Review of Justice League: Warworld movie .
I've seen more or less of the Justice League animated movies. But one of the problems with this DC animated universe is that they keep presenting the same style of movies over and over again. Although the story of the film is a little different in the beginning, the whole team becomes one in the end. And we watch these movies over and over to watch these team members fight together. But the 2023 release Justice League: Warworld is a bit different for me.
Justice League: Warworld throws our heroes for a loop where, unlike the usual team-up flick, we see Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman in separate worlds. Superman is trapped in a 1950s sci-fi B-movie as Agent Kent. Wonder Woman is a gladiator on the brutal planet and Batman is a barbarian warrior. You won't see as many alien fights here as in other Justice League movies. Yes there are still aliens but it's towards the end. But here you will not see three superheroes playing their superhero roles. You might even get to see them in that superhero outfit for the last time. Even they are shown here as ordinary people.
Each hero faces unique trials and tribulations in Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman-Warworld. The planet's harsh conditions force them to adapt, revealing different sides of their character.
Some things are interesting here. Warworld is a departure from the traditional Justice League formula. It is part of the DC Animated Movie Universe. Each hero's isolated story connects to a larger plot - Warworld, a monstrous factory planet that enslaves entire civilizations.
Yes, we know that every movie in the DC Universe is connected to each other. This movie is no different. Parts of this movie are featured in the movie Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths. I saw this movie a few days ago but before that I saw two parts of Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths release so I got the hang of it. The film cleverly uses separate narratives to explore different sides of the heroes. Superman fights for truth and justice in a fantastical setting, Wonder Woman rediscovers her fighting spirit and Batman's resourcefulness shines in a barbaric world.
The movie is not without flaws. The stories here are disjointed which slows it down and draws it in. And while everyone comes together on that last one, the voice acting remains great, especially Wonder Woman and John DiMaggio's Lobo, the animation is generally solid, with Warworld's action sequences a particular highlight.
Justice League: Warworld is a bold experiment that, while not perfect, delivers a unique Justice League story with interesting world-building and character exploration. I found the movie average. Have you seen the movie Justice League: Warworld ? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below
Sounds like a different approach to what we're used to in the Justice League movies. I think it's great that they decided to explore more of the individual development of the main characters in such different environments than the typical superhero team-up. Good review! 👍
Yes, I agree this had a different style. I can’t say I quite enjoyed it. I think I prefer the mainstream take on these superhero movies
Keep up the good work. 👏🎵
