The Day After Tomorrow (2004): Movie Review

This is a movie review that I've watched maybe 2 or more times and to tell you honestly, this is one of the great movies that I've watched up until now. The movie was released last 2004 and I think, it's been 20 years since this movie was first aired.

One of my favorite movies were something like science fiction. I've watched this movie when I was still a college student and I rewatch this movie last days because it's one of the recommended movies that the Netflix app that I use.

Most videos that I've watched in Netflix were Korean Dramas because I also love Korean Drama and after watching the last Korean drama, I saw this movie while scrolling into my Netflix account.

This movie is about the catastrophe that happened on Earth in the last 10000 years or more ago and Jack Hall, one of the researchers about the climate study this kind of phenomena in his entire life. While his study is not backed by other great scientists before but his studies borne fruitful when the catastrophe happened.

Even though there are lots of people that didn't believe on his studies but there are some close friends of Jack believe him. He study that there will be a climate shift that will happened in the next 10000 years but that kind of shift has happened in their time and at first, Jack didn't believe on the climate shift because it was supposed to happen in many years but not in his time but it actually happen that they don't really expected.

The catastrophe that it will bring world a major shift which is the upper half of the world will be covered in snow and will turn most of the places with ice that looks like a north pole.

Basically that just happened in a few days and the people panicked that the north side of the Earth was on the verge on having a terrible disaster that came that there were first a few signs were the temperature drop, then a big waves came, a snow, and lastly the blizzard.

While Jack is worried about his son, Sam, because Sam is in the North that is in New York because there were some activities from school that he participated and it held in New York.

While the officials were not sure about this phenomenon but Jack insist on his studies and these officials ignored his studies and the consequences were fatal that most of the people in the north of the map were dead and frozen.

That alone, that the official ignored Jack's prediction about his studies gives a big impact to the people in the North and if they listen to Jack's proposal and studies at first, there were lots of people are saved.

I know that this kind of catastrophe will happen but not this time just like Noah's Ark that Noah built for many years and then the big flood happened people didn't believe him at first and they laugh at him (that's what I understand about his story and I don't know the details) and when the big flood happen, there were lots of pair animals that were being saved.

The movie was released last 2004 and even though it was years ago, the graphics were really awesome and it looks like it was made in the early 2020's and I like how they put details of the wave, snow, and lastly the wolves but I think the wolves were not necessary because the wolves have animal instincts that if the weather is not good, then they will not come to that place. I think animals are better to understand about the nature than the people.

I would this movie 8/10 because the graphics were really great. Also, the flow of the story is great that there is something romance between Sam and the girl that he loves and also Jack that he really cares about his family, too.
