Welcome my dear traveling internet diners and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, suspense films are one of the most complex to develop because they deserve to generate an agreed setting that adapts to the needs of the film, it is for This is why the film "The Menu" sounded like an interesting proposal to develop this genre focusing on the culinary world. Without further ado, get ready to taste unusual dishes as we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos comensales viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, los filmes de suspenso son de los más complejos de desarrollar debido a que ameritan generar una ambientación acordé que se adapte a las necesidades del filme, es por ello que el filme "The Menu" sonaba como una propuesta interesante por desarrollar este genero centrandose en el mundo culinario. Sin más que agregar prepárense para degustar platillos inusuales pues estamos por comenzar.
The Menu was released in 2022, directed by Mark Mylod, it was produced by Hyperobject Industries and TSG Entertainment, it has a duration of 1 hour and 47 minutes. It is a horror and suspense story, it focuses on Tyler and Margot, a young couple who decide to go on a cruise to an island to enjoy the food prepared by a world-renowned chef, however this food will become one that they cannot forget for the wrong reasons.
The Menu fue estrenada en 2022, dirigida por Mark Mylod, fue producida por Hyperobject Industries y TSG Entertainment, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 47 minutos. Es una historia de terror y suspenso, se enfoca a Tyler y Margot una joven pareja que decide ir en un crucero a una isla para disfrutar de la comida preparada por un chef de reconocimiento mundial, sin embargo esta comida se convertirá en una que no podrán olvidar por las razones equivocadas.

The soundtrack is fine, it finds a hole within the tape so that it feels consistent and pleasant.
La banda sonora está bien, encuentra un hueco dentro de la cinta como para que se sienta acorde y agradable.
The construction of the world results in something simple but successful, since the events take place mostly in the same setting, rarely being a different context presented, except on rare occasions the setting does not really have something that stands out, being a quite common scenario and having almost zero participation.
La construcción de mundo resulta en algo simple pero acertado, puesto que los eventos se desarrollan mayormente en un mismo escenario siendo pocas las veces en las que se presenta un contexto diferente, salvo en contadas ocasiones la ambientación no tiene realmente algo que la destaque siendo un escenario bastante común y teniendo una participación casi nula.
In the plot is where the bulk of the film is found, right off the bat I have to mention the way in which the narrative progressively evolves, being that it is perceived so normal at the beginning that it even makes the viewer doubt if it really is a suspense film. However, it manages to build uncertainty and bewilderment in an excellent way. To a certain extent, the film makes a social criticism of how people simply because of status refuse to say what they really think or believe they are more important than the rest because of what they are or what they were, although it is not the message deepest in the world is interesting. Apart from the confusion and the message that the film communicates, it has nothing more to offer, after the cake is discovered it only begins to circle and lengthen its plot without anything really interesting happening, fortunately the film does not last too long for this to be a more serious error.
En la trama es en donde se encuentra el grueso del filme, de buenas a primeras he de mencionar la forma en como va evolucionando progresivamente la narrativa siendo que se percibe tan normal al inicio que incluso hace dudar al espectador si realmente es un filme de suspenso, sin embargo logra ir construyendo de forma excelente la incertidumbre y el desconcierto. Hasta cierto punto el filme hace una crítica social con respecto a cómo las personas simplemente por estatus se niegan a decir lo que realmente piensan o se creen más importantes que el resto por lo que son o por lo que fueron, si bien no es el mensaje más profundo del mundo es interesante. Fuera del desconcierto y del mensaje que comunica el filme no tiene más que ofrecer, luego de que se descubre el pastel solo comienza a dar círculos y a alargar su trama sin que suceda algo realmente interesante, afortunadamente la cinta no dura demasiado como para que esto sea un error más grave.
This is another interesting point in the film, not because of the fact that it has highly complex characters, but because of what they represent; On one side are the pretentious rich and status people who despite all their money and prestige are mostly a bunch of pretentious morons with many problems and flaws who decide to sweep them under the rug, on the other are the cooks and so on, these are an empty shell that only stand out for performing all the tasks entrusted to them as if they were a hive mentality or some kind of sect. This is why the protagonist stands out so much because she turns out to be someone who does not fit into either of the two and who thinks that both extremes have problems, this being the reason why they see her as a weirdo, standing out for being that turning point. who does not opt for not wearing the shirt of any team.
Este es otro punto interesante de la cinta, no por el hecho de que tenga personajes altamente complejos sino por lo que representan estos; Por un lado están los ricos pretenciosos y gente de estatus los cuales pese a todo su dinero y prestigio son en su mayoría un grupo de imbéciles pretenciosos con muchos problemas y defectos que deciden barrerlos bajo la alfombra, por el otro, están los cocineros y demás, estos son un cascarón vacío que solo destacan por realizar todas las tareas que se le encomiendan como si de una mentalidad de colmena o de algún tipo de secta se tratase. Es por esto que la protagonista destaca tanto debido a que resulta alguien que no encaja en ninguno de los dos y que opina que ambos extremos tienen problemas siendo esta la razón por la que la ven como un bicho raro, destacando por ser ese punto de inflexión que se decanta por no ponerse la camisa de ningún equipo.
The Menu has several interesting points that make it a suspense film that is well developed and is pleasant because it maintains a progressive rhythm that gives it a certain organic touch, in turn, it has some philosophical concepts that, although they are not the most complexes of the world give a certain intellectual degree to the tape, which is appreciated. It is for all of the above that it deserves 3.5 stars out of 7, it is an interesting idea that is executed in a good way so that it can expose everything it needs, something entertaining that has its good moments of suspense that make it stand out slightly from the crowd.
The Menu tiene varios puntos interesantes que la hacen un filme de suspenso que se encuentra bien desarrollado y es agradable debido a que mantienen un ritmo progresivo que le da cierto toque orgánico, a su vez, tiene algunos conceptos filosóficos que si bien no son los más complejos del mundo le dan cierto grado intelectual a la cinta, lo que se aprecia. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, es una idea interesante que es ejecutada de buena forma como para que pueda exponer todo lo que necesita, algo entretenido que tiene sus buenos momentos de suspenso que la hacen destacar levemente del montón.

Es curioso hacer un filme de suspenso relacionado con la comida. La sensación de comer está relacionada con la recompensa, la relajación o el placer.
Por eso el viejo truco de masticar chicles cuando se está nervioso.
Es un enfoque bastante interesante.
