bastante interesante.
