Atlas (2024): A Spectacle Science Fiction ~ Movie Review

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is one of the main focus of the scientists now and in fact we are now in a a modern world of technology where lots of inventions have been made. AI is really one of the best invention that a person or scientists can make, gifted with lots of passion on bringing it possible to make the humanity an easier life like never before.

Just Last week, I watched this movie that has been released recently in NETFLIX because I am an avid fan of watching movies on my free time, I browse on this NETFLIX of the top 10 movies in the Philippines on the application and ATLAS was one of the top 10 movies on this NETFLIX.

This movie has been directed by Brad Peyton who is one of the famous director in the hollywood, with the writers Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite, and lastly the stars or the actor and actresses were one of the most renowned one and they are Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, and Sterling K. Brown.

I was thrilled by this movie because this is one of the best genre that I like the most and one thing is that there is Jennifer Lopez in the movie which is more exciting to watch. So, before I watched this movie, I prepared something special because I know that this is worth to watch. I bought some hamburgers in the 7/11 and buy a powdered juice to pair with my hamburgers.

The story is about an AI robot called Harlan who became a terrorists and was determined to killed most of the humans but he failed because was stopped by the people who fight with him. Harlan is a robot made from Atlas' mother because her mother is one of the best scientist who also made history in the world.

I would say that the CGI (Computer-generated imagery) for this movie is really awesome and looks so real. It is now 2024 and the animation were stunning, they nailed the action scenes and we can see and imagine that this is the future that we could ever experience.

There were some happy and comedy scenes at the middle of the movie while chasing Harlan in another planet. It was way too cool to see the spaceship leap through space and they can go where ever planets that they want to go. There were lots of lines that always on my mind in the movie but one of the iconic line that I've always remembered is "Peace to the Fallen" it was way too good and it was the AI robot named Smith paired with Atlas who said that.

At first, Atlas was allergic of getting or using an AI robot for anything because of her trauma in the past about robots and knew about Harlan on what he is capable of. But there were some questions that I think it didn't answered yet, that question is How is Harlan (AI robot) capable of learning the future when he was impaired with Atlas when she was too young? That's what I'm missing on the movie and in the story.

Thoughts

Watching this is entertaining with lots of action scenes on the movie. Some people may discontented of the flow of the movie but I think this is one of the best movie in this year. There were some Sci-fi movies before but this one stand out from the rest because this is about revenge on killing the protagonist.

The bond between Atlas and Smith [AI robot] were great and their relationship has deepened. Atlas was afraid at first but as the time goes by, she learned that not all AI's are bad and I think it's a great invention if it will come true.

I rate this movie 8/10 because of the CGI (Computer-generated imagery) and also the growth of the main character and Smith with a comedy story.
