[ESP/ENG] Film Review: A Ghost Story | Time and nostalgia between death and lived memories.

Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero se encuentren comenzando bien este nuevo mes y que traiga para todos bendiciones y prosperidad 🧡. Hace unos días encontré una película que llevaba años queriendo ver pero que no tenía la oportunidad o no encontraba la forma de hacerlo, está película se llama A Ghost Story dirigida por David Lowery y fue estrenada en el 2017 con los actores Casey Affleck y Rooney Mara como protagonistas.

Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are starting this new month well and that it brings blessings and prosperity to all 🧡. A few days ago I found a movie that I had been wanting to watch for years but didn't have the opportunity or couldn't find the way to do it, this movie is called A Ghost Story directed by David Lowery and was released in 2017 with actors Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara as the main characters.

A Ghost Story nos cuenta la historia de una joven pareja recién mudada a un nuevo vecindario, mientras pasan sus días disfrutando de su nuevo hogar y de poder estar juntos como pareja aunque para "M" (Rooney Mara) el lugar le parece extraño y siente que deberían estar en otro sitio, pero "C" (Casey Affleck) la incentiva a quedarse en el lugar ya que el es un músico y en la nueva casa encuentran que algún antiguo propietario dejo en el abandono un piano, lo que le hace sentir que es el lugar indicado donde ambos deberían vivir.

A Ghost Story tells the story of a young couple who have just moved to a new neighborhood, as they spend their days enjoying their new home and being together as a couple, although "M" (Rooney Mara) finds the place strange and feels that they should be somewhere else, but "C" (Casey Affleck) encourages her to stay in the place since he is a musician and in the new house they find that a piano was abandoned by a former owner, which makes her feel that it is the right place where they should both live.

Todo va muy bien entre ellos y su relación aunque un día ocurre un incidente con la casa, más específicamente con el piano que suena sin ninguna razón aparente por lo que da este aura de misterio y terror que luego se empaña con un terrible accidente que sufre "C" y que además le arrebata la vida, dejando a su pareja "M" con un gran vacío y muchas emociones encontradas en medio de una situación que no logra entender, cómo él podría morir de una forma tan inesperada y además siendo tan joven... Pero son cosas que suceden.

Everything is going very well between them and their relationship although one day an incident occurs with the house, more specifically with the piano that sounds for no apparent reason so it gives this aura of mystery and terror that is then tarnished with a terrible accident that suffers "C" and also takes his life, leaving his partner "M" with a great emptiness and many mixed emotions in the middle of a situation that fails to understand, how he could die in such an unexpected way and also being so young ... But these are things that happen.

Más allá de entrar en detalles sobre como siguió la historia y para entender un poco el nombre de la película podemos ver qué después de la muerte de "C" el reaparece en la casa en forma de fantasma con una sabana blanca y dos agujeros en la mirada que lo hacen verse como un fantasma de las películas de terror, sin embargo el no está allí de nuevo para generar algún miedo o terror: él reaparece porque no entiende lo sucedido con su muerte y cómo es posible que su mujer pueda tener una vida sin él.

Beyond going into details about how the story continued and to understand a little the name of the film we can see that after the death of "C" he reappears in the house as a ghost with a white sheet and two holes in his eyes that make him look like a ghost from horror movies, however he is not there again to generate some fear or terror: he reappears because he does not understand what happened with his death and how it is possible that his wife can have a life without him.

La grabación de la película me pareció de una forma muy íntima donde puedes sentirte dentro de la historia sin estar allí, es cómo si cada uno de nosotros los que hemos perdido a alguien que amabamos estuviéramos en el papel de la persona que tiene que procesar el duelo y todo lo que esto implica, esto en la película es un tema que se deja ver a profundidad y que resonó más conmigo cuando la vi, siento que todos pueden darle un significado diferente pero a mí me dejó ese pensamiento.

The filming of the movie seemed to me in a very intimate way where you can feel inside the story without being there, it is as if each of us who have lost someone we loved were in the role of the person who has to process the grief and all that this implies, this in the film is a theme that is seen in depth and that resonated more with me when I saw it, I feel that everyone can give it a different meaning but I left me with that thought.

Las actuaciones más importantes son las de Casey Affleck y la de Rooney Mara, pero Casey básicamente no sale más que en el comienzo de la película y al final de ella por lo que el resto de da a entender que él es el fantasma. Y en cuanto a Rooney Mara siento que se llevó la mayor responsabilidad de llevar esta historia que puede resultar sutil y sencilla cuando la ves pero que es más profunda de lo que uno pueda pensar, ella hace un papel excelente como la persona que pierde a alguien y que debe continuar con su vida a pesar del dolor.

The most important performances are Casey Affleck's and Rooney Mara's, but Casey is basically only in the beginning of the movie and at the end of it so the rest of the movie implies that he is the ghost. And as for Rooney Mara I feel she took the most responsibility for carrying this story that may seem subtle and simple when you see it but it is deeper than you might think, she does an excellent role as the person who loses someone and must go on with her life despite the pain.

La historia es bastante silenciosa, no hay muchos diálogos pero si hay cambios en las escenas sobre todo del tiempo y como este va pasando viendo que mientras el fantasma sigue en esas paredes de su antiguo hogar y que trata de procesar que la vida continuó sin él, mientras ve que las cosas van cambiando siente que de alguna manera debería irse pero no sabe cómo hacerlo porque tiene la sensación de que debería estar junto a "M" y no la puede dejar en el pasado.

The story is fairly silent, there is not much dialogue but there are changes in the scenes especially of time and how this is passing seeing that while the ghost is still in those walls of his old home and trying to process that life went on without him, as he sees things changing he feels that somehow he should leave but doesn't know how because he has the feeling that he should be together with "M" and he can't leave her in the past.

Y mucho de lo que quiere decir está película según lo que quedó en mi cuando la vi es que muchas veces es tan difícil el dejar ir a esa persona o lugar porque tienes recuerdos que te atan y que no te permiten ver que la vida sigue y que con ella debemos seguir adelante. Es bastante deprimente la historia pero sentí que fue realista aunque se tratara de la historia de un fantasma que no sabe cómo dejar de seguir persiguiendo su pasado, es una película que sin duda te deja pensando sobre muchas cosas que a veces no entendemos de la vida misma.

And a lot of what this movie means according to what stayed with me when I saw it is that many times it is so difficult to let go of that person or place because you have memories that bind you and do not allow you to see that life goes on and that with it we must move forward. It is quite depressing the story but I felt it was realistic even though it was the story of a ghost who doesn't know how to stop chasing his past, it is a movie that certainly leaves you thinking about many things that sometimes we don't understand about life itself.
