🌼Review

Hello, the community of movies and TV shows this 2024 is about to end; there were many choices in cinema for this year. Despite the great amount of choices, this year, I enjoyed few movies. On this occasion I enjoyed a beautiful story called White Bird. I am not a fan of stories inspired by the era. Nor wars, however, this story is one of the few that has captured my attention, mainly because it touched my heart from the beginning. When a movie has that effect of moving us, making us reflect, it becomes special. The film White Bird is that script that has that direct influence on our emotions.

🌼A Screenplay Inspired by a Story from a Book

News

When I share a review I always like to research a little about its actors and producers, this time I found an important fact about this movie and that is that the producer of this beautiful production was inspired by the story of a book by a great writer named Raquel Palacios, a writer of trajectory that through her writings has touched the hearts of many readers, one of those stories is Alas Blancas (White Wings). Like Narnia, this movie has several messages worth receiving. I like it when the story of a book comes to life on screen.

🌼White Wings

What is this movie about?

The drama of this film is based on the story of a French grandmother named Sara, who arrives at the right time to share with her grandson the story of her sad adolescence, marked by the intervention of the arrival of the Nazi regimes in France. A story she had kept in reserve for years, the little she liked to talk about, details of the past that marked her heart. The past comes alive in Sara's narrative. The journey to the past knocks at the door of that teenager Sara. World War II came to France with its vast system and young Sara lives with her parents of Jewish origins, a blessing for them, a curse for the Nazi followers.
In the middle of that revolution, Sara goes to her school like any other young girl, beautiful, full of illusions and in that school a young boy named Julian, a despised character, ignored by Sara herself. In the midst of that sad time, everything begins to be marked by tragedies, so Sara's family was dragged together with hundreds of Jews to the Nazi suffering. Sara, who remains in her school, is surprised by the soldiers and, wishing to escape from that persecution, is saved by that despised young man named Julian. The encounter between these two characters leads them to different moments full of fantasy, friendship, love, compassion, tears and pain. Following each moment shows us the reality of the past, the sweetness of youthful love and the sadness left by the Nazi regime when it passed through France. In this way, grandmother Sara takes her grandson to the past to make him understand his bad behavior and the need to love others regardless of their skin color or nationality, that human side that when left aside turns man into a beast.

🌼A message to humanity

What I liked about this movie

White Wings is a story that contains many positive messages, a story in the middle of a war that reminded me of the movie Life is Beautiful where the effort to avoid the harsh reality of the time leads the characters to live moments of fantasy where creativity and childlike sweetness touches the heart. As I always do with this kind of movies, it made me cry. It is not a crime for a movie to make you cry. Reflect on many things, mainly on the kindness and lack of empathy in the world today. Helping others does not make you fragile, respecting life does not make you vulnerable, it is part of our human side. We choose which way we want to go, we want to go towards the darkness that leads us to despise others or straight towards the light. This message in the middle of this beautiful story is worth receiving. Many times we become selfish thinking only of ourselves without valuing those close to us like our grandmothers.
I don't know why, but at Christmas I always like to watch movies that move me by chance I found White bird, I started watching it because I thought it was a fantasy story to my surprise I ended up crying, thinking about the need to choose the path of light, a little corny, but I am very sentimental with this kind of stories.

🌼vive l'humanité

My concussion
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Vive l'humanité! Grandma Sara's sentence sums up a message that leads us to avoid the mistakes of history's dark past. It is up to us what to choose, the direction of our actions. As I mentioned at the beginning, I am not a fan of films based on wars; however, the mark left by the Nazi regime with its countless tragedies, testimonies of survival, is worth witnessing these narratives. Reality, mixed with fantasy, love, sadness, all in the same script, I recommend it. I will share with you a little bit of my experience watching this beautiful movie. Go ahead and watch it and draw your own conclusions, maybe you will end up like me hugging my loved ones, thanking life and the opportunity to be better every day.

I’m definitely watching this if it has some great amount of impact on emotions. I like movies that make viewers be in their emotions and this is definitely something on my list now.
